At what point of time do we realize that India's agriculture problems are actually everyone's problems? Even the most oblivious are not unfamiliar with the basics of this plot in India: an impoverished farmer, a weak harvest, mounting debts and the burden of many hungry stomachs. The ubiquity of this trope on screen and in real life should have ensured a uniform and universal application of a solution a long time ago, yet most Indian farmers still live within this cyclic narrative. Disillusioned yet determined, agriculturalist Prem Singh set out to crack the farming code, and talks about how, in doing so, he managed to turn his struggling farm into a lush green source of income, chasing transformation while preserving the ecological balance of the soil. His work sets an example for the nation and beyond.
As a progressive organic farmer from Bundelkhand, Prem Singh transformed his land in a drought stricken region into a lush farmland. Now, his farm has water bodies, follows crop rotation and organic farming, and is equipped with food processing units and is also used for animal husbandry. The farm also boasts of a few distinctive things in the region such as a rural museum, the Human Agrarian Centre and a Farmer Training Center. Prem believes that if his formula of sustainable farming is implemented across the country, it can ensure restoration of ecological balance and prosperity of farmers’ families. Born in 1964 in a farming family, Prem studied philosophy in Allahabad University but soon turned to his ancestral vocation. He has also co-authored a book, “What Farmers Really Need”, with Belgium environmentalist Johan D’hulster in which he explains how his farm follows the concept of ‘Aavartansheel Kheti’ which, loosely translated, means ‘periodic proportionate farming’.

Prem Singh
Prem Singh is a Fijian politician and a member of the Fijian Parliament. He is a member of the National Federation Party (NFP).
An Indo-Fijian, Singh is a founding member of the Fiji Cane Growers Association. He served three terms on the Nadi town council, and was deputy mayor from 1999 to 2001.
Singh contested the 2001 election for the NFP, winning the Nadi Open constituency and becoming the only member of his party to win a seat in the House of Representatives. He was subsequently appointed Leader of the Opposition, after Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry declined the office. In February 2002 he lost his seat after an election petition. Singh appealed this decision to the Supreme Court which ruled that even though the ruling was incorrect, the Constitution did not allow for the appeal of a Court of Disputed Returns ruling.
Singh was re-elected to Parliament in the 2014 election, winning 1125 votes.

Alka Yagnik (Hindi: अलका याज्ञनिक, Bengali: অলকা ইয়াগনিক) is an Indian playback singer. She is noted in Hindi cinema with a career spanning over three decades. She is a record seven-time winner from a record of 36 nominations of the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer, a two-time recipient of the National Film Award as well as several other music awards & honours. Further, as many as 20 of her tracks feature in BBC's "Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time" review.
Early life and background
Alka Yagnik was born in Kolkata on 20 March 1966, to Gujarati Hindu Parents. Her mother Shubha Yagnik was a singer of Indian classical music. She did her schooling from Modern High School for Girls. In 1972 at the age of six, she started singing for Akashvani (All India Radio), Calcutta. At age 10, her mother brought her to Mumbai as a child singer. She was advised to wait until her voice matured, but her mother remained determined. On a subsequent visit, Alka got a letter of introduction to Raj Kapoor from his Kolkata distributor. Kapoor heard the girl and sent her with a letter to noted music director Laxmikant. Impressed, Laxmikant gave her two alternatives – an immediate start as a dubbing artist or a later break as a singer; Shubha chose the latter for her daughter.

Sonu Nigam (30 July 1973) is an Indian playback singer whose songs have been featured mainly in Hindi, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, and Marathi movies. He has also released Indian pop albums and acted in a number of movies. He has been one of the highest paid Indian singers. His singing style is considered similar to the legendary Mohd. Rafi whom he also considers his motivation.
Early and personal life
Nigam was born on 30 July 1973 in a Kayastha family to Agam Kumar Nigam and Shobha Nigam in the city of Faridabad, Haryana.
Nigam began his singing career at the age of four, when he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi's song "Kya hua tera wada". From then on, Nigam accompanied his father on his singing appearances at weddings and parties. He moved to Mumbai with his father to begin his Bollywood singing career at the age of 18. He was trained by Hindustani classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.

