Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain, the new third-generation Bentley Continental GT combines spirited, focused performance with handcrafted luxury and cutting-edge technology, to create the finest Grand Tourer ever produced.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “Bentley has been at the forefront of luxury Grand Touring for nearly one hundred years. The new, third-generation Continental GT is the pinnacle of our design and engineering achievements and marks the next step in Bentley’s journey.
“We are the world leader in luxury mobility and our products and services define new luxury in the automotive world. The new Continental GT encapsulates our desire to innovate as well as celebrate our heritage and take the Bentley ownership experience to the next, unparalleled level.”
At the heart of the new Continental GT sits an all-new, enhanced version of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 TSI engine, mated, for the first time, to a dual-clutch eight-speed transmission, for faster, more efficient gear changes.
A new, technically advanced, adaptive chassis uses Bentley’s intelligent 48-volt Dynamic Ride System to ensure a responsive ride and exceptional handling and refinement in all road conditions. The new system controls ride comfort and lateral roll, cushioning passengers from excessive movement as well as making the car feel effortlessly precise.
The muscular exterior design, created using revolutionary technology, results in a lightweight, yet stiff, body. The engine is positioned further back to improve weight distribution, resulting in driver-focused, dynamic performance.
Offering four seats and improved luggage capacity for genuine real-world usability, the new Bentley Continental GT’s luxurious cabin is packed with exquisite details such as a new ‘diamond in diamond’ leather design. In addition, significant work has gone into harmonising the extensive portfolio of 15 colours across hides and carpets.
The new Continental GT also showcases major evolutions in Bentley’s unique application of technology. An advanced, fully digital, driver-focused instrument panel and Bentley Rotating Display for the driver are among the suite of innovations. The latter features an impressive 12.3” touchscreen housed in a three-sided unit, which revolves the veneer to reveal the touchscreen as well as three elegant analogue dials.
The interior design of the Continental GT is tailored specifically to the modern luxury customer, with unrivalled attention to detail that creates an effortless ownership experience. The new Continental GT will make its global debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show between 12 and 24 September, 2017.
The Evolution of Bentley’s Famous Design DNA
The exterior design of the new Continental GT is based on a bold new vision that is unmistakably Bentley. The all-new body and materials save more than
80 kg over the previous Continental W12 body.
While the Continental GT retains the classic elegance that made its forebear so popular, the form of the new car is more sculptural and sharply defined and takes much of its inspiration from the critically acclaimed EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car.
To allow for such a bold reimagining of the Continental GT, the aluminium skin has been crafted using Super Formed technology – a precision technique working with aluminium heated to 500°C which has previously been used on Bentley fenders. This method allows designers to invoke more complex, sharply defined body lines and a deeper, sculpted haunch muscle.
The Continental GT is the first production car ever to have an entire body side made from the Super Formed process.

Bentley is aiming to build upon record sales and the burgeoning success of its Bentayga SUV with this all-new, third-generation Bentley Continental GT sports tourer, which has been revealed ahead of a public debut at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The newcomer’s front-end styling incorporates elements seen on Bentley’s EXP 10 Speed 6 sports car concept. Meanwhile, the rear retains the Conti’s ‘haunch’ over the wheels, but the tail-lights and hatch have a neater, more resolved look.

Bentley Continental GT
The Bentley Continental GT is a grand tourer produced by British automaker Bentley Motors since 2003. It was the first car released by Bentley under Volkswagen AG-management after their acquisition of the company in 1998, and the first ever Bentley to employ "mass production" manufacturing techniques. It shares a platform with the Volkswagen Phaeton.
The Continental GT has transformed the company into a major global brand.
Origin
In 1994 Rolls Royce Motors (who at that time owned the Bentley brand) previewed a convertible concept car at the Geneva Motor Show - the Concept Java. The car was designed to be a highly desirable Bentley, but smaller, more affordable, yet still exclusive in order to maintain the integrity of the brand. It was to appeal to a new range of potential buyers and generate increase sales volume for Rolls Royce (at the time the current Bentley Continental R was an ultra-exclusive £180,000 in the UK, within reach of a very select market selling only 2-300 units a year). The Concept Java never made it into production in the form seen in 1994 (although 13 cars were made for the Sultan of Brunei). However the Bentley Continental GT realised the concept of the Java as a more affordable Bentley, manufactured in much larger volumes. Whilst external styling is different, the dashboard design was clearly influenced by the Java.

