One to watch, the 23 year-old newcomer (she previously released some tracks under the name Rosie June) delivers an absolute winner with just her second song so far, which Stereogum calls "evocative dream-pop with an infectiously groovy shimmer."
  • NAO - Girlfriend

Posted by 10 blogs • • Also on: SpotifyApple MusicAmazon
First aired last week on BBC Radio 1, the latest from London's Nao is perhaps her most direct to date. Likening love to taking flight, the R&B; ballad in a way mirrors her own ascent (which has included a collab with Disclosure and tour with Little Dragon).
  • Ryley Walker - The Halfwit In Me

A figure on Chicago's experimental/noise scene before a love for Tims Buckley and Hardin led him down a more acoustic path, Ryley's 2015 solo LP established him as a critic/blog favorite. Anticipation is high for the singer-guitarist's August 2016 follow-up.
  • DJ Voilà - Some Jazz

Posted by 1 blog • On Bandcamp • Also on: SpotifyAmazon
Described by Voila himself as "an ode to Montreal summer," this new one from the Quebecois producer introduces a forthcoming album of the same name. Hazey, heady, experimental club music—right at home on the 1080p label.
  • Jay Som - I Think You're Alright

Ahead of a tour with Japanese Breakfast and Mitski, San Francisco songwriter Melina Duterte releases an older song (originally from her bandcamp collection) on 7″ via Fat Possum. "An absolutely gorgeous, crushing love song," says The Revue.

  • PALACE WINTER - SOFT MACHINE

Waiting For The World To Turn, the debut album from Copenhagen-based duo Palace Winter.
    GOOD READ

Longreads traces the broken pop of James Bond songs:

"What can the endurance of the messy, campy canon of James Bond theme songs tell us about contemporary popular music?"

    Thanks for listening!