Plot: This is the story of a eccentric young man, Ashok (Dharmendra) who believes in doing good without worrying about the consequences. On his way he has a skirmish with the a princess Rajkumari Seema (Hema Malini) who he teaches a lesson to respect the poor and food grown in the fields. When he arrives in the city, due to his misfortune, he lands a job at a factory run by the Rajkumari, and immediately gets in to the bad books of Prem (Prem Chopra) to whom the Rajkumari is engaged to be married. The Rajkumari also decides to teach him a lesson for the humiliation she suffered at his hands. But things work out differently, and Ashok ends up saving the life of the Rajkumari, and she falls in love with him. This jeopardizes the plans that Rajkumari's uncle (Ajit) has for her and her bethrothed Prem, and a horrifying scheme is concocted to stop the love and possible future relationship of Rajkumari and Ashok.

Mohinder (composer), Harbans Papey (miscellaneous crew), Vimi (actress), Ram Maheshwari (writer),
Plot: Gurumukh Singh, his wife, and younger brother, Prem, live a fairly harmoniously lifestyle in 1947 India. Both brothers open a contracting business and prosper. Prem gets married to Ratan Kaur and shortly thereafter Gurumukh becomes the father of Gurmeet. Their harmonious lifestyle is shattered after Ratan and her brother, Sukragujar, instigate the two brothers against each other, leading to the closure of the business. Ratan takes charge of Gurmeet's life and ensures he gets a good education. Years later Gurmeet has grown up, is in love with lovely Charanjit Kaur and hopes to marry her soon. Before that could happen, he lose his vision and may never get marry; be able to see again nor be able to look after his now aged dad, mom, Prem and Ratan.

The ubiquity of this trope on screen and in real life should have ensured a uniform and universal application of a solution a long time ago, yet most Indian farmers still live within this cyclic narrative. Disillusioned yet determined, agriculturalist Prem Singh set out to crack the farming code, and talks about how, in doing so, he managed to turn his struggling farm into a lush green source of income, chasing transformation while preserving the ecological balance of the soil. His work sets an example for the nation and beyond.
As a progressive organic farmer from Bundelkhand, Prem Singh transformed his land in a drought stricken region into a lush farmland. Now, his farm has water bodies, follows crop rotation and organic farming, and is equipped with food processing units and is also used for animal husbandry. The farm also boasts of a few distinctive things in the region such as a rural museum, the Human Agrarian Centre and a Farmer Training Center. Prem believes that if his formula of sustainable farming is implemented across the country, it can ensure restoration of ecological balance and prosperity of farmers’ families. Born in 1964 in a farming family, Prem studied philosophy in Allahabad University but soon turned to his ancestral vocation. He has also co-authored a book, “What Farmers Really Need”, with Belgium environmentalist Johan D’hulster in which he explains how his farm follows the concept of ‘Aavartansheel Kheti’ which, loosely translated, means ‘periodic proportionate farming’.

The ubiquity of this trope on screen and in real life should have ensured a uniform and universal application of a solution a long time ago, yet most Indian farmers still live within this cyclic narrative. Disillusioned yet determined, agriculturalist Prem Singh set out to crack the farming code, and talks about how, in doing so, he managed to turn his struggling farm into a lush green source of income, chasing transformation while preserving the ecological balance of the soil. His work sets an example for the nation and beyond.
As a progressive organic farmer from Bundelkhand, Prem Singh transformed his land in a drought stricken region into a lush farmland. Now, his farm has water bodies, follows crop rotation and organic farming, and is equipped with food processing units and is also used for animal husbandry. The farm also boasts of a few distinctive things in the region such as a rural museum, the Human Agrarian Centre and a Farmer Training Center. Prem believes that if his formula of sustainable farming is implemented across the country, it can ensure restoration of ecological balance and prosperity of farmers’ families. Born in 1964 in a farming family, Prem studied philosophy in Allahabad University but soon turned to his ancestral vocation. He has also co-authored a book, “What Farmers Really Need”, with Belgium environmentalist Johan D’hulster in which he explains how his farm follows the concept of ‘Aavartansheel Kheti’ which, loosely translated, means ‘periodic proportionate farming’.
