First came across this track on Last FM been listening to it since!
Most of R&B; singer Governor's career is characterized by promising opportunities gone awry. This son of a Virginia preacher saw a number of his projects -- some with top-name artists like Dr. Dre -- shelved permanently. It was not until he signed to Atlantic recording artist T.I.'s imprint Grand Hustle Entertainment before he received the major-label backing needed to jump-start his career. Governor (full name Governor Washington, Jr.) embarked on his journey to become an R&B; star once he graduated from high school in 1990. He turned down his acceptance to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in order to form an R&B; group named Case Closed and left Virginia for New York. When his group's plans proved fruitless, they disbanded, prompting Governor to pursue the solo route. He earned a deal through the independent Warlock Records for his debut, Another State of Mind, in 2000. After that album's release, Governor continued to find himself around some of the industry's finest, working with hit-making producers Trackmasters, Wyclef Jean, and West Coast legend Dr. Dre. The stint with Trackmasters generated numerous tracks with 50 Cent (before his ascendance to superstardom); however, most of those collaborations went unreleased and Governor parted ways. When Jean got Governor signed to Atlantic Records, Dr. Dre wanted to work with the new artist after hearing his music. The two created about a dozen tracks, but those songs also found their way into obscurity. Jean did involve Governor in some of his projects, but the latter still found himself looking for a new avenue to put out his music. Through a mutual contact, Atlantic A&R; Craig Kallman, Governor was introduced to T.I., and the rapper eagerly signed him. Led by the bluesy, pain-evoking single "Blood, Sweat, and Tears," his Grand Hustle/Atlantic debut, Son of Pain, was released in September 2006. ~ Cyril Cordor, All Music Guide

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and the Democrat-led Legislature are set to return to work to try to resolve the state's first government shutdown since 2006 and the first under Christie.
The Republican governor and the Democrat-led Legislature failed to reach an agreement on a new budget by the deadline at midnight Friday.
Christie ordered nonessential services, including state parks and the motor vehicle commission, to close beginning Saturday. He and lawmakers are in a stalemate over whether to include legislation affecting the state's largest health insurer into the state budget.

Governor
A governor is, in most cases, a public official with the power to govern the executive branch of a non-sovereign or sub-national level of government, ranking under the head of state. In federations, governor may be the title of the politician who governs a constituent state and may be either appointed or elected. The power of the individual governor can vary dramatically between political systems, with some governors having only nominal, largely ceremonial power, while others have complete power over the entire government.
Historically, the title can also apply to executive officials acting as representatives of a chartered company which has been granted exercise of sovereignty in a colonial area, such as the British East India Company or the Dutch East India Company. These companies operate as a major state within a state with its own armed forces.
There can also be non-political governors: high-ranking officials in private or similar governance such as commercial and non-profit management, styled governor(s), who simply govern an institution, such as a corporation or a bank. For example, in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries there are prison governors ("wardens" in the United States), school governors and bank governors.

New Jersey
New Jersey is a state in the Northeastern and Middle Atlantic regions of the United States. It is bordered on the north and east by New York, on the southeast and south by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Pennsylvania, and on the southwest by Delaware. New Jersey is the fourth-smallest state, but the 11th-most populous and the most densely populated of the 50 United States. New Jersey lies entirely within the combined statistical areas of New York City and Philadelphia and is the second-wealthiest U.S. state by median household income as of 2014.
New Jersey was inhabited by Native Americans for more than 2,800 years, with historical tribes such as the Lenape along the coast. In the early 17th century, the Dutch and the Swedes made the first European settlements. The English later seized control of the region, naming it the Province of New Jersey after the largest of the Channel Islands, Jersey, and granting it as a colony to Sir George Carteret and John Berkeley, 1st Baron Berkeley of Stratton. New Jersey was the site of several decisive battles during the American Revolutionary War in the 18th century.