Bentley Continental
Bentley has used the Continental name on several generations of luxury automobiles since 1952.
From 1952 to 1965
Following World War II, Bentley moved to resume production of civilian automobiles, and its factory was relocated to Crewe, England from Derby. There, Bentley engineers produced so-called R-Type Continentals for three years, from 1952 to 1955. These were derivatives of the original R-Type, the second series in Bentley's postwar luxury lineup.
The R-Type Continental's chassis was independently produced and sold to custom coach-builders. One of the world's most expensive automobiles, only about 208 R-Type Continentals were built in total.
Following the R-Type Continental, the Continental S1, S2 and S3 were released consecutively beginning in 1955. The S1 was well received, 49 being built though some reviewers considered the boot space inadequate. The deficiency was addressed on later vehicles. The S2, unveiled in 1959, debuted with a new L Series V-8 engine, still used in contemporary Bentleys like the Mulsanne. It also incorporated air conditioning and standard power steering, considered cutting-edge amenities at the time. The S3, for its part, was distinguishable by its "four-headlamps in the front wings."

Bentley
Bentley Motors Limited (/ˈbɛntli/) is a British registered company that designs, develops, and manufactures Bentley luxury motorcars which are largely hand-built. It is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG. Now based in Crewe, England, Bentley Motors Limited was founded by W. O. Bentley on 18 January 1919 in Cricklewood, North London.
Bentley cars are sold via franchised dealers worldwide, and as of November 2012, China was the largest market.
Most Bentley cars are assembled at the Crewe factory, but a small number of Continental Flying Spurs are assembled at the factory in Dresden, Germany. and bodies for the Continental are produced in Zwickau, Germany.
Bentley won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930, and 2003.
Iconic Bentley models include the Bentley 4½ Litre, Bentley Speed Six, Bentley R Type Continental, Bentley Turbo R, and Bentley Arnage. As of 2015, Bentley produce the Continental Flying Spur, Continental GT, and Mulsanne.
Rolls-Royce bought Bentley from the receivers in 1931 and subsequently sold it to Vickers plc in 1980 when Rolls-Royce themselves went bankrupt. In 1998, Vickers sold it to Volkswagen AG. The sale included the vehicle designs, model nameplates, production and administrative facilities, the Spirit of Ecstasy and Rolls-Royce grille shape trademarks, but not the rights to the Rolls-Royce name or logo which are owned by Rolls-Royce Holdings plc and were licensed to BMW AG.

Turn On the Bright Lights is the debut studio album by the American rock band Interpol, released in August 2002. The album was recorded in November 2001 at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut, and was co-produced, mixed and engineered by Peter Katis and Gareth Jones. It was released on August 19, 2002 in the United Kingdom and August 20 in the United States, through independent record label Matador Records. Upon release, the record peaked at number 101 on the UK Albums Chart. It reached number 158 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, as well as spending 73 weeks in the Billboard Independent Albums, peaking at number five.
"PDA", "NYC", "Obstacle 1" and "Say Hello to the Angels" were the singles from Turn On the Bright Lights, and a video was shot for each with the exception of "Say Hello to the Angels".
The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 29, 2011 for shipments of 500,000 copies.
A remastered version of the album was released in 2012 to commemorate its tenth anniversary. It featured additional material including demo recordings of several tracks, the bonus songs previously available on international releases and a DVD of live performances and music videos.

