Janet Marchibroda, Executive Director of the CEO Council on Health and Innovation at the Bipartisan Policy Center is joining the PCPCC's National Briefing next Thursday to discuss the report, Building Better Health: Innovative Strategies from America’s Business Leaders - A Report from the CEO Council on Health and Innovation.
The CEO Council on Health and Innovation is a group of nine chief executives of some of the nation’s largest employers. They joined with the Bipartisan Policy Center to share the innovative strategies they have used to improve health and health care and to make commitments and encourage other companies to take similar actions to drive improvements in health and health care.

Today, President Obama authorized the Energy Department to move forward with planning for a separate repository for high-level radioactive waste resulting from atomic energy defense activities.
In remarks today before the Bipartisan Policy Center, Secretary Moniz discussed this path forward and also made clear that the Department will undertake a consent-based approach to siting storage and disposal facilities, as called for in the Administration’s 2013 “Strategy for the Management and Disposal of Used Nuclear Fuel and High-Level Radioactive Waste,” and building upon the work of the bipartisan Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future.

Tammy Patrick is a former federal compliance officer for Maricopa County, Ariz., and served on the Presidential Commission on Election Administration (PCEA), also known as the Bauer-Ginsberg Commission. As a federal compliance officer for the Maricopa County Elections Department for 11 years, Patrick was tasked with serving more than 1.9 million registered voters in the greater Phoenix Valley. As a member of the PCEA Patrick traveled around the county listening to election administrators, advocates and other stakeholders to identify best practices in election administration. In January 2014 the PCEA issued its report to the president with recommendations on how to improve the voting experience.
Patrick now serves at the Bipartisan Policy Center to further the work and recommendations of the PCEA. In this interview, Patrick discusses the PCEA's recommendations and how they relate to legislators.

Bipartisan Policy Center
The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is a non-profit organization that "drives principled solutions through rigorous analysis, reasoned negotiation, and respectful dialogue". It considers itself a think tank characterized by "politically balanced policy making with strong, proactive advocacy and outreach". The Center was founded in 2007 by former Senate Majority Leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole, and George J. Mitchell.
BPC currently has projects focused on economic policy, energy, health care and nutrition, housing, national security, and transportation. Actively promoting bipartisanship, BPC hosts events like "Bridge-Builder Breakfasts", political summits, and policy discussions to foster an ongoing conversation about how to overcome political divides.
Jason Grumet serves as president of BPC. Prior to helping found the organization in 2007, Grumet directed the National Commission on Energy Policy (NCEP). He was also an adviser on energy and the environment for the successful 2008 presidential campaign of then Senator Barack Obama.

Tammy Patrick is a former federal compliance officer for Maricopa County, Ariz., and served on the Presidential Commission on Election Administration (PCEA), also known as the Bauer-Ginsberg Commission.
