Make a bequest

For 160 years, the Library has been providing free and democratic access to knowledge, education and culture for all Victorians. We could not have done this without the support of many benefactors along the way.

By leaving a bequest to State Library Victoria, you can continue this work and leave a lasting legacy through this remarkable institution.

Those who make a bequest to the Library are invited to join the Redmond Barry Society, established to recognise the generosity and support of Library benefactors. Members receive invitations to exhibition openings, collection viewings and exclusive functions throughout the year.

Whether you're ready to make a bequest now or are exploring potential options, we welcome the opportunity to meet you, answer your questions and help you achieve all that you hope for with your gift. Your inquiry will be treated with discretion. Any information you provide will be treated confidentially and in accordance with our Privacy statement.

When you make a gift in your will, we recommend seeking independent professional advice from a financial advisor or solicitor. Please see our suggested wording for different forms of testamentary gifts that you can discuss with your solicitor.

If a bequest is subject to any conditions, discussions with our Giving Manager can assist in determining whether the Library is able to fulfill your wishes.
