State Library Victoria is teaming up with Redbubble, the global creative marketplace, to create independent art history.

We're asking artists from across the world to design original work inspired by historic images from our collection to win incredible prizes.

Remix. Reuse. Do your own thing.

Prizes

• Cash (1st prize: A$2500; 2nd prize: A$1000; 3rd prize: A$500)
• Have your design displayed at State Library Victoria
• Get your design permanently added to the Library's collection
• Sell your products at the Library in Readings bookshop

How it works

1. Choose an image from our three collection themes: Magic, Weird and wonderful creatures and Botanicals.
2. Create an original design inspired by this image.
3. Share on Instagram with #CreateArtHistory and upload to your Redbubble account.

All of the images in each theme are out of copyright and free to remix, reuse and reimagine in any way you choose.
