Alphonse Gabriel Capone (znany jako Al Capone, Scarface[1]) (ur. 17 stycznia 1899 w Nowym Jorku, zm. 25 stycznia 1947 w Palm Island, Miami) -- amerykański gangster pochodzenia włoskiego.Capone wcześnie rozpoczął działalność przestępczą. Jako nastolatek należał do dwóch gangów: Brooklyn Rippers oraz Forty Thieves Juniors. Później przystąpił do jednego z największych gangów -- Five Points Gang, na którego czele stał Frankie Yale. Początkowo Capone pracował jako barman i bramkarz w jednym z lokali Yale'a. Właśnie w tym okresie zaczęto na niego wołać „Scarface" (Twarz z blizną), ponieważ podczas bójki w barze został kilka razy zraniony nożem w twarz i po tym zdarzeniu zostały mu do końca życia głębokie blizny.

Capone ścigany był przez agenta federalnego, Eliota Nessa, i utworzoną przez niego grupę jedenastu agentów, z powodu nieprzekupności zwanych Nietykalnymi. Ujawniono również źródła nielegalnych dochodów Capone, a następnie oskarżono go o niepłacenie z tego tytułu podatków.
Jego proces odbył się w 1931 roku. Został uznany za winnego pięciu z dwudziestu dwóch zarzutów dotyczących unikania płacenia podatków. Sąd skazał go w sumie na jedenaście lat pozbawienia wolności. Musiał też zapłacić 80 tysięcy dolarów grzywny i kosztów procesu.
Grób Ala Capone
W ciągu kilku lat pobytu w więzieniu wpływy Capone w światku przestępczym gwałtownie spadły. Podupadły także jego interesy. Al stracił na wadze, jego zdrowie fizyczne i psychiczne uległo znacznemu pogorszeniu, przede wszystkim z powodu demencji. Dolegliwości, na które cierpiał -- postępujące problemy z pamięcią, logicznym rozumowaniem, wysławianiem się oraz kontrolowaniem emocji -- są typowymi objawami trzeciego stadium syfilisu[2].
21 stycznia 1947 Capone doznał udaru mózgu. Trzy dni później zachorował na zapalenie płuc. Zmarł 25 stycznia 1947[3]. Został pochowany na cmentarzu Mount Olivet w Chicago, między grobami jego ojca i brata. W marcu 1950 roku szczątki wszystkich trzech osób zostały przeniesione na cmentarz Mount Carmel w Hillside, leżącym na zachód od Chicago.

Kevin Costner stars as Ness, a federal agent who has come to Chicago during the Prohibition Era, when corruption in the local police department is rampant. One night, discouraged, he meets a veteran patrolman, Jimmy Malone (Sean Connery), and discovers that the acerbic Irishman is the one honest man he's been seeking. Capone (film)
Capone (1975) is an American crime film directed by Steve Carver and stars Ben Gazzara, Harry Guardino, Susan Blakely and Sylvester Stallone in an early film appearance. The movie is a biography of the infamous Al Capone, although much of it is supposedly fiction.
The film was released on DVD in the U.S. for the first time on March 29, 2011 through Shout! Factory and has been available in Europe for some time.
Plot
The story is of the rise and fall of the Chicago gangster Al Capone and the control he exhibited over the city during the prohibition years.
Starting in 1918, Capone hangs out with other gangs until he is found by racketeers Johnny Torrio (Harry Guardino) and Frankie Yale (John Cassavetes). Then he pushes his way into the Chicago underworld, battling mobsters Hymie Weiss and George "Bugs" Moran, while romancing flapper Iris Crawford (Susan Blakely) and becoming kingpin of Chicago crime with the help his ambitious bodyguard Frank "The Enforcer" Nitti (played by Sylvester Stallone).

