The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkey appointed regionally acclaimed actor Mert Fırat, best known for his starring roles on Başka Dilde Aşk and Atlıkarınca, as its first Goodwill Ambassador in Turkey.
Turkey’s first-ever public building with an integrated building design was inaugurated on 27 October 2017 in a ceremony attended by UNDP Country Director Claudio Tomasi, Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, and Ankara Governor Ercan Topaca.
United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP(United Nations Development Program) Resident Representative in Turkey, Irena Vojáčková-Sollorano visited Kars, Ardahan and Iğdır provinces in scope of the Ardahan-Kars-Artvin Development Project.
‘‘Determination of Legal Aid Needs and Improvement of Legal Aid Services’’ training was held in the city of Gaziantep on September 16, 2017 in the scope of ‘‘Support to the Improvement of Legal Aid Practices for Access to Justice for All in Turkey (SILA)” Project, implemented by the Union of the Turkish Bar Associations as the Implementing Partner, the Ministry of Justice General Directorate of Criminal Affairs as the Cooperating Partner, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and the Union of the Turkish Bar Associations.
“Improving Energy Efficiency in Industry in Turkey Project” was successfully completed. The closing event was held on 11 September 2017 where the project outcomes were disclosed.
Şanlıurfa – 12 October 2017 - Halfeti Youth Camp in Halfeti, Şanlıurfa within the scope of the “Strengthening Social Stability in Southeast Anatolia” project, financed by the Government of Japan and carried out with the technical support of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with GAP Regional Development Administration has completed.
