Belize Crime Observatory Launched

On October 25th, 2016, The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Home Affairs officially launched the Belize Crime Observatory as part of the InfoSegura Project.The Crime Observatory is an information management system which aims to strengthen analysis of crime and violence data in order to improve public security in the region.The observatory is available online at www.observatory.bz.

 

The InfoSegura Project is a regional project funded by USAID and implemented by UNDP in 7 countries in Central America and the Dominican Republic. The project aims to strengthen evidence based decision making in Central America by improving, data quality and analysis, standardizing data collection as a region, giving emphasis to research, monitoring citizen security policies and programs and empowering civil society to contribute to this process.
