Drover or Drovers may refer to:
The Drovers are a Chicago-based rock band whose original songs are influenced by Irish traditional dance music.
Founded by Irish traditional fiddler Sean Cleland in 1988, the group recorded four albums and soundtrack music for the motion pictures, Backdraft and Blink. Songwriters Mike Kirkpatrick (guitar) and David Callahan (bass, vocals) drew from Irish rhythms to craft songs that became increasingly psychedelic over a 12-year period until the band ceased performing in September 2002. Kirkpatrick, in particular, created uniquely Irish compositions, often including reels and jigs of his own invention. Callahan's songs, while obviously influenced by Celtic/American folk music, tended toward a less ethnic-sounding psychedelia.
Driven by the powerful fiddle playing of Cleland, his successor, Chris Bain and multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, Kathleen Keane, the group is remembered for its unpredictable, incendiary live performances as the "house band" at Chicago's Cabaret Metro during the early to mid 1990s. They exported this act and won ardent fan bases in Upstate New York and New York City, the rust belt, and Midwestern college towns from Oberlin, Ohio to Omaha, Nebraska. Even though they gained worldwide exposure through the release of Blink, in which they appear onscreen as themselves, the band toured exclusively in North America.
Drovers Inn, also known as the Jesse Bentley House, is a historic inn and tavern located in East Fallowfield Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1820, and is a two- to three-story, six bay, banked stuccoed stone structure with a gable roof. It features a full width verandah with a hipped roof.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
ITV Wales and West, previously known as HTV, refers to the Independent Television franchise area until 31 December 2013, licensed to a broadcaster by the regulator Ofcom.
There is no channel, past or present, named "ITV Wales and West". The licence relates to a 'dual region', meaning that the franchise area was divided into two regions, each of which must be served by distinct and separate ITV programme services as more fully defined within the licence. Today, those services are known as ITV Cymru Wales and ITV West Country (since ITV West and ITV Westcountry merged into a single region). They are provided by ITV plc which owns and operates the two services through its subsidiary ITV Broadcasting Ltd.
From January 2014, the dual-region licence was split in two, with ITV Cymru Wales for Wales and ITV West Country covering the West of England. Both licences remain held by ITV Broadcasting Ltd and the legal names of the former HTV companies have not yet been changed again.
One of my favorite tracks from the soundtrack of the movie Blink - music by The Drovers (World of Monsters).
The Drovers and Pioneers Trail includes a mix of sealed and unsealed roads therefore a Four Wheel Drive vehicle is recommended. Begin your journey in Mount Isa city in Queensland's vast North West Outback then follow the Diamantina Development Road through spectacular outback scenery en route to Boulia, capital of the Channel Country. Turn right onto the unsealed Urandangie North Road and follow the 'unusual' signs to the remote township of Urangangie, once an important centre for travellers and drovers on the Georgina and other stock routes. Take time to explore nearby waterholes on the Georgina, ideal for fishing and bird watching before following the unsealed South Road loop to Boulia with its rich grazing heritage, pioneering stories and the mysterious Min Min Light.

An Australian Christmas Carol - The Three Drovers. Photographs from Flickr. Choir is the Sydney Philharmonia Motet Choir. Song composed in 1948 by John Wheeler and William G. James Text is: Across the plains one Christmas night Three drovers riding blithe and gay, Looked up and saw a starry light More radiant than the Milky Way; And on their hearts such wonder fell, They sang with joy. 'Noel! Noel! Noel! Noel! Noel!' The air was dry with summer heat, And smoke was on the yellow moon; But from the heavens, faint and sweet, Came floating down a wond'rous turn; And as they heard, they sang full well Those drovers three. 'Noel! Noel! Noel! Noel! Noel!' The black swans flew across the sky, The wild dog called across the plain, The starry lustre blazed on high, Still ec...

We created this engaging hotel promotional video for The Drovers Inn. From the moment you pull up outside and then enter the Drovers Inn you just know that you are experiencing something truly unique. You can simply sense three centuries of Scottish hospitality. Within, you can truly feel the history of the people who have passed through; the ghosts are in the walls, generation of tails in the air. The Drovers Inn is an old inn used by the Highland drovers who used to drive their cattle down the side of Loch Lomond to the markets. The décor and furniture, in deference to the past, look as though they have not been changed or altered for a couple of hundred years. As you enter the reception hall you are faced by a full grown, stuffed grizzly bear, an assortment of other animals and the ass...
I made this in honor of several of my most favorite things: Fantasy Art, Strong, Kick Ass Women, Redheads, Celts, Dragons, Fae, Our connection to nature and most importantly 'The Drovers' A Celtic Rock band from Chicago. This is my favorite version of this song. I remember going to listen and dance to them when I was young, beautiful and healthy and I just found out recently they're going to be reuniting on Friday, March 7, 2014 @ Abbey Pub 3420 W. Grace St, Chicago, Illinois 60618. Kathleen, Mike, Dave, Jackie and Chris team up once again for a St. Patrick's celebration. So in honor of all these things and All Hallow's Eve 2013, hope you enjoy!

Some genuine footage of a supernatural ghostly figure. Recorded on the CCTV system in The Drovers Inn, Scotland. If you look closely, you can see a figure moving at the end of the hallway. The CCTV system also recorded strange sounds at the same time the figure appears. The footage was recorded late at night, after the bars were closed. So there were no guests in the area. The staff members that were around never seen anything in the hallway, however they all recall feeling very unnerved that night at around the same time this footage was recorded. www.thedroversinn.co.uk/ghosts.php

"When Fortune Turns Her Wheel" was written by Mike Kirkpatrick. The vocalist is Stone. Recorded by The Drovers for the film "Blink" in March 1993. This is the full version not included in the film. Pick up your glass We'll down a round This night won't always be If hard times fall upon us all I say "It will not last." And we will see you're good friends free And I will tell the tale And all vain pride be left aside When fortune turns her wheel When fortune turns her wheel Some of my fair, pretending friends And friends, they still are Proved false and turned their backs on me When mine was at the wall But with this glass that all will pass And I will wish 'em well. 'cause some strange fate might wait for them When fortune turns her wheel When fortune turns her wheel
Grains of sand slip through your hands
Never ceasing time
Fold your hands in silent prayer
Eternal peace you'll find
Like two rivers flow
to the open sea
Someday we'll reunite
for all eternity
Let the rain falling on your face
Run in to your eyes
Can you see the rainbow now
Through the stormy skies
Like two rivers flow
to the open sea
Someday we'll reunite
for all eternity
Like two rivers flow
to the open sea
Someday we'll reunite
for all eternity
Standing in the rising tide
Heaven's light shines on you
On you, on you
Test the sea rising at your feet
How far can you go
Til you need God's helping hand
To ride the under-tow
Like two rivers flow
to the open sea
Someday we'll reunite
for all eternity
Someday we'll reunite
for all eternity
Someday we'll reunite
