Breeding pair is a pair of animals which cooperate over time to produce offspring with some form of a bond between the individuals. For example, many birds mate for a breeding season or sometimes for life. They may share some or all of the tasks involved: building a nest, incubating the eggs and feeding and protecting the young. The term is not generally used when a male has a harem (zoology) of females, such as with mountain gorillas.
True breeding pairs are usually found only in vertebrates, but there are notable exceptions, such as the Lord Howe Island stick insect. True breeding pairs are rare in amphibians or reptiles, but fairly common with fish (e.g. discus) and especially birds. Breeding pair arrangements are rare in mammals, where the prevailing patterns are either that the male and female only meet for copulation (e.g. brown bear) or that dominant males have a harem (zoology) of females (e.g. walrus).
Pair may refer to:
For eukaryotes, the term mating is most often used to describe the pairing of opposite-sex or hermaphrodite organisms, usually for the purposes of reproduction.
The term mating is also applied to related processes in bacteria, archaea and viruses. Mating in these cases involves the pairing of individuals, accompanied by the pairing of their homologous chromosomes and then exchange of genomic information leading to formation of recombinant progeny (see Mating systems).
In animals, fertilization is the fusion of both sex cell or gamete.Copulation is the union of the sex organs of two sexually reproducing animals for insemination and subsequent internal fertilization. Mating may also lead to external fertilization, as seen in amphibians, fishes and plants. For the majority of species, mating is between two individuals of opposite sexes. However, for some hermaphroditic species, copulation is not required because the parent organism is capable of self-fertilization (autogamy); for example, banana slugs.

My mated picasso clown fish pair are laying eggs in this video! This is their second batch of eggs. The first batch was 3 weeks ago.
For several years our "confirmed" bachelor, Songster, a Rosy Bourke Parakeet turned down every hen we offered him...just as his uncle, Sweetheart, had. This year, however, it all changed. Songster fell head over heels for a Lutino hen hatched in 2015. Instead of selling her, we named her Blossom and worked to tame her. She's a real sweetheart. Guess Songster knew what he wanted, and she was worth waiting for. Am eager to see what colors they produce next year.

So... I'm dry camping at Ocotillo Wells and I hear prop noise right over head. Definitely military. Look out the windows and don't see anything but there are military bases around the area so no big deal. Then I hear it again. Still don't see anything out the windows. So I get my lazy ass off the couch and go outside. I love watching my tax dollars flying around. :) And what do I see... a V-22 Osprey! First time I've seen one in the wild.

Anyway, so the fry hatched as you saw in the previous vids, and now they are all out and about exploring the tank, eating algae, and it's pretty awesome. The male (Mickey) has lightened up SO MUCH it's crazy... Comments, likes, and questions are always appreciated... Thanks to the people over at cichlidforums for all the advice and help.
In today's episode featuring The Long Dark: I locate a few rocks then attempt to convince deer to hurl itself into the jaws of a wolf. Another blizzard rolls in forcing me to take shelter in the Lookout. The following morning I head next door to greet Mr. Wolf and end up meetings Mrs. Wolf. In this series I seek to explore all of The Long Dark regions to the fullest and survive as long as I can. This is all in preparation of starting a series playing the game’s most difficult mode: Interloper. There may be other channel activities and games along the way but The Long Dark is the priority until the story mode release on August 1st. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show. If you like then gimme a like, if you don't like let me know why. I don't mind if you're rude, I'm kinda rude myself but...
Another backlogged Taiwan video, consisting of footage that I filmed of the rail system when we were paying a visit to the city of Keelung's Maritime Museum. Synopsis: Starting the day at Neili, we find the mated pair of EMU729 and 728, wrapped in a special dressing to advertise Taiwan, on a service northward. From there, we move to Taoyuan. Here is a moment where the "similar yet different" nature of railroading is made apparent: the 12-car EMU500 set makes another appearance, and the northbound (foreground) express train @8:10 is the same service that closed out the "Opening Day at Taoyuan" video. However, the southbound track was suffering from a 10-minute delay on the date this was filmed, courtesy of mechanical issues on the express train @1:15 (for reference, in the Taoyuan video, ...

The gray wolf or grey wolf (Canis lupus[a]), also known as the timber wolf[3][4] or western wolf,[b] is a canine native to the wilderness and remote areas of Eurasia and North America. It is the largest extant member of its family, with males averaging 43–45 kg (95–99 lb), and females 36–38.5 kg (79–85 lb).[6] Like the red wolf, it is distinguished from other Canis species by its larger size and less pointed features, particularly on the ears and muzzle.[7] Its winter fur is long and bushy, and predominantly a mottled gray in color, although nearly pure white, red, or brown to black also occur.[4] As of 2005,[8] 37 subspecies of C. lupus are recognised by MSW3. The gray wolf is the second most specialised member of the genus Canis, after the Ethiopian wolf, as demonstrated by its morpholo...

Wild Animals National Geographic. Coywolf New Coyote-Wolf Hybrid. Coywolf (sometimes called woyote) is an informal term for a canid hybrid descended from coyotes and one of three other North American Canis species, the gray, eastern and red wolf. Coyotes are closely related to eastern and red wolves, having diverged 150,000–300,000 years ago and evolved side by side in North America, thus facilitating hybridization. In contrast, hybrids between coyotes and gray wolves, which are Eurasian in origin and diverged from coyotes 1–2 million years ago, are extremely rare. Such hybridization in the wild has only been confirmed in isolated gray wolf populations in the southern United States.Video shows very rare views of wild coyotes. Shows a mated pair and others displaying behavior that isn't nor...

Demoiselle Cranes are the smallest and second most abundant crane species. They stand approximately three feet tall and weigh about 4-7 pounds. Body plumage is pale bluish gray. A light gray-feathered area extends from the based of the bill to the nape. A long, pure white feather plume stretches from behind the eye to well beyond the head. Demoiselle Cranes are one of two species of cranes that do not have patches of bare, red skin on their heads. The head and neck are black while the feathers of the lower neck are long and pointed and hang below the breast. The inner secondaries are long and ashy gray. Eyes are reddish-orange, bill is short, and legs and toes are black. Males and females are virtually indistinguishable although the males tend to be slightly larger. Demoiselle Cranes are p...
The gray wolf is generally monogamous, with mated pairs usually remaining together for life, unless one of the pair dies. Upon the death of one mated wolf, pairs are quickly re-established. Since males often predominate in any given wolf population, unpaired females are a rarity.[11] If a dispersing male gray wolf is unable to establish a territory or find a mate, he mates with the daughters of already established breeding pairs from other packs. Such gray wolves are termed "Casanova wolves" and, unlike males from established packs, they do not form pair bonds with the females they mate with. Some gray wolf packs may have multiple breeding females this way, as is the case in Yellowstone National Park.[96] Gray wolves also practice alloparental care, in which a wolf pair may adopt the pup o...
