A guiding principle of the partnership is the joint effort to help countries eradicate poverty and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 universal goals to achieve a more peaceful, prosperous and sustainable future by 2030.
Project: Strengthening Participatory and Accountable Governance
UNDP is assisting Iraq to implement national reform plans. This includes support to institutional reform and good governance through modernizing the Council of Representatives’ internal procedures, reinforcing its oversight role, and fostering inclusive participation in legislative processes and public policies. UNDP is also supporting the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Provincial Councils.
