This video shows the atmosphere of Bintulu, Sarawak (my hometown) during the 80's. It was recorded by a foreign citizen, Brian A. Berry, in 1986 and uploaded to Youtube 20 years later in 2006 by one of his family members. I kept a copy of this video and re-upload (because the original one is no more available in the web).
I hope there are no restrictions to share something good like this so that the people especially Bintulu folks can learn and be inspired by Brian and his team.
To Brian (commentator), Paul (cameraman) and Mike (editor), thank you to all of you for this great RARE effort!
Even though I was just a year old in 1986, I get this overwhelming urge of sentiment for my childhood after watching it. It is a classy nostalgia!

Bintulu
Bintulu /biːnˈtuːluː/ (Chinese: 民都鲁; pinyin: Mín dū lǔ) is a coastal town in the central region of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located at 610 kilometres northeast of Kuching. Bintulu is also located between Miri and Sibu which is 216 kilometres northeast of Sibu and 200 km southwest of Miri. The town of Bintulu has a population of 114,058 in 2010. It is also the capital of Bintulu District of Bintulu Division, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Bintulu was founded by Rajah James Brooke when he built a fort in the town. The town was first visited by an Italian botanist in 1867. The construction of earliest airstrip in Bintulu began in 1934 but only completed in 1955 due to Japanese occupation. Bintulu remains as a fishing village until 1969 when oil and gas reserves were discovered offshore Bintulu. Since then, Bintulu becomes centre of energy intensive industries such as Malaysia LNG plant, Shell Middle Distillate Synthesis plant, and Bintulu combined cycle power plant. Over time, the town also expands its economy into oil palm and forest plantations, palm oil processing, wood-waste processing, and cement manufacturing. Bintulu port is the largest port in Sarawak. The town is also a gateway to Samalajau Industrial Park.

My First Trip to Bintulu
This is a video about my first trip to the Sarawak , Bintulu . They said it is a boring place but not for me. Full of fun , laughters , foods , friendly people and most importantly basketball ! Thank you for all of my new friends which treats me well while i visited them ! Including Roger , Ah Seng , White white , Alex , Yun Hong , Pao Ge, Vincent , Zizi , Coach Britt , Cai Teck and Nico. Good basketball development and good and friendly coach (mentioning Coach Britt). And some of the places are in construct so i guess the next time when i visit Bintulu again , it will be a brand new and still interesting place.
Recommended places in Bintulu for me :
1) Riverfront Cafe's Fried Rice and it's peanut drink
2) T2H Eternity - Barber Shop with nice and good skilled boss.
3) Chua Kee Seafood's fried big prawn mee
4) Pantai Tanjung Batu Bintulu - It is a beautiful beach which is very near to town and has foods and good drinks too !
5) Spring Garden Cafe (also known as Ah Kiang) - Very Famous in it's Chicken Feet , it is delicious but you must ask the boss for the quantity recommended. It's fried squid is nice too !
6) i-Bar - A good place to chill and karaoke.