interior At first glance, the interior of the new Mulsanne is identical to the previous model. That’s because the design remained unchanged. Customers will get the same dashboard covered in acres of wood and leather, the four-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, the wide center stack, and the two-tone door panels with upper wood sections. But, while Bentley didn’t meddle with the styling, it did create new appointments for the luxurious interior. New features include up to 13 hand-selected wood veneers, bright-polished stainless steel, and a unique glass switchgear. The comfortable seats can also be ordered in two new styles, fluted or quilted. Moreover, customers will be able to select between 24 hide colors and single or two-tone finishes. More updates are evident in the tech department. The main highlight is the new infotainment system with updated navigation, connectivity, and audio system. The main eight-inch touchscreen is connected to a 60-gigabyte hard drive, while the front seats come with 10.2-inch Bentley Entertainment Tablets integrated into their backs. The Android devices feature 4G, WiFi, and Bluetooth and give users access to over a million Android apps, including Skype, Google Play and Spotify. The device has 32 gigabytes of on-board storage and can be used away from the car, in the office and at home. They can stream audio and even send new destinations to the car’s navigation system. For the ultimate audio experience, the new Mulsanne can be specified with a Naim for Bentley premium sound system with 20 speakers, 20 channels, a 2,200-watt amplifier, and Super Tweeters. Judging by the specs, you can probably host a live concert in there, given you can fit the entire band. "New features include up to 13 hand-selected wood veneers, bright-polished stainless steel, and a unique glass switchgear" Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase Customers with a preference for being driven can opt for the Extended Wheelbase model, which has a 250 mm (9.8 inches) longer wheelbase to the benefit of rear-passenger legroom. In addition to the larger rear compartment, the Extended Wheelbase model also received airline-style leg rests that extend outward and pivot, giving passengers the choice between upright, relaxed, and reclined seating positions. Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain, the new third-generation Bentley Continental GT combines spirited, focused performance with handcrafted luxury and cutting-edge technology, to create the finest Grand Tourer ever produced.
Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “Bentley has been at the forefront of luxury Grand Touring for nearly one hundred years. The new, third-generation Continental GT is the pinnacle of our design and engineering achievements and marks the next step in Bentley’s journey.
“We are the world leader in luxury mobility and our products and services define new luxury in the automotive world. The new Continental GT encapsulates our desire to innovate as well as celebrate our heritage and take the Bentley ownership experience to the next, unparalleled level.”
At the heart of the new Continental GT sits an all-new, enhanced version of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 TSI engine, mated, for the first time, to a dual-clutch eight-speed transmission, for faster, more efficient gear changes.
A new, technically advanced, adaptive chassis uses Bentley’s intelligent 48-volt Dynamic Ride System to ensure a responsive ride and exceptional handling and refinement in all road conditions. The new system controls ride comfort and lateral roll, cushioning passengers from excessive movement as well as making the car feel effortlessly precise.
The muscular exterior design, created using revolutionary technology, results in a lightweight, yet stiff, body. The engine is positioned further back to improve weight distribution, resulting in driver-focused, dynamic performance.
Offering four seats and improved luggage capacity for genuine real-world usability, the new Bentley Continental GT’s luxurious cabin is packed with exquisite details such as a new ‘diamond in diamond’ leather design. In addition, significant work has gone into harmonising the extensive portfolio of 15 colours across hides and carpets.
The new Continental GT also showcases major evolutions in Bentley’s unique application of technology. An advanced, fully digital, driver-focused instrument panel and Bentley Rotating Display for the driver are among the suite of innovations. The latter features an impressive 12.3” touchscreen housed in a three-sided unit, which revolves the veneer to reveal the touchscreen as well as three elegant analogue dials.
The interior design of the Continental GT is tailored specifically to the modern luxury customer, with unrivalled attention to detail that creates an effortless ownership experience. The cabin seamlessly integrates cutting-edge onboard technology with the finest handcrafted natural materials. The result is an exquisite, harmonised, connected and luxurious space.
The new Continental GT will make its global debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show between 12 and 24 September, 2017.
The Evolution of Bentley’s Famous Design DNA
The exterior design of the new Continental GT is based on a bold new vision that is unmistakably Bentley. The all-new body and materials save more than
80 kg over the previous Continental W12 body.
While the Continental GT retains the classic elegance that made its forebear so popular, the form of the new car is more sculptural and sharply defined and takes much of its inspiration from the critically acclaimed EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car.
To allow for such a bold reimagining of the Continental GT, the aluminium skin has been crafted using Super Formed technology – a precision technique working with aluminium heated to 500°C which has previously been used on Bentley fenders. This method allows designers to invoke more complex, sharply defined body lines and a deeper, sculpted haunch muscle.
The Continental GT is the first production car ever to have an entire body side made from the Super Formed process.

