Atomkrig-st 7"

Atomkrig come from Lisbon, Portugal and include people who were/(are?) in mighty Sustëem Kooma, who's Another Victim, Another War was a great piece of or D-beat punk, a pure early Warvictims worship and one of my favorite releases of the last year, Atomkrig continue the same tradition of D-beat and recorded siz tracks in May/August 2015 for a 7" that will be released by Crucificados Pelo Sistema in May/June. Music wise Atomkrig deliver rough D-beat crust but without the deep and clear Warvictims inspiration. This is full of power and anger typical three chord D-beat with decent for the genre sound quality. As i said many time in the past in simillar cases, there is no any novelty nor reinvention of genre here but pure and solid D-beat as we known it. Thats it. Members of band are/were also in bands such as F.D.P.D.C., Reltih, Barba de Sapo, A Tree of Signs, Disthrone, Scum Liquor and Extreme Unction. This is courently available in bandcamp.

Warbombs-st tape

Warbombs is a D-beat raw punk band from Barcelos/Braga, Portugal and here's their debute tape, released by Raw'n'Roll Records and limited to 100 copies (first 20 will have a special promo pack including Tape+Tee), Musically this is another Discharge worship in the well trodden path we know from so many bands but also blending elements of the Extreme Noise Terror crustcore ferociousness. The eight songs and 8:35" of total running time deliver fast paced D-beat inspired by the usual suspects (Discharge, Varukers, etc), shouted vocals and lyrics about the familiar topics for the genre (war, corruption etc), there are typical three chord riffs with some nice ideas transformed into catchy riffworks, basic bass lines and decent sound quality. This is fast and aggressive and some Extreme Noise Terror hints pop up here and there. All and all this is another piece of D-beat, made with passion and love for the genre. The tape was released by Raw n Roll Rex and you can get it Hellprod, it is also available for streaming in bandcamp

Sustëem Kooma-Another victim, another war

Sustëem Kooma come from Portugal, according to some info from their fb page members have Esthonian origin they must be a new band, there's no much info in their farcebook and this recording must be their first release,  it came out in December '14 and its a blast of D-beat: Sustëem Kooma revive the sound of early Warvictims and deliver D-beat raw punk with the same distorted guitar sound, riff work and deep low (male/female) throaty vocals, someone could say this is a forgotten Warvictims recording from mid-late '00's. Lyrics deal with the usual war themed topics and sound wise everything is perfect, The recording (st or Another Victim, Another War) is available in bandcamp, i didn't see any info about physical release. All and all this is agreat piece of d-beat punk, raw and chaotic, brutal and aggressive. For fans of Warvictims and the likes. I hope this will come out as vinyl and wait for more by them

Animalesco, o Método-st (2013)

Animalesco, o Método come from Portugal, they formed in 2012 by former member of Sem Talento and here is the first ep recorded and self-released in 2013. Animalesco.. started as one man project by M. who plays all instruments in this recording and he was joined by two other guys who sing. Music wise there is a varety of influences here, from old school death metal and old thrash metal to scandinavian and British hardcore, all given in a raw and brutal way, accompanied by brutal vocals and makes the whole shit stand between crust and metal. The guitar delivers metal edged riffs, drumming is fantic hyperfast and more into metal than the usual D-beat driven hardcore, the whole release runs in fast speed all the time, the ending part of last song is the only part the drum slowers the beat and  takes some breaths before the finale. There is a crust/hardcore feeling and also the death/thrash metal craze and energy,  the singers scream and growl in Portugese and they share vocal duties in nice way, sound of recording is decent.  There is a cover but no artwork on it, (why? a nice cover is always a plus and gets you into the feeling of songs). The ep consists of five songs and lasts nearly sixteen minutes, this is free for streaming/downlading in bandcamp (incl. lyrics) and also there is a download link provided by the band. Animalesco, o Método future plans include a new ep in 2014 and some concerts. Thanks to M for sending this, cheers mate!

