China, officially the People's Republic of China (PRC), is a sovereign state in East Asia. It is the world's most populous country, with a population of over 1.35 billion. The PRC is a one-party state governed by the Communist Party, with its seat of government in the capital city of Beijing. It exercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces; five autonomous regions; four direct-controlled municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Chongqing); two mostly self-governing special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau); and claims sovereignty over Taiwan.
Covering approximately 9.6 million square kilometers, China is the world's second-largest country by land area, and either the third or fourth-largest by total area, depending on the method of measurement. China's landscape is vast and diverse, ranging from forest steppes and the Gobi and Taklamakan deserts in the arid north to subtropical forests in the wetter south. The Himalaya, Karakoram, Pamir and Tian Shan mountain ranges separate China from South and Central Asia. The Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, the third- and sixth-longest in the world, run from the Tibetan Plateau to the densely populated eastern seaboard. China's coastline along the Pacific Ocean is 14,500 kilometres (9,000 mi) long, and is bounded by the Bohai, Yellow, East and South China Seas.
Hong Kong (香港; "Fragrant Harbour"), officially Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, is an autonomous territory on the southern coast of China at the Pearl River Estuary and the South China Sea. Hong Kong is known for its skyline and deep natural harbour. It has a land area of 1104 km2 and shares its northern border with Guangdong Province of Mainland China. With around 7.2 million inhabitants of various nationalities, Hong Kong is one of the world's most densely populated metropolises.
After the First Opium War (1839–42), Hong Kong became a British colony with the perpetual cession of Hong Kong Island, followed by Kowloon Peninsula in 1860 and a 99-year lease of the New Territories from 1898. Hong Kong remained under British control for about a century until the Second World War, when Japan occupied the colony from December 1941 to August 1945. After the Surrender of Japan, the British resumed control. In the 1980s, negotiations between the United Kingdom and the China resulted in the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration, which provided for the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong on 30 June 1997. The territory became a special administrative region of China with a high degree of autonomy on 1 July 1997 under the principle of one country, two systems. Disputes over the perceived misapplication of this principle have contributed to popular protests, including the 2014 Umbrella Revolution.

Wang Shu (Chinese: 王澍, born 4 November 1963) is a Chinese architect based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He is the dean of the School of Architecture of the China Academy of Art. With his practice partner and wife Lu Wenyu, they founded the firm Amateur Architecture Studio. In 2012, Wang became the first Chinese citizen to win the Pritzker Prize, the world's top prize in architecture. There is some controversy since the Pritzker committee did not also award his architectural partner, Lu Wenyu, despite their many years of collaboration.
Wang Shu was born on 4 November 1963 in Ürümqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China's far west. He began to draw and paint as a child, without any formal training in art. Despite the anti-intellectual fervor of the "cultural revolution" (1966–76), his mother gave him access to the library and he read widely, from "Pushkin to Lu Xun." As a compromise between art, his passion, and engineering, his parents' recommendation, Wang chose to study architecture at the Nanjing Institute of Technology (now Southeast University) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province and received a bachelor's degree in 1985 and a master's degree in 1988.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.

*Update: Rob departed Hong Kong on 1st December. See if you can catch him along his route! http://thelifecycle.roblutter.com/roads/ * This is a short film based on the photography and writings of Rob Lutter. His project, The LifeCycle, is a global cycling tour from London to London and has so far taken him 2 years and 15,000km to Hong Kong - his half way point. Struggling with OCD and failing to find creativity at home, Rob left his home in England in 2011 alone by bicycle to find new life and meaning out on the open road. After a recent successful Kickstarter to 'kickrestart' his journey, Rob is preparing to embark on the second leg of his tour to continue forth to the UK which he expects to complete by 2016. The Life Cycle is also raising funds for mental health organisations OCD-UK...
Grandma, her last day. You can visit China. Fly to Beijing to see the Great Wall. To Shanghai to the World Expo 2010. Do it! You will enter a different world. But you will be an outsider, a foreigner, a stranger. I have the opportunity to be in China as an insider. A foreigner, but not a stranger. I cry together with them, laugh together with them and become one with them. How is that possible? Ten years ago, I married to a beautiful girl from a remote village in China. Her family, the village people, the whole community accept me, welcome me. Not for my money, but because I am sincere to them. I love this people and the way they live. I like to be part of them. When my wife was told her Grandmother is dying, she bought two tickets. We arrived just in time. She was alive, but died the nex...
“To get people in here, there is a process, unfortunately. There’s a questionnaire to even get invited, and we will trick people, sometimes, just for fun.” Meet Timothy Hsu, the founder and tea connoisseur behind The Mandarin’s Tea Room, an underground tea-speakeasy lost in the heart of SoHo. The first time I met Timothy, he got me tea drunk. Sip after sip, I could sense my serious mood slowly vanish. I left giddy. My steps, lighter. My mind, brighter. Timothy was pleased. I never heard of being “tea drunk” before. Never knew it was even a possibility for tea to have that effect on you. And that’s the whole purpose of The Mandarin’s Tea Room: to share the true story of tea. Which, of course, isn’t chai tea or jasmine tea. He’s talking about the real tea leaves, predominately from tea tre...

