Warsaw’s Anarchist Black Cross invites you to 4th Anti-Prison Days (Poland)
Warsaw’s Anarchist Black Cross invites you to 4th Anti-prison Days!
The topic of prison system in Poland is still considered a social taboo and it is still common to paint a black picture of those behind bars. At the same time, the authorities are enforcing the policy of fear to justify the implementation of gradually more strict laws aiming at all those opposing their authoritarian intentions.
In west Europe and the us the anti-prison campaigns are naturally connected with social fights in others fields: fighting for workers’ laws, fighting against land usurpation and elimination of small farmers, supporting immigrants, protecting environment, fighting for the tenants rights and many more. In Poland if this topic exists at all, it is still a newborn rather than taking its toll.
Meanwhile, only in 2016 in Poland more then 70 thousand people were imprisoned in 64 remand centres and 84 prisons.. What that system actually generates is more pathology, deprivation of dignity, violence and modern slavery. This is not a joke – as many as 22,5% of those imprisoned are forced to work for free, and the new amendment to the prison system law, that have been forced through not long ago, will increase those numbers fast. Those imprisoned will have to work even more for the glory of capitalism, for the growth of “our” economy, similar to the prisoners building Kulczyk’s the so called “Highway of Freedom”. Does it constitute to conditions in which they are kept? By no means. They are still treated as an underclass, dregs of society to be ashamed of, to be stripped of what is left of their humanity, to be humiliated, beaten, abused, and deprived of hope. Is it still unbelievable that statistically every second day someone behind bars tried to commit suicide?

Santiago, Chile: University Animal Experimentation Laboratory Trashed, 120 Rats Liberated
During the first week of October, 2017, persons unknown were able to enter the University of Chile’s science faculty at the Juan Gomez Milla Campus on Macul and Grecia avenues.
After having previously identified a laboratory for animal experimentation, the unknown persons entered it, released the animals imprisoned there (mainly rodents) and destroyed the infrastructure of the lab along with all the ‘research’ documents that were inside it. The unknown persons managed to escape without being
detected or identified.During the days that followed, it was confirmed that 120 laboratory rodents were released, they were being experimented on to test the physiological effects of climate change. The ‘Institutional Committee for the Care and Use of Animals’ (CICUA) – the name of the organization responsible for approving, supervising and certifying the use of animals for experimentation – stated that the animals were not being abused, and also noted that “most of the released rodents suffer from afflictions and will not survive for long since they require the assistance of humans for their well-being and survival”.

(Netherlands)-Anarchist Wallpaper #3 October 2017: Sabotage the surveillance state! Let’s all be perpetrators.
Here is the third edition of the Anarchist Wallpaper! This time on surveillance, the dragnet law and the necessity of sabotage. Download the wallpaper, print and circulate it!
Download the wallpaper: here
Sabotage the surveillance state! Let’s all be perpetrators.
On surveillance, the dragnet law and the necessity of sabotage.
You are being watched; on the street, at the train station, on social media, through your phone calls and e-mail correspondence. The state and its collaborators desire total control, whether you’ve ‘done something’ or not, everyone is a suspect. As per the 1st of January 2018 the intelligence agencies will be granted new powers. They are permitted to expand their information collecting beyond specific suspects and so implement mass surveillance. In the eyes of the state everyone is a suspect. So let us all be perpetrators and accomplices!
Last June the First Chamber approved the so called ‘dragnet law’. This law gives intelligence agencies more powers than they already had. They will be able to monitor and store digital data on a massive scale. They will also be able to hack all automated devices such as phones, laptops and tablets without a person being a ‘suspect’. A secret DNA database can be created to store anyone’s DNA, again without being ‘suspected’ of having done something. All stored data can be shared with foreign intelligence agencies without prior analysis by the domestic intelligence agencies.
The dragnet law is a big step for the state towards total control and fits in the recent trend of repression such as forced identification, camera surveillance and preventive stop and searches by the police. The new law, like others in recent years, is enforced with the excuse of security risks and the growing need to protect citizens from terrorism. The actual implementation of this law can be found in poorer neighbourhoods, and will be used against people who do not conform to the white status quo. In poor neighbourhoods like the Schilderswijk in The Hague camera surveillance, stop and searches by the police and intimidation are rampant. The information collected by new state methods will be used against people who resist this harassment. A growingly repressive state does not ensure less terror attacks, quite the opposite. A repressive state ensures exclusion and protects only those who claim to have financial interests; government institutions, big companies and powerful institutions. The rest of us are considered a constant threat and to be constant suspects while we are chased, controlled and humiliated. The mechanisms of state control seem to be untouchable, but nothing is further from the truth. Every system has its weaknesses and every system is susceptible to sabotage.
A control mechanism developed and created to protect a system that only protects the interests of capitalist institutions is a direct attack on us. And an attack on us cannot remain unanswered. Let’s take down the cameras on street corners that form the eyes of the state. Let’s burn the cables and power supplies of the servers and computers that monitor and store our information. Let’s attack the companies who make their profits through this control mania. Let’s sabotage the state so we can live. If we are all suspects, let’s all be perpetrators!
Freedom for Peike!
During the G20-protest last July in Hamburg thousands of people took to the street to protest the meeting of the leaders of the 20 most industrialised nations. The protests encountered heavy police repression that started a riot. The German state seized this opportunity to attack and criminalise autonomous structures.
The German news website Indymedia Linksunten has been banned. More than 100 people were arrested under whom Peike from Amsterdam. Peike was the first to go on trial and was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months imprisonment for allegedly throwing two beer bottles at police officers. The prosecution demanded 1 year and 7 months, the judge made it 2 years and 7 months. Peike is momentarily imprisoned in Hamburg. Freedom for Peike and all the prisoners! Mexico: Call from Anarchist Prisoner Fernando Bárcenas to Support the Autonomous Prison Library Project
10.10.17: To the rebellious compañerxs
I write to all those who build their paths of autonomy, to remember that within these walls we try to steal our precious time from the machinery, generating moments of clarity in a suffocating world…that is how, in recent years, proposals for resistance have emerged, from isolated struggles in forgotten areas, screams that are lost in the darkness, to moments of informal organization in the daily life of the open regime, in other words in the general population, where almost three years agao the idea emerged to create an alternative space where prisoners could show that there is already enough of such annihilation, we know that the prison system is designed to subject our minds and bodies to the structure of commerce, so we are not going to ask them to change, we know that money is the language of the powerful and for that reason we have no requests, we just want to self-manage our lives within these walls because we know that all their social rehabilitation programs seek to create are submissive, repentant, guilty beings who will accept slave labor at the hands of prison officials.

