Honoré de Balzac (/ˈbɔːlzæk, ˈbæl-/;French: [ɔ.nɔ.ʁe d(ə) bal.zak]; 20 May 1799 – 18 August 1850) was a French novelist and playwright. His magnum opus was a sequence of short stories and novels collectively entitled La Comédie Humaine, which presents a panorama of French life in the years after the 1815 Fall of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Owing to his keen observation of detail and unfiltered representation of society, Balzac is regarded as one of the founders of realism in European literature. He is renowned for his multi-faceted characters; even his lesser characters are complex, morally ambiguous and fully human. Inanimate objects are imbued with character as well; the city of Paris, a backdrop for much of his writing, takes on many human qualities. His writing influenced many famous writers, including the novelists Émile Zola, Charles Dickens, Gustave Flaubert, and Henry James, as well as important philosophers such as Friedrich Engels. Many of Balzac's works have been made into films, and they continue to inspire other writers.
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

The New Yorker is an American magazine of reportage, commentary, criticism, essays, fiction, satire, cartoons, and poetry. It is published by Condé Nast. Started as a weekly in 1925, the magazine is now published 47 times annually, with five of these issues covering two-week spans.
Although its reviews and events listings often focus on the cultural life of New York City, The New Yorker has a wide audience outside of New York. It is well known for its illustrated and often topical covers, its commentaries on popular culture and eccentric Americana, its attention to modern fiction by the inclusion of short stories and literary reviews, its rigorous fact checking and copyediting, its journalism on politics and social issues, and its single-panel cartoons sprinkled throughout each issue.
The New Yorker debuted on February 21, 1925. It was founded by Harold Ross and his wife, Jane Grant, a New York Times reporter. Ross wanted to create a sophisticated humor magazine that would be different from perceivably "corny" humor publications such as Judge, where he had worked, or Life. Ross partnered with entrepreneur Raoul H. Fleischmann (who founded the General Baking Company) to establish the F-R Publishing Company and established the magazine's first offices at 25 West 45th Street in Manhattan. Ross edited the magazine until his death in 1951. During the early, occasionally precarious years of its existence, the magazine prided itself on its cosmopolitan sophistication. Ross famously declared in a 1925 prospectus for the magazine: "It has announced that it is not edited for the old lady in Dubuque."

It's a holiday weekend on the Jersey Shore and, unbeknownst to anyone, underwater drills have attracted dozens of albino bull sharks to the pier. When a man goes missing, TC (The Complication), Nookie and friends fear the worst and plead with the police chief to close down the beach. It isn't until a famous singer is eaten alive during a performance on the pier that the shark hunt begins. Now, the Preppies must work together with the Guidos in order to save the Jersey Shore and its inhabitants from another vicious slaughter.

Plot: The Unlikely Encounter relates the past and present story of a statue: the Monumental Balzac by Rodin. The film is set in the very same places where the statue's story happened. It also shows the international circulation of an extraordinary work of art from Paris to New York, Caracas and Melbourne. Until his death, Rodin never allowed for the statue to be cast in bronze after the scandal caused by its first public display in 1898 in Paris. Why? A young woman and I start an investigation on that dramatic story as eventful as a 'soap opera'. Our quest stars with Balzac's death. We witness an imaginary dialog between Rodin and Balzac who never met the sculptor.

“The role of literature is to raise questions.” In this in-depth interview, the charismatic Egyptian novelist Alaa al-Aswany shares his thoughts on writing about sex, his close relationship to his novel characters and the impact of literature on history. “It is only literature which could write the human history and not the political one.” The history we have in hand is absolutely political, so what one has to remember is that underneath that history there is also a human history, which transcends politics. It is the force but also the challenge for literature to be able to depict human sentiments in a truthful way, and to pose universal human questions: “The role of literature is not to give answers at all. It’s the science, which gives answers, not the art. The role of literature is t...

Satanic screaming, satanic...
Horrorwood looms before me
Trembling in horrorwood
My shadow darker than the night
I give to you my sinful heart
To make my shadow turn bright
Satanic screaming, satanic
Horrorwood looms before me
Black, green, brown sand color
Before you start to scream out
Black, green, brown wave color
Before you start to cry out
Why'd you take me to horrorwood?
Phantom on your back's getting you down
My shadow engulfs horrorwood
