The debut double EP from this Dutch producer is a vibed-out collection of tracks that "gracefully saunter between broken beat, dreamy electronica and the jazzier sides of hip hop," per Boiler Room. Out courtesy of Rhythm Section Intl., who continue to be on fire.
  • Austra - Utopia +1 remix

Posted by 12 blogs • On Bandcamp • Also on: SpotifyApple MusicAmazon
One of the most anticipated early 2017 releases belongs to Toronto avant-pop outfit Austra. As displayed by its urgent, anthemic lead single, this third album is said to be their most ambitious to date, calling for a "commitment to replace the approaching dystopia.”
  • Theophilus London - Revenge feat. Ariel Pink

Moving about the Artists Chart this week is a foray into post-punk/new wave by Theophilus London and Ariel Pink. The reverb-heavy collaboration interpolates a song from 1980s synth-pop band New Musik, and arrives via Fool's Gold.
  • The Paperhead - Dama de Lavanda

Posted by 9 blogs • On SoundCloud • Also on: SpotifyApple MusicAmazon
Stereogum sets up the latest from Nashville trio Paperhead: "Their usual liquid psychedelia is tinged with Ennio Morricone-esque twang and mixed with intricate percussion and Latin jazz-leaning trumpet." The LP is due in February on Trouble in Mind.
  • Joyce Wrice - Rocket Science feat. Kay Franklin (prod. by Mndsgn)

Posted by 2 blogs • On SoundCloud • Also on: SpotifyApple MusicAmazon
LA-based R&B; singers Joyce Wrice and Kay Franklin harmonize on this trippy, intergalactic "head-over-heels love jam" (The Fader), produced by the Stones Throw vet. Their EP is out now on Mndsgn's own Akashik Records.

  • Redspencer - Rainbows

Perks, the debut LP from Melbourne's Redspencer.
    GOOD MIX

Here's producer Jay Donaldson aka Palms Trax cooking up a vast and varied, two-hour set of feel-good music for Berlin Community Radio.

    GOOD READ

Vox chronicles the history of NPR's beloved Tiny Desk Concert series:

"This vulnerability of these artists, and the fact they’re playing in an office in the middle of the day instead of in a beer-soaked club, brings us closer to the stark humanity in music."

    Thanks for listening!