Pyotr Ryabov, anarchist philosopher imprisoned for 6 days in Belarus, declared a hungerstrike
October 11, the city court of Baranovichi, Belarus, sentenced Russian anarchist Pyotr Ryabov. Petr, an anarchist philosopher and a lecturer of the department of Philosophy in the Moscow State Pedagogical University was sentenced to 6 days of prison for “minor hooliganism” and “distribution of extremist materials” (statutes 17.1 and 17.11 of the Codex of misdemeanors of Belarus). The court has declared the Belarusian anarchist journal “Svoboda ili Smert issue 6” (published in 2007) an extremist material. However, these were trumped up charges: the real reason of the arrest was the lecture on anarchist movement. Ryabov came to Baranovichi to give this lecture.
Ryabov was arrested on his way back to Moscow at the Baranovichi train station. He was supposed to give a talk at another event in Moscow.
After the sentence, Ryabor declared a hungerstrike.

Greece , Athens :VIDEO from the actions for solidarity to Kostas B. ,16 year old arrested and tortured by the Greek cops.
(September 23rd, Exarhia) Gathering, demo and attack on Exarhia police
staton,
(October 7th, Pedion tou Areos) Demo towards GADA [Athens police HQ],
attack on riot cop units on Harilaou Trikoupi street and clashes in
Exarhia.
On September 16th 2017, a day of protests in memory of Pavlos Fyssas who
was murdered by neonazis of the Golden Dawn, 16 year-old Kostas B. was
arrested during the clashes in Exarhia.
The 16year-old was tortured before he was even transferred to GADA
(athens police hq). The oppressive brutality however did not stop there.
The result was him being beaten even worse within this frame of torture.
Specifically, Kostas B. was tortured in duration and systematically
after his arrest while he was handcuffed behind his back. While he was
cuffed on the ground almost unconscious by the continuous blows by the
riot cop unit that arrested him on the corner of Harilaou Trikoupi and
Valtetsiou street, cops stamped on his hands trying to break his fingers
and kicked him in the head until he eventually passed out.
According to confirmed reports, he was unconscious while being
transferred to GADA but before they took him to the cells he regained
consciousness inside the cop car and was injured by another passing car
in his attempt to escape.
This resulted in him being immediately transferred to KAT hospital and
be put in intensive care. In order for his organism to recover from the
ferocity of the blows and because of the multiple fractures, he was put
into an induced comma for a few days. Of course the effort to cover-up
such an incident by the government apparatus is not at all accidental,
since they feared the reactions that could arise from a “new
Grigoropoulos”, they acted immediately. As it became known, the minister
of Public Order Nikos Toskas, went to the hospital within an hour. This
tactic continues till today with the persistence to not publicizing
material from Alexandras avenue and the withholding of the forensic
examination.

