Noida

Noida, short for the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is a planned city in India under the management of the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (also called NOIDA). It is part of National Capital Region of India. Noida came into administrative existence on 17 April 1976 and celebrates 17 April as "Noida Day". It was set up as part of an urbanisation thrust during the controversial Emergency period (1975–1977). The city was created under the UP Industrial Area Development Act by the initiatives of Sanjay Gandhi. The city has the highest per capita income in the whole National Capital Region. The Noida Authority is among the richest civic bodies in the country. As per provisional reports of Census India, population of Noida in 2011 is 642,381; of which male and female are 352,577 and 289,804 respectively. Noida is famous for excellent roads and considered Country's greenest city.

Noida is located in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh state. The district's administrative headquarters are in the nearby town of Greater Noida. However, the district's highest government official, the District Magistrate (DM), resides in Noida. The city is a part of the Noida Vidhan Sabha (state assembly) constituency and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Lok Sabha constituency). Minister of State for Culture, Tourism of Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma of the BJP is the current MP of Noida. The current MLA who won in the by-elections is Vimla Batham.

Greater Noida

Greater Noida is one of the most planned City with a population of 100,000 in the Gautam Budh Nagar district of the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It comes under the purview of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India. Greater Noida is 30 km from New Delhi and it takes around 30 minutes to go to Greater Noida from New Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.

New developments

Greater Noida was a part of Noida; during the 1990s the Noida extension (now a part of Gautam Buddh Nagar) became what is today known as Greater Noida. Greater Noida has left Gurgaon behind in growth when it comes to absorption or sale of residential units and project launches.

Development is managed by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). Greater Noida is connected to Agra by the six-lane Yamuna Expressway. The annual Indian Grand Prix is held at the Buddh International Circuit which has helped putting the city firmly on the global map.

Greater Noida Cricket Stadium is an under-construction cricket stadium in Greater Noida, India. It is being built along with the Buddh International Circuit.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh (/ˈʊtər prəˈdɛʃ/, Hindi : उत्तर प्रदेश literally "Northern Province"), abbreviated as UP, is a state located in Northern India. It was created on 1 April 1937 as the United Provinces, and was renamed Uttar Pradesh in 1950. Lucknow is the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Allahabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Aligarh, Sonbhadra and Varanasi are known for their industrial importance in the state. On 9 November 2000, a new state, Uttarakhand, was carved out from the Himalayan hill region of Uttar Pradesh.

The state is bordered by Rajasthan to the west, Haryana and Delhi to the northwest, Uttarakhand and the country of Nepal to the north, Bihar to the east, Madhya Pradesh to the south and touches small areas of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh to the south eastern corner. It covers 243,290 square kilometres (93,933 sq mi), equal to 6.88% of the total area of India, and is the fourth largest Indian state by area. With over 200 million inhabitants in 2011, it is the most populous state in the country as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world. Hindi is the official and most widely spoken language in its 75 districts. Uttar Pradesh is the third largest Indian state by economy, with a GDP of ₹9763 billion (US$140 billion). Agriculture and service industries are the largest parts of the state's economy. The service sector comprises travel and tourism, hotel industry, real estate, insurance and financial consultancies.