Revengance-Complacent Complacency 7"

Revengeance come from Lisboa and Viana do Castelo, Portugal and Complacent Complacency (Ruin Records) is their latest ep. We know the band from a post in spring of '12 when i posted John Q. Citizen demo tape, here. Their discography includes also North/South Go! split tape with Tinnitus. Complacent Complacency comes on vinyl and  250 copies on printed foldover sleeve and delivers twelve songs of raging fastcore - powerviolence in the vein of  Dropdead, Negative Approach and others. This is fast and frantic with male/female vocals there are only a few slower/midpaced breaks, the record mostly runs in fast and faster speed, lyrically they deliver their wrath against a collapsing society and the despair in front of  present's misery and the darkness f upcoming future. Just like the other releases of band, Complacent Complacency is available for streaming and downloading in bandcamp (lyrics incuded), mediafire link is provided by the band, thanx to the band for sending this and my apologies for the delay

Miss Cadaver-Discography

This is Punk/Crust/Thrash/Crossover fromPortugal: "MISS CADAVER is a project from Arruda dos Vinhos, village on the outskirts of Lisbon, born in September 2009. They released a homonymous demo in 2010 with four songs, in 2011 the album "Morte Ao Fado" with 13 tracks, and in 2012, the EP "Makinas & Cadaveres" with six songs.
Founded by Ruy (MACHINERGY, BICEFALO, IMUNITY, D2A2N, CRUSTIFICTION), here in charge of the whole composition and instruments (except drums), comes after the end of COLUNA DE FERRO, an anarcho punk act from Lisbon where he played guitar during their short existence (eight months) during 2008. Soon after the end of CxDxFx in January 2009, and feeling the need to continue the message and in Portuguese, quickly composed four songs for the debut demo-tape "Miss Cadaver", released in 2010 by Degradagem Recs.
In 2011 comes the debut album "Morte Ao Fado", released in partnership with Fukk That! Records and Anoise Recs in professional tape format. Composed of 13 tracks (12 originals and a version of "Phobia For Change" from the British act Doom), "Morte Ao Fado" marks a notable evolution in terms of composition, more diverse and edgy, but with their ever-present basic influences, Doom, Ratos de Porao, The Exploited, Extreme Noise Terror, Napalm Death, Simbiose, Censurados, among others.
In early 2012 is released the split-tape "Makinas & Cadaveres" along with the band Konad and a partnership with Mountain Goat Productions. Six new songs pointing and putting the finger in the wound on a more aggressive and faster approach than MISS CADAVER previous songs but never forgetting the sense of melody and simplicity.
In November 2012 is released “MUSICA Para o Funeral de Um Pais e do Mundo”, a compilation that gathers the first three MISS CADAVER tapes of the quite prolific period 2010-2012.
Meanwhile, "Guerrilla Punk", the next tape with six new tracks composed and already in the process of recording is scheduled to be released in early 2013.
Composed too is already the second album to be called "Manifestvm Raivus". It will be a discharge of pure anger in an album further enhanced with speed, mid-tempo and a lot of melody. The lyrics will be even more corrosive but there will be room also for a few more relaxed moments, something that accompanies this project from the beginning. For those who liked "Morte Ao Fado" will enjoy equally or even more "Manifestvm Raivus". This work will mark a new stage and a new level of this pure DIY project"

Revengeance - John Q. Citizen Demo Tape 2012

Thrashing guitar riffs, bashing drums, dual vocal attack, wrath and furry: This is Revengeance from Lisboa and Viana do Castelo, Portugal and John Q. Citizen is their demo tape, their discography includes also a split tape with Porto grinders Tinnitus on Degradagem Records. John Q. Citizen delivers eleven songs and nearly thirteen minutes of powerviolenc-esque fastcore with frantic fast drumming, thrashing guitar attack, rough male and shouted punky female attack revealing their thoughts and anger against society and crappy shit of life (well, i guess Amore Pero lyrics will hit the political correctness...). All songs are fast and sometimes faster, only a few slower parts until the next outbreak. Black Flag, Dropdead, Spazz, Negative Approach are among their influence but also Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror and many other bands. The demo tape is available for free in the bandcamp (you can read the lyrics while listening the tracks) and so does their side from the split with Tinnitus. Give it a listening and click a like in their facebook of just say them Olá! or fuck off or whatever. Mdfr dnld link is provided by the band (thanks!)