At the heart of the new Continental GT sits an all-new, enhanced version of Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged W12 TSI engine, mated, for the first time, to a dual-clutch eight-speed transmission, for faster, more efficient gear changes.
A new, technically advanced, adaptive chassis uses Bentley’s intelligent
48-volt Dynamic Ride System to ensure a responsive ride and exceptional handling and refinement in all road conditions. The new system controls ride comfort and lateral roll, cushioning passengers from excessive movement as well as making the car feel effortlessly precise.
The muscular exterior design, created using revolutionary technology, results in a lightweight, yet stiff, body. The engine is positioned further back to improve weight distribution, resulting in driver-focused, dynamic performance.
Offering four seats and improved luggage capacity for genuine real-world usability, the new Bentley Continental GT’s luxurious cabin is packed with exquisite details such as a new ‘diamond in diamond’ leather design. In addition, significant work has gone into harmonising the extensive portfolio of 15 colours across hides and carpets.
The new Continental GT also showcases major evolutions in Bentley’s unique application of technology. Designed, developed and handbuilt in Crewe, the W12 TSI engine is the most advanced 12-cylinder engine in the world. The unique ‘W’ configuration means that the engine is 24 per cent shorter than an equivalent V12, benefitting weight distribution and maximising usable cabin space.
The new powertrain uses the very latest engine management technology, with 300 million software calculations per second. It produces 635 PS (626 bhp) and 900 Nm (664 lb.ft.) of torque, and accelerates the new Continental GT to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds), and on to a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph)*.

It shows a beautiful representation of the Roque Bentayga, in Gran Canaria, which originally inspired the name of the world’s first genuine luxury SUV. Mulliner have captured its essence – even parked in your driveway it will transport you to a distant horizon.
It is almost impossible to appreciate the levels of complex artistry and hours of manual skill that go into this time-honoured process. The materials are of an exquisite nature – in all, 32 layers of different wood, from six species of tree, are meticulously combined in a variety of illuminating hues.

Orange Flame
From a spark of inspiration
The craftspeople at Mulliner find inspiration everywhere - the challenge is translating that inspiration into engineering perfection. This car is a prime example of why enduring that challenge is worth it. Inspired by the vitality and power of a living flame, it was a chance to explore innovative fabrics and colours.
To truly emulate the organic colour palette and mesmerizing movement of a flame, a new material was required. That material was Sparkle Carbon. It is woven from three different fabrics – carbon fibre, copper foil and metal wire – before being cut to size and applied. It is then lacquered and polished until the foil aspect of the weave emerges to showcase its natural reflectivity.
The company created this car for the 2016 Geneva Motorshow – a glowing example of their flare and passion. Its striking Orange Flame over Ghost White colourway is complemented with an Orange Flame bodykit, Orange illuminated treadplates and a unique tri-tone interior.
This look is further elevated with Mulliner embroidery to all four headrests, a steering wheel with an orange “12 o’clock” stripe and sporting black gloss painted wheels. Of course, the really unique part of this car is the Orange Sparkle Carbon fascia panel, console and instrument panel.

Bespoke Hides
With Mulliner, almost any visible feature of your Bentley can be finished in a bespoke colour – even the hand-stitched leather hides used to upholster the cabin interior.