Asa Hutchinson
William Asa Hutchinson (born December 3, 1950) is an American politician who has been the 46th Governor of Arkansas since 2015. Previously he was U.S. Attorney for the Fort Smith-based Western District of Arkansas, U.S. Congressman from the Third District of Arkansas, Administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the first Undersecretary for Border & Transportation Security at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In 2006, Hutchinson was the Republican candidate for governor of Arkansas and lost to Democrat Mike Beebe, the outgoing state attorney general. In 2014 Hutchinson was again the Republican nominee for Governor, this time winning the election over Democrat Mike Ross to become Governor of Arkansas.
Early life and legal career
Hutchinson was born in Bentonville, Arkansas, U.S., the son of Coral Virginia (Mount) Hutchinson (1912–1998) and John Malcolm Hutchinson, Sr. (1907–1991). He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University in South Carolina in 1972, and graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1975. He practiced law in Fort Smith for 21 years and handled more than 100 jury trials. In 1982, Hutchinson was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as U.S. Attorney for the United States Western District of Arkansas. At the age of thirty-one, Hutchinson was the youngest U.S. Attorney in the nation and made national headlines after successfully prosecuting The Covenant, The Sword, and The Arm of the Lord (CSA), a white supremacist organization founded by polygamist James Ellison. The CSA forced a three-day armed stand-off with local, state and federal law enforcement. As U.S. Attorney, Hutchinson put on a flak jacket and personally negotiated a peaceful conclusion to the stand-off.

This son of a Virginia preacher saw a number of his projects -- some with top-name artists like Dr. Dre -- shelved permanently. It was not until he signed to Atlantic recording artist T.I.'s imprint Grand Hustle Entertainment before he received the major-label backing needed to jump-start his career. Governor (full name Governor Washington, Jr.) embarked on his journey to become an R&B; star once he graduated from high school in 1990. He turned down his acceptance to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in order to form an R&B; group named Case Closed and left Virginia for New York. When his group's plans proved fruitless, they disbanded, prompting Governor to pursue the solo route. He earned a deal through the independent Warlock Records for his debut, Another State of Mind, in 2000. After that album's release, Governor continued to find himself around some of the industry's finest, working with hit-making producers Trackmasters, Wyclef Jean, and West Coast legend Dr. Dre. The stint with Trackmasters generated numerous tracks with 50 Cent (before his ascendance to superstardom); however, most of those collaborations went unreleased and Governor parted ways. When Jean got Governor signed to Atlantic Records, Dr. Dre wanted to work with the new artist after hearing his music. The two created about a dozen tracks, but those songs also found their way into obscurity. Jean did involve Governor in some of his projects, but the latter still found himself looking for a new avenue to put out his music. Through a mutual contact, Atlantic A&R; Craig Kallman, Governor was introduced to T.I., and the rapper eagerly signed him. This son of a Virginia preacher saw a number of his projects -- some with top-name artists like Dr. Dre -- shelved permanently. It was not until he signed to Atlantic recording artist T.I.'s imprint Grand Hustle Entertainment before he received the major-label backing needed to jump-start his career. Governor (full name Governor Washington, Jr.) embarked on his journey to become an R&B; star once he graduated from high school in 1990. He turned down his acceptance to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in order to form an R&B; group named Case Closed and left Virginia for New York. When his group's plans proved fruitless, they disbanded, prompting Governor to pursue the solo route. He earned a deal through the independent Warlock Records for his debut, Another State of Mind, in 2000. After that album's release, Governor continued to find himself around some of the industry's finest, working with hit-making producers Trackmasters, Wyclef Jean, and West Coast legend Dr. Dre. The stint with Trackmasters generated numerous tracks with 50 Cent (before his ascendance to superstardom); however, most of those collaborations went unreleased and Governor parted ways. When Jean got Governor signed to Atlantic Records, Dr. Dre wanted to work with the new artist after hearing his music. The two created about a dozen tracks, but those songs also found their way into obscurity. Jean did involve Governor in some of his projects, but the latter still found himself looking for a new avenue to put out his music. Through a mutual contact, Atlantic A&R; Craig Kallman, Governor was introduced to T.I., and the rapper eagerly signed him.