Alphonse Gabriel Capone (znany jako Al Capone, Scarface[1]) (ur. 17 stycznia 1899 w Nowym Jorku, zm. 25 stycznia 1947 w Palm Island, Miami) -- amerykański gangster pochodzenia włoskiego.Capone wcześnie rozpoczął działalność przestępczą. Jako nastolatek należał do dwóch gangów: Brooklyn Rippers oraz Forty Thieves Juniors. Później przystąpił do jednego z największych gangów -- Five Points Gang, na którego czele stał Frankie Yale. Początkowo Capone pracował jako barman i bramkarz w jednym z lokali Yale'a. Właśnie w tym okresie zaczęto na niego wołać „Scarface" (Twarz z blizną), ponieważ podczas bójki w barze został kilka razy zraniony nożem w twarz i po tym zdarzeniu zostały mu do końca życia głębokie blizny.
30 grudnia 1918 ożenił się z Mae Josephine Coughlin. Krótko przed ślubem urodził im się syn Albert Francis „Sonny" Capone. Niedługo po ślubie para przeprowadziła się do Amityville na Long Island.
Capone cały czas pracował dla Yale'a. Przed przeprowadzką do Chicago prawdopodobnie dokonał co najmniej dwóch zabójstw. Capone ścigany był przez agenta federalnego, Eliota Nessa, i utworzoną przez niego grupę jedenastu agentów, z powodu nieprzekupności zwanych Nietykalnymi. Ujawniono również źródła nielegalnych dochodów Capone, a następnie oskarżono go o niepłacenie z tego tytułu podatków.
Jego proces odbył się w 1931 roku. Został uznany za winnego pięciu z dwudziestu dwóch zarzutów dotyczących unikania płacenia podatków. Sąd skazał go w sumie na jedenaście lat pozbawienia wolności. Musiał też zapłacić 80 tysięcy dolarów grzywny i kosztów procesu.
Grób Ala Capone
W ciągu kilku lat pobytu w więzieniu wpływy Capone w światku przestępczym gwałtownie spadły. Podupadły także jego interesy. Al stracił na wadze, jego zdrowie fizyczne i psychiczne uległo znacznemu pogorszeniu, przede wszystkim z powodu demencji. Dolegliwości, na które cierpiał -- postępujące problemy z pamięcią, logicznym rozumowaniem, wysławianiem się oraz kontrolowaniem emocji -- są typowymi objawami trzeciego stadium syfilisu[2].
21 stycznia 1947 Capone doznał udaru mózgu. Trzy dni później zachorował na zapalenie płuc. Zmarł 25 stycznia 1947[3]. Został pochowany na cmentarzu Mount Olivet w Chicago, między grobami jego ojca i brata. W marcu 1950 roku szczątki wszystkich trzech osób zostały przeniesione na cmentarz Mount Carmel w Hillside, leżącym na zachód od Chicago.

7. In 1918, Capone met an Irish girl named Mary "Mae" Coughlin at a dance. On December 4, 1918, Mae gave birth to their son, Albert "Sonny" Francis. Capone and Mae married that year on December 30.
6. While Al's game was smuggling illegal liquor into cities, his brother's racket was, ironically, stopping people from smuggling illegal liquor into cities (cop).
5. Capone got his "Scarface" nickname after a bar brawl in Coney Island that left him with three large slashes on the left side of his face.
4. The car that Al Capone owned, an impressive bullet-proof Cadillac, was later used to protect President Franklin D. Roosevelt after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
3. One of the most famous prisons in the world was a home for Al Capone for about four and a half years. Alcatraz was the place where the most dangerous and most notorious criminals were imprisoned.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Like the TV series that shared the same title, The Untouchables (1987) was an account of the battle between gangster Al Capone and lawman Eliot Ness, this time in the form of a feature film boasting big stars, a big budget, and a script from respected playwright David Mamet. Kevin Costner stars as Ness, a federal agent who has come to Chicago during the Prohibition Era, when corruption in the local police department is rampant. His mission is to put crime lord Capone (Robert De Niro) out of business, but Capone is so powerful and popular that Ness is not taken seriously by the law or the press. One night, discouraged, he meets a veteran patrolman, Jimmy Malone (Sean Connery), and discovers that the acerbic Irishman is the one honest man he's been seeking. Malone has soon helped Ness recruit a gunslinger rookie, George Stone (Andy Garcia), and, joined by nebbish accountant Oscar Wallace (Charles Martin Smith), the men doggedly pursue Capone and his illegal interests. At first a laughingstock, Ness soon has Capone outraged over his and Malone's sometimes law-bending tactics, and the vain mobster strikes back in vicious style. Ultimately, it is the most unexpected and minor of crimes, tax evasion, which proves Capone's undoing. All of the credits for The Untouchables boasted big names, including music from Ennio Morricone and costumes by Giorgio Armani. Director Brian De Palma continued his tradition of including a homage to past masters of the cinema with a taut stairway shoot-out reminiscent of a similar sequence in Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (1925).