Dokuga-Demo 2007

The city of Porto in Portugal is widely known for the famous wines but now punx will remember it for Dokuga: A four piece D-beat hardcore act that was formed around 2007, this is their six track demo that was recorded the same year, i don't know if there are any other releases. on their myspace there are two pre-mixed new tracks. The demo lasts for about fifteen minutes and delivers rough D-beat and as the band says it is infuenced by UK 's and Japanese D Beat lords. The sound is descent with thick guitar sound, rough vocals and fast beat and delivers power and anger. All tracks are in the same level, not any fillers here, personally E espera do caos is my fav tack because of guitar's few crust hints. As conclusion this is a honest effort made with love and passion, hope to hear more of them

Utopium-Demo 2008

This is sick grindcore from Portugal: Utopium send their growling greetings from Lisboa, they are a five piece grind act and this is their 2008 three track demo cd, offered for free in their myshit: As expected this is sick and tormenting noise with hyperspeeding blastbeats, noisy guitar and monstrous vocals. Songs move in high speed , in Harvest the harshness they attempt to play some slower parts before the usual storm start raging while the rest of tracks are from start to the end in the familiar grindcore inferno. As conclusion this nothing less than the typical noisy grind delivering a wall of noise and i m glad they are not into the gory/medical lyrics trap. The band offers this shit for free in their myshit. There are some new tracks there, give 'em a listening

Reaching Hand-Demo 2007

Reaching Hand come from Portugal, they are a four piece female fronted hardcore band, they formed in summer of 2007 and they recorded a six track cd-r. In 2009 they released Threshold ep on Thorp Records from USA.
The demo comes in a cd-r and lasts for about 9:40". Tracks are full of energy and power with nice breaks and beat changes and the sound quality is excellent. Artwork is simple and white color dominates in the package, music wise they deliver a blending of heaviness and intensity of 80's hardcore, there are some nice melodies thrown here and there and Sofia's vocals are angry and full of power. Thorp Rec.s says they are close to bands such as Comeback Kid, Reign Supreme and Have Heart or traditional youth crew bands (Carry On etc) I m not into these bands and this genre in general(im too deep into crust pit i guess) but honestly, Reaching Hand sound preety nice and strong and deliver the appropriate blending of passion, aggression and melody, if you aer into this kind of hardcore give it a try

Etacarinae-demo

Powerful and melodic apocalyptic crust from Lisboa, Portugal/Barcelona Spain: Heavily influenced by Tragedy, they manage to stand above the bunch of Tragedy clones by delivering some interesting and powerful tunes.
I came lately to these cats so i don't know much about them: They recently released "In these dark times" lp which is a great record, they also have a st ep.
A split with the crusties Asedio is on the way and will come out in a few months.
I don't know the year this demo was recorded,(any help is appreciated) but seems to be the same recording the the st ep. It delivers a rough version of Etacarinae's cosmic apocalyptic crust in a excellent blending of Tragedy and Japanese hardcore (Bastard, Death Side and the likes). The band unleashes the dark melodies helped by the good sound quality and rhythms are in the usual fast/faster/some slower levels. They don't offer a novelty or a new crust sub-subgenre but they put their own crust identity in what they do in a amazing way.
I believe "In these dark times" is one of the best crust records for 2008 and this demo was the beginning of a great band
Tracks:
1:Seasonable piece of shit
2:Whispers
3:Nightmare
4:Boredom
5:Swallowed
6:Fools
7:Click to oblivion