The craftspeople at Mulliner find inspiration everywhere - the challenge is translating that inspiration into engineering perfection. This car is a prime example of why enduring that challenge is worth it. Inspired by the vitality and power of a living flame, it was a chance to explore innovative fabrics and colours.
To truly emulate the organic colour palette and mesmerizing movement of a flame, a new material was required. That material was Sparkle Carbon. It is woven from three different fabrics – carbon fibre, copper foil and metal wire – before being cut to size and applied. It is then lacquered and polished until the foil aspect of the weave emerges to showcase its natural reflectivity.
The company created this car for the 2016 Geneva Motorshow – a glowing example of their flare and passion. Its striking Orange Flame over Ghost White colourway is complemented with an Orange Flame bodykit, Orange illuminated treadplates and a unique tri-tone interior.
This look is further elevated with Mulliner embroidery to all four headrests, a steering wheel with an orange “12 o’clock” stripe and sporting black gloss painted wheels. Of course, the really unique part of this car is the Orange Sparkle Carbon fascia panel, console and instrument panel.
Consider it living proof of Mulliner’s commitment to innovation.
Bespoke Hides
With Mulliner, almost any visible feature of your Bentley can be finished in a bespoke colour – even the hand-stitched leather hides used to upholster the cabin interior.
And it doesn’t stop there. The embroidery, the carpets and the exterior paintwork can also be colour-matched to a sample you provide. Whether it’s a favourite suit, a favourite lipstick or the coat of your favourite racehorse, our experts can recreate any shade you specify and reproduce it anywhere in your car.
Your new colour can be combined with any existing hue from the Bentley range or, if you prefer, you can use it throughout, to the exclusion of all others.

At first glance, the interior of the new Mulsanne is identical to the previous model. That’s because the design remained unchanged. Customers will get the same dashboard covered in acres of wood and leather, the four-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, the wide center stack, and the two-tone door panels with upper wood sections. But, while Bentley didn’t meddle with the styling, it did create new appointments for the luxurious interior. New features include up to 13 hand-selected wood veneers, bright-polished stainless steel, and a unique glass switchgear.
The comfortable seats can also be ordered in two new styles, fluted or quilted. Moreover, customers will be able to select between 24 hide colors and single or two-tone finishes.
More updates are evident in the tech department. The main highlight is the new infotainment system with updated navigation, connectivity, and audio system. The main eight-inch touchscreen is connected to a 60-gigabyte hard drive, while the front seats come with 10.2-inch Bentley Entertainment Tablets integrated into their backs. The Android devices feature 4G, WiFi, and Bluetooth and give users access to over a million Android apps, including Skype, Google Play and Spotify. The device has 32 gigabytes of on-board storage and can be used away from the car, in the office and at home. They can stream audio and even send new destinations to the car’s navigation system.
For the ultimate audio experience, the new Mulsanne can be specified with a Naim for Bentley premium sound system with 20 speakers, 20 channels, a 2,200-watt amplifier, and Super Tweeters. Judging by the specs, you can probably host a live concert in there, given you can fit the entire band.

Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase
Customers with a preference for being driven can opt for the Extended Wheelbase model, which has a 250 mm (9.8 inches) longer wheelbase to the benefit of rear-passenger legroom. In addition to the larger rear compartment, the Extended Wheelbase model also received airline-style leg rests that extend outward and pivot, giving passengers the choice between upright, relaxed, and reclined seating positions.
There’s also a bespoke console between the two rear seats, appointed in the finest handcrafted veneer, metal, glass, and leather. The console houses USB ports, pen holders, cup holders, and a stowage area. Optionally, customers can have a deployable, folding table, electric curtains, and a large, tilting and sliding sunroof over the rear cabin.

To celebrate their recent motorsport successes, Bentley have introduced a more focused version of the Continental GT, based on the twin-turbo V8 model now with 572hp, the GT3-R. As a limited edition product, with only 300 examples being built, the GT3-R costs £237,500 list price and boasts a sportier set up with 2 seats, new carbon components and a bespoke livery. As a limited edition product, with only 300 examples being built, the GT3-R costs £237,500 list price and boasts a sportier set up with 2 seats, new carbon components and a bespoke livery.
Without initially understanding where the car would sit in the market, an opportunity to drive it clarified that, and with a thunderous soundtrack and sporty drive it's certainly something special!