Besançon, France: School of commerce solidarity attack and tags on the “En Marche” premises
Blows of avenging hammers
In the night of Monday to Tuesday, we destroyed several windows of the business school, located just a few steps away from the chamber of commerce, industry and tourism.
This small attack on a facet of this world of exploitation and submission is a wink to those accused of the burning of the police car in quai de Valmy, in particular to Kara and Krem. Meanwhile, it has been learned that the two comrades remain in jail. We will therefore continue to attack domination and not watch justice do its work in silence.
For a world without cash or cops!
[Published on indymedia nantes, Thursday 12 October 2017]
NdSAD: it seems that this attack was mentioned in articles in the local press on the degradation aimed at the parliamentary permanence of Fanette Charvier, member of the LREM party, the same night. One can read one of them on the website of Attaque. This communiqué therefore provides some details on the attack and its motivations, as well as put an end to the insinuations of journalists as to possible (limited) paint damage on the IMEA business school.

Italy – Two communiques from anarchist Salvatore Vespertino (Ghespe)
Here are two communiques by Ghespe, written with a month between them.
I was arrested along with 7 other people in the umpteenth Digos and ROS operation. Imagination never fails that scum (wish their health also failed them) and anyone who even just glanced at the newspapers knows very well how they went crazy this time too. But it must be said that although the papers read like a thriller (pretty third rate), they mention 3 events that have little to do with the imagination: the Molotov that flew over the Carabinieri barracks in Rovezzano in April, the ‘device’ that exploded at the casapound bookshop ‘il bargello’, where a specialized police bomb disposal expert lost an eye and a hand, and the fact that all those arrested are anarchists. Up until now Paska and I are the only ones to be held in jail.
One of the things in the papers that struck me, but didn’t surprise me, can be found between the lines of the document of validation of the arrest: …the overall behaviour of the person under investigation and the fact he continues to mingle in anarchist milieus… Personally, as I live my anarchist tension, I’ve always taken the possibility of imprisonment into account; and now, without any victimization, here I am! What to say… the struggle continues in every kind of prison… for anarchy.
Greetings
Ghespe
Our passion for freedom is stronger than any cell.

Hi folks,
I’ve been in the 5th unit since the first day of my imprisonment, and didn’t go through ‘arrivals’. I’m starting to get used to the place and to know the other prisoners. At first the unit was quite animated, with daily uproar even if mainly between prisoners (sic!). Food is not edible 3 times out of 4 and on Sundays there’s no dinner, so those who can’t buy anything…

Vandalism of the store of Robert Proule, member of La Meute – Canada
Anonymous submission to MTL Counter-info
In the early morning of September 30, with the help of a fire extinguisher filled with paint, we repainted brown the exterior façade of JS RP Tech Informatique, owned by Robert Proule, located at 6117 Bélanger. Robert Proule is an active member of La Meute, involved with security.
Contrary to what they chant in the media, La Meute is an Islamophobic and racist group, using a media strategy to spread far-right, anti-immigrant, conservative ideologies, and which promotes white supremacy. Almost all public personalities of the right-wing in Quebec are members. Its idols being politicians like Marine le Pen and, Donald Trump. La Meute, with populist discourses that democratically demand the “freedom of expression”, revives the currents of the far-right in a frightening way. Several members are inspired by figures advocating for racist murder and the return of slavery, such as the KKK or Adolf Hitler.

USA – Free Kara and Krem! Two Walls Painted in Chicago
After being held for the past seventeen months in the largest prison in Europe, without so much as a trial date to give her solace, Kara Wild is now back in grueling prison purgatory waiting for her verdict to be announced on October 11th.
Kara is an anarchist from Chicago currently on trial in Paris facing three years in prison for allegedly burning a cop car (with the cop still inside!) during anti-labor law protests in 2016. So far the trial has been as one would expect; shoddy evidence and laughable statements from the state, including the argument that the police are a discriminated minority in society, a clear attempt at setting legal precedent to equate anti-police protests to Islamophobic or homophobic attacks.
In light of the state’s preposterous narrative, we set out to do some re-writing of our own. At twilight in Chicago, we painted FREE KARA WILD and FREE KREM twenty five feet high in the Wicker Park and Little Village neighborhoods, giving new life to depressing brick walls. Our hearts burn along with the 50 cop cars set ablaze by our comrades in Grenoble (eastern France). We stand with comrades everywhere weaponizing their friendships to lash out against the apparatus which threatens to keep our friends in cages.
Additional solidarity actions explicitly linked to this ongoing trial in Paris have been manifested world wide.

