Employment eligibility

  • Successful applicants will be subject to a probation period of six months.

Safety and wellbeing

We recognise our responsibility to provide and maintain, so far as is practicable, for all people who work in the Library or use our resources, an environment that is safe and without risk to health. In order to achieve that objective, the Library maintains an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system that includes policies, procedures and systems of work. All Library employees have been allocated OH&S responsibilities and are responsible for ensuring that the policies, procedures and systems of work are implemented and followed.

We will conduct our operations in a manner that reduces the environmental impact of Library employees, contractors and visitors. The terms and conditions of employment and standard of behaviour expected by staff at the Library are in accordance with the State Library Victoria Enterprise Partnership Agreement 2016 and the Code of conduct for Victorian public sector employees.

Our work experience program for students in Years 10 and 11 is currently under review, and we are not accepting applications for 2017.
