Cuba, officially the Republic of Cuba (Spanish: República de Cuba ), is a country comprising the islands of Cuba, Isla de la Juventud and several archipelagos in the Caribbean Sea. The capital and largest city Havana is 365 km (227 mi) from Miami, Florida. Geographically, Cuba is considered part of North America. Culturally, it is considered part of Latin America.
Prior to Spanish colonization in the late 15th century, Cuba was inhabited by Amerindian tribes. It remained a colony of Spain until the Spanish–American War of 1898, which led to nominal independence as a de facto U.S. protectorate in 1902. As a fragile republic, Cuba attempted to strengthen its democratic system, but mounting political radicalization and social strife culminated in the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista in 1952. Further unrest and instability led to Batista's ousting in January 1959 by the July 26 movement, which afterwards established a government under the leadership of Fidel Castro. Since 1965, the country has been governed by the Communist Party of Cuba.

Genres: Drama,https://www.expedia.com/explore/caribbean/cuba.d44 It’s only 93 miles from Florida, and just 13 from the Bahamas, but like the smoke that coils from its legendary cigars, The Republic of Cuba exists in a time and space all its own. Few cities can stir the imagination like Cuba’s capital, Havana, a city preserved by forts, a five-mile seawall, and an imposed embargo, which held back the excesses of the 20th century for over 50 years. Havana’s lure can be hard to resist, but Cuba offers so much more beyond the seductive lights of its capital. In Cuba, a long sandy beach is never far away. Just 12 miles from Havana’s downtown, the Eastern Beaches unroll toward the town of Matanzas, the birthplace of the rumba, and Cárdenas, where the Cuban Flag flew for the very first time. From here...
There are few more fascinating destinations in the Caribbean than its largest and most populous island, Cuba -- not least because it has been a socialist republic since the 1959 revolution, when Fidel Castro seized power. This last remaining vestige of state socialism, 90 miles south of Key West, Florida, was once the last stronghold of Spanish power in the region. Cuba's rich artistic heritage ranges from pre-Columbian cultures to the splendors of Spanish colonialism and the internationally acclaimed art of today. It is also a place of great natural beauty, with three magnificent mountain ranges and fertile plains where sugar cane and tobacco grow. And it has some of the best beaches in the world. A quarter of Cuba's 11 million people live in and around Havana, which lays claim to being t...

President Obama called on Congress this week to lift the decades-old trade embargo on Cuba. U.S.-Cuban relations have thawed and tourism has increased, but it's still unclear when Americans will be able to travel freely to the nation that was historically off limits. As traveling restrictions are eased, Cuba may also not be ready to accommodate the onslaught of American visitors. Ben Tracy reports.
President Obama's move to help normalize relations with Cuba has already attracted more travel to the country.
Two years ago, President Barack Obama restored diplomatic relations with Cuba. Since then, Cold War-era travel restrictions that prohibited most Americans from visiting were lifted, leading to a surge of U.S. tourists and a scramble to accommodate them. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Amy Guttman looks at the growing hospitality industry in Cuba.

For our first day in Havana we booked a solo walking tour. The tour guide took us from the Hotel Inglaterra and Capitolio Nacional to the area known as Old havana. Here we visited the bars and places frequented by ernest Hemingway. We were told the stories and history of Havana and of Cuba in general as we walked the streets and soaked up the atmosphere. Old Havana was definitely our favourite part of the city and in many ways the holiday as a whole. CLICK MY LINKS! Jonny here, right now I'm in Havana, and in this short film I'm going to explain a little about tourism in Cuba. Most cultural holidays to Cuba will start in Havana, a city of magnificent decaying colonial architecture, monuments and parks, museums and galleries, music and bars and large old American cars. But the first thing you'll probably notice wandering around Havana is the near total lack of consumerism. Cuba is still a communist country with no commercial influence from America, and as such there's almost no evidence at all of the large multinationals we're used to in the West; you won't find any Starbucks or McDonalds here. There are no billboards advertising Coca Cola, there are no glass fronted shopping malls. Which is actually really quite refreshing. The whole city gives you ...
When I boarded my flight and started my adventure to Havana with Cuba Travel Services, I had no idea what to expect. But what I discovered was a place that makes your soul sing, your feet dance, and your eyes wide with wonder. This is Havana, like you've never seen it before. Day 1: An Old Havana Walking Tour The trip starts the Cuban way, with a mojito. Hemmingway's favorite comes from la Bodeguita del Medio. As you wonder through Old Havana's many squares you'll be swept away by their beauty. My favorite, Plaza de Armas. Every day in Plaza de Armas there's a local market but it's much more than just books. You can find old cameras, antiques, and it's a perfect place to soak in local street life. Day 2: On day 2 We're off to Vinales for a feast at El Paraiso, Wilfredo's organic fa...

A quick overview of an amazing health system that prioritizes people over profits.
Videos taken by doctor Darsi Ferrer and smuggled out of Cuba by therealcuba.com's webmaster show the real health care regular Cubans receive. Very different from the flagship hospital for the Elite, paying foreigners and special interest useful idiots where Michael Moore went for his Sicko propaganda movie. This is only the beginning, there is plenty more this came from and a lot of the raw videos are already here in this youtube profile. These are the hospitals from the other side of the apartheid for regular Cubans that Sicko wouldn't show.
Associated Press: Investigators don't know what caused diplomats to suffer severe health problems in Cuba
June 2006 Despite decades of crippling sanctions, Cuba has achieved the unthinkable. Its health care system rivals most Western countries and infant mortality rates are lower than those in America. "There is no place in the world with such a system as we have in Cuba", raves one happy patient. Prevented from importing drugs by sanctions, Cuba was forced to make is own medicines. It now sells this technology to other countries, enabling revenues from the health sector to rival those generated by tourism. But it's the training for free of international medical students that's really marking Cuba's stamp on the region. "In ten years, we will have trained between 100,000 -- 150,000 students", boasts Dr Estevez. America claims gestures like this are a means of Cuba buying UN votes. But Cub...

