The Who

The Who are an English rock band that formed in 1964. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide and establishing their reputation equally on live shows and studio work.

The Who developed from an earlier group, the Detours, and established themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements, featuring auto-destructive art by destroying guitars and drums on stage. Their first single as the Who, "I Can't Explain", reached the UK top ten, followed by a string of singles including "My Generation", "Substitute" and "Happy Jack". In 1967, they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival and released the US top ten single "I Can See for Miles", while touring extensively. The group's fourth album, 1969's rock opera Tommy, included the single "Pinball Wizard" and was a critical and commercial success. Live appearances at Woodstock and the Isle of Wight Festival, along with the live album Live at Leeds, cemented their reputation as a respected rock act. With their success came increased pressure on lead songwriter and visionary Townshend, and the follow-up to Tommy, Lifehouse, was abandoned. Songs from the project made up 1971's Who's Next, which included the hit "Won't Get Fooled Again". The group released the album Quadrophenia in 1973 as a celebration of their mod roots, and oversaw the film adaptation of Tommy in 1975. They continued to tour to large audiences before semi-retiring from live performances at the end of 1976. The release of Who Are You in 1978 was overshadowed by the death of Moon shortly after.

Top Five

Top Five is a 2014 American comedy film written and directed by Chris Rock. The film, which stars Rock, Rosario Dawson, and Gabrielle Union, was screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie follows New York City comedian and film star Andre Allen (Rock), who has to confront his past and comedic career while doing an interview with journalist Chelsea Brown (Dawson). The film was released on December 12, 2014, by Paramount Pictures.

Plot

New York Times reporter Chelsea Brown is spending a day interviewing comedian and recovering alcoholic Andre Allen, star of the hit film franchise Hammy The Bear, about a cop in a bear suit. He is attempting a foray into serious films with Uprize, in which he portrays Haitian Revolution figure Dutty Boukman, and sensitive to criticism, particularly by Times critic James Nielson, whose previous reviews of Andre's work have been negative and insulting. As the interview begins in his limousine, Andre recalls his lowest point, when he was in Houston in 2003 and met Jazzy Dee, who supplied him with drugs, alcohol and women. Yet after Jazzy refused to pay the women, they contended they were raped, leading to Andre's arrest.

First recorded (then rejected) in New York on March 16, 1971, this became the first song to be worked on with Glyn Johns during a trial session at Stargroves with The Rolling Stones Mobile studio in April, 1971. This version (unlike the New York original) used the synthesizer track from Pete's demo and was edited down for the single which reached #9 in the UK and #15 in the USA. Played onstage at the Young Vic and retained at every Who concert thereafter.

Who is Drawing on Princess Jasmine? w/ Minnie Mouse, Big Foot, Paw Patrol Chase & Spiderman IRL Princess Jasmine fell asleep while hanging out by the pool. Someone sneaks up on her and writes on her tummy and face with a marker. Meanwhile, Minnie Mouse is getting ready to hang out at the pool, and spots someone drawing on Jasmine. She scares the prankster away and wakes Jasmine up. As Disney Jasmine regains consciousness, Minnie takes out a mirror and points out the drawings on her face. Minnie rushes to the pool and grabs a bucket full of water. She throws all of the water onto Jasmine and watches as her friend tries to rub the ink off. As the girls are distracted, the prankster comes back with two pens and sneaks up behind them. Minnie and Jasmine get so scared they try to run away. The pair hide around a corner and ambush the sasquatch as it runs by. They beat it unconscious, but it wakes back up and scares Minnie away before attacking Jasmine. While running away, Minnie spots Chase and returns with help. Meanwhile, Jasmine is being held hostage by Big Foot. Once Minnie and Chase return, they're bombarded by silly string. The Sasquatch is about to draw on Minnie, but Chase intercepts by throwing a net onto him. Chase and Minnie then both rush over to untie Jasmine before beating up Big Foot. Before they can do that, however, the prankster removes his mask and reveals that it was Spiderman the whole time! The friends all laugh it off while they eat some lollipops.