Greece , Athens: Regarding the letter-bomb attack against ex-prime minister and technocrat Loukas Papadimos
Since the following news did not get a wide distribution outside Greece in the international counter-information networks when it appeared in May 2017, and as the corporate news also attempted to mitigate and ‘play-down’ the impact of this attack, we rely this info to highlight that everything continues and nothing is over.
On 25 May, on the first day of the 2017 NATO summit taking place in Brussels, Belgium, whilst being driven back to his home at 6:30 in the early evening, the ex-prime minister of Greece, Loukas Papadimos was injured in a successful high-impact letter-bomb attack that remains unsolved and unclaimed. The incident took place in central Athens, a few blocks from the Athens Polytechnic in the central part of that city. The device detonated inside an armoured-car with accompanying police security detail, and humiliated those security services and the authorities who shut down the area containing the vehicles transporting Papadimos, beginning a counter-terror investigation.
Loukas Papadimos is now a senior economist, former governor of the Bank of Greece and former vice-president of the European Central Bank. The letter-bomb arrived at his home after undergoing checks which did not detect the explosive material. Two security officers serving as driver and bodyguard to Papadimos were also injured in the explosion. The explosion of the device inside the customised vehicle added to the pressure of the bomb, leading to injuries to Papadimos’ eyes, chest, abdomen and legs and he was brought to the hospital for surgery for the non-life threatening wounds. The other victims of the bomb also were taken to hospital suffering less severe injuries. The attack was hailed by the authorities as the worst act of violence against a senior figure in the Greek establishment in decades.
The Greek State is terrified that the operational methods have developed and evolved to defeat their security apparatus. If this high profile target can be reached then all of them are in reach.
Technocrats, ticks, parasites – The violence and fear will come to your homes as you try to inject it into ours – Long live anarchy.

Call-out for a Week of International Action Against Speciesism and Its World! Oct 30-Nov 5, 2017
An international call for a week of action against speciesism, from October 30 and November 5, has been launched through social media. It encourages folks to carry out all kinds of actions, from street propaganda (paintings, posters, distribution of leaflets …) to workshops/forums and debates in your meeting spaces, to self-organizing various actions against specific businesses with the tools that each person may consider appropriate, to mass mobilizations and demonstrations.
May each one be organized as it suits each one involved, and may they shake all the cages. In memory of Barry Horne and all the human and nonhuman victims of speciesism and domination.
Both individual and collective measures of struggle are valid; from diffusion actions to mobilizations.
Solidarity between species is not just a written word!
(The call out translated in several languages: In Italian, English, Spanish, Basque, French, Turkish, Kurdish, German and Portuguese versions

EN/SPAN/IT/GR/ [Italy] Call for International Solidarity on 16th of November 2017— ”Scripta Manent” Trial
On November 16th, at 10 am, in front of the high security court in Turin, will be held the first hearing of the trial ”Scripta Manent,” and it will be a long-running case, in which 22 anarchist comrades are charged, and seven of them are still in prison. The repressive State apparatus accuses a part of the anarchist movement
of attacking it with the practices of: destructive direct action against
its structures and its men, realization and distribution of anarchist
publications, and support for revolutionary prisoners.
The theorem of prosecutor Sparagna is that the positions of accused
comrades are isolated and distant from the anarchist context.
It is a blatant attempt to factionalise and confine the anarchism to
certain fenced enclosures, legal and interpretative.
We demolish the attempt to isolate these comrades and we affirm that the
practices and positions they are accused of, constitute a patrimony of
all anarchists and revolutionaries, and we reaffirm our closeness and
our solidarity with the defendants.
We make a call to take part in the gathering on Thursday, November 16th,
at 10 am, in front of the high security court of “le Vallette” Turin
prison, and we relaunch the call for international solidarity with all
anarchist, rebel and revolutionary prisoners; in any place and in
accordance with the modalities that each person considers more
appropriate.

PARIS :Thursday October 12, Struggle in the prisons in Greece at bibliothèque Les Fleurs Arctiques
This Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 7 pm, evening of support and the following discussion:
Evening of support for Tameio (Athens) and discussion about the struggles inside prisons in Greece.
In the presence of comrades of the Solidarity Fund for Imprisoned and Hunted comrades (“Tameio”) of Athens, we will have the opportunity to discuss methods of collective defence in the face of repression, to reverse the ongoing proceedings against revolutionaries, including those built around the new anti-terrorism law of the Syriza government, as well as learn more about the struggles in Greek prisons, which, seen from here, are massive.
It will also be possible to revisit, among others, the enriching experience of the Prisoners in Struggle (DAK) in the struggle against the new high-security prisons (type “C”), and the case referred to as Velvento / Kozani in 2013 against a dozen anarchists. Reading suggestions about the context of the anarchist and anti-prison struggles in Greece are on the library of the blog.
Donations from the evening will go to the solidarity fund.