Finally someone from the media (even under the threat of being expelled from Cuba) has the guts to get some real facts about health care in the communist island without relying on "government figures" or leftist Sicko propaganda. A must see!!
For all the latest news and commentary, visit https://www.ConservativeReview.com ; CR on FB: https://goo.gl/A6Y7ZZ • Apologists for Fidel Castro’s socialist regime often bring up his number one talking point when defending the regime: health care. • But the only way to get good health care in Cuba is to be a tourist with cash or a member of the political elite. • The reality is that Cuba’s health care system has hospitals that are failing, doctors that are paid so little they drive cabs, and little access to equipment or medicine. • It turns out that “free” health care is worth EXACTLY what you pay for it.
Two more Americans have been confirmed to be affected by unexplained health attacks against U.S. diplomats in Cuba, the United States said Tuesday, raising the total number of victims to 21.
Michael Moore brings 9/11 workers who volunteered their time and when the got sick they were not treated for their illnesses. You decide. What do you think?
“Sicko,” Moore takes a number of 9/11 relief workers to Cuba to receive health care. These workers have suffered from a number of severe respiratory and other problems without U.S. government support for their needs. The boats first traveled to Guant?namo Bay—where, despite a systematic pattern of detainee torture that has received worldwide condemnation, the U.S. claims its prisoners receive high-end health care. After being denied services there, the group ends up at Havana’s central hospital

https://www.expedia.com/explore/caribbean/cuba.d44 It’s only 93 miles from Florida, and just 13 from the Bahamas, but like the smoke that coils from its legendary cigars, The Republic of Cuba exists in a time and space all its own. I visited Cuba in July 2016 and after 18 days touring the island I made up a list of information I wish I had before my holiday. This is my collection of advice and suggestions I've made to try and help anyone travelling to Cuba. I looked up help videos before my own trip, and what I learnt while there was really not covered in most of the videos I watched on youtube. I guess I'm trying to bring more tips all together in one video (albeit a slightly long video haha). There is a lot more to know, I'm sure... but this is a decent list that will give you hopefully more direction to research when planning your holiday.

Travel video about destination Cuba. Basking in the Caribbean sun, the island of Cuba lies between sun and socialism, rumba and revolution. Havana is the capital. In 1553, the Spanish conquerors designated Havana’s harbour as a collection point for ships loaded with gold and silver from the new Spanish colonies and named the settlement, San Cristobal De La Habana.La Bodeguita Del Medio was once Hemmingway`s local and nowhere else is the ‘Mojito’ mixed better: three year old white rum, lime juice, soda, sugar, ice and mint. Whether it be the Teatro Marti, the Old Tobacco Factory, the famous Bacardi house, or the Floridita Bar, everywhere there is a feeling of nostalgia. When the Daiquiri is served, one almost expects Fidel Castro to be sitting at the next table. Pinar Del Rio is a small but...

Everything you need to know before traveling to Cuba. An American's guide. All photos and video clips were taken by us!
Cuba is the pearl of the Caribbean Sea. Thanks to the colonial past, Havana - the capital - has plenty of palaces, nice mansions, cathedrals, strong forts, and shady alleys. On the streets the automobiles of the 50’s from United States create a huge contrast with the coaches. Trinidad is full of palaces built by the sugar barons, while Santa Clara is the town of the legendary revolutionary, Che Guevara. Guama shows us an Indian village and a crocodile farm, Varadero offers white, sandy beaches shaded by large palm trees and luxury hotels. In the Tropicana, the band is moving to a heartwarming music. In the famous bars, as the Floridita or the Bodaguita, we can remember Hemingway, and drink from the local rum or the cocktails prepared from it, moreover we can light a good Cuban cigar as wel...

Fidel Castro brought revolution to Cuba in 1959. But the country has been stuck between nostalgia and new beginnings ever since. With its vintage cars and crumbling facades, Havana looks like it’s stuck in a time warp. But young Cubans are optimistic about the future, and material shortages make for inventiveness. To compensate for the lack of a reliable Internet, for example, they invented "El Paquete," an elaborate information network that stretched across the island thanks to portable hard drives. It brings the Bundesliga, telenovelas and US TV shows to even the most remote villages. As the 1962 missile crisis finally fades into history, Cuba is slowly opening up. The owner of Havana’s most chic restaurant, "La Guarida," has reached a deal with some young architects: The profits from...

refrain:
When you got the feeling
You try to get higher
You think you're going insane
You're almost crazy
It really drives you mad
You feel it coming your way
Have a real good time
Do the dance (Oooh!)
Have a real good time
Do the non stop dance
Oh, when you spin 'n' stompin'
There's no way out
You're getting down by the sound
And you fool about, feet around
As you inspire
It really knocks yourself out
Have a real good time
Do the dance (Yeah!)
Have a real good time
Do the non stop dance
Come on, man, y'all
Yeah, you got it now
Have a real good time
Do the non stop dance
Non stop, mmm, dance
Yeah
Non stop (Dance) (3x)
Non stop (Dance!)
