Kellogg's removes racially insensitive artwork from Corn Pops boxes

US news 1 hour ago
While looking at the illustration on the back of a Corn Pops cereal box, Saladin Ahmed noticed that a "brown corn pop" was delegated to a janitorial role and appeared to be a darker shade than the other cartoon cereal pieces. Kellogg's said it has since updated the artwork.

hey why is literally the only brown corn pop on the whole cereal box the janitor? this is teaching kids racism.

To be fair, the brown guy is the only one with any kind of work ethic out of all these lil' pops.

This oversensitive narrative needs to stop. Not everything is racist or xenophobic.

Why add a dark brown color corn pops in the picture cleaning when they don't exsist in the cereal?

or, y’know, ‘cereal company changes box so the only brown character isn’t the janitor’

yes its a tiny thing, but when you see your kid staring at this over breakfast and realize millions of other kids are doing the same…

Was about to dismiss this as oversensitivity. Then I took a closer look. Seriously. The ONLY brown corn pop - the freaking JANITOR.

Is this teaching kids that only certain races can only be a janitor?

Is it me or does the Janitor look like the only responsible "Corn Pop", at a nudist colony who isn't stoned?

Is it possible that just maybe that it was just a coloration mistake?

I really hope this is a discussion about race that goes on all week.