I decided to restart the project MY FRAMES but with a new format. Now the videos will not be monthly, because that kept me with the obligation to make a video every month, and that made me even more time slave. From now on I will upload videos only when I really feel like I have some stories to tell or show. Walk aimlessly in the illusion and unknowingly participate in it, we only take what is given to us, without question. We are not able to see beyond in our temple guarded by soldiers of the ego. Do not be a simple participant in the illusion, return to your innocence and be creator of all illusions. ---------------------------------------- He decidido volver a iniciar el proyecto de MY FRAMES pero con un nuevo formato. Jacqueline & Tat Making tea with effort • 工夫茶 We’re fortunate to have filmed and photographed weddings all over the world. It’s exciting to see how different faiths and cultures celebrate the coming together of two people and their families – from reciting vows, to walking around the sacred fire, exchanging rings to giving tea. We feel proud and privileged to capture these special moments. Jacqueline & Tat, together with their close family and friends from Hong Kong, flew to a beautiful location in Thailand to celebrate their wedding. Destination weddings are enjoyable and creatively rewarding, but at the same time present many challenges even before we press the record button on our cameras – time difference, extreme heat, limited face to face meetings, flights, equipment restric...
The Chinese architect Wang Shu’s buildings – a crossover between traditional Chinese culture and large-scale modern architecture – have earned him the prestigious Pritzker Prize. “Democracy means a really diverse society,” says the architect in this inspiring interview. ”Architecture is not just an object that you place in the environment,” Wang Shu explains.” Your experience of the architecture starts far away from the building. Architecture is not only the house in itself; it also includes a big area around it. All of this is architecture.” Shu does not take his responsibility as an architect lightly. Architecture can ”change the life of people and give them a new one right away. This is not a job for normal people to do. This should be the work of God.” His studio, Amateur Architectur...
Travel video about destination China. China’s Imperial City is located in the centre of its ancient Middle Kingdom, a gigantic and inscrutable empire beyond the Great Wall. The Imperial City is entered through the Gates of Heavenly Peace. After seven years of construction, Ming Emperor Zhu Di moved into his newly-established palace complex in which over eight thousand people lived in almost a thousand rooms. The palace served as both a residential and governmental seat to the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. A stone’s throw away from the old Summer Palace is the Garden of Harmonious Unity that was the favourite garden of the Emperor’s household who retreated to its cool lakeside shores during the humid months of summer. Top Things to do in China! I know that this is long overdue and that I haven't posted a video in a while, but seriously China!! Anyways, this list is less about the top attractions in China and more about the best ones. Moreover, it features the off the beaten path destinations in China as well. So what are the most incredible things to do in China. Here's my take: 10) Changsha and the Mao Zedong Staute (长沙和毛泽东雕像) This is crazy, in the capital of Hunan Province there's a giant statue of Mao Zedong that looks like something out of Mount Rushmore. Definitely a top thing to see in China. 9) Bifengxia Panda Base (碧峰峡大熊猫保护区) The Panda Center in Chengdu is a bit over-touristed. That's why it's a great option to head to Bifengxia on the edge of the village of Ya'an, and up to this amazing ...

Shenzhen in Guangdong Province was once one of China's fastest growing cities and is currently the headquarters of numerous high-tech companies. In this Documentary style short video we will be spending a day exploring the streets of this young city and meeting some of its people.
Toronto is Canada's largest and North America's fourth-largest city. Its multi-cultural population is spread out over the Megacity, but neighborhoods such as China Town, Greektown and Little Italy retain some of their original character. A typical "Hogtown" treat is the Peameal sandwich, available at the Saint Lawrence Market in the Old Town. The city's landmark CN Tower stands in stark contrast to another local icon: The castle-like Casa Loma. Some other famous architectural feats are the Royal Ontario Museum and the Gehry-designed Art Gallery of Ontario. Kensington Markets is an art-loving, 70s-inspired neighborhood full of shops. Upscale fashion stores surround Dundas Square, the downtown end of Yonge Street. During colder months, the city's huge underground mall, the PATH, offers hou...
In part two of my video travel guide to India I travel to Bodhgaya, one of the most sacred places in all of the Buddhist religion. It was at this location 2,500 years ago that a young Prince Siddhartha sat under a fig tree, meditated and found enlightenment, thus becoming the Buddha. I start off by visiting the many temples that have been built by various Buddhists from around the world, including temples dedicated to Buddhists living in China, Japan, Tibet and Nepal. I then visit the Tergar Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist complexes in the region, which is a short walk from the main road. I then head to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple complex in the center of town. At sunset it is a scenic, peaceful time to explore the grounds, which include a large monument built at the Bodhi Tree it...
Located on China's south coast, Hong Kong offers some of the world's most intense shopping, sightseeing and dining experiences, yet moments of stillness await at every turn. Hong Kong has over 600 places of worship, from neighborhood temples to hilltop monasteries. Shopping is almost a religion too! From opulent malls like Pacific Place to the markets of Temple Street, tax-free Hong Kong is heaven for bargain hunters. From Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, hop aboard a Star Ferry for the crossing to Hong Kong Island. Explore the futuristic architecture of Hong Kong's main business district, Central, then take a tram to Victoria Peak. Hong Kong offers plenty of green spaces, such as Kowloon's Walled City Park.
Little Adventures of Little Samir Episode 1: "Take Your Child to Work Day" or "A little bull in a China Shop" Little Adventures of Little Samir is an animated mini-series that I'll be working on during my free time. I intend to make it as simple and minimal as possible. Think of it as an animated newspaper comic strip.

Alibaba Group Holding commands a vast share of China's rapidly expanding online retail market. The company presents a serious challenge to foreign companies trying to find a foothold in China's consumer market. The company remains something of a mystery. In an interview with The Nikkei, Jack Ma Yun, founder and chairman of the e-commerce leader, talked frankly about the company's relationship with the Chinese government and finding someone to succeed him. Q: Alibaba started out with a staff of 18 in 1999. Your company has become a giant in the Internet retailing business, hasn't it? A: Alibaba has become a big company compared with 15 years ago, but we are still a small company compared with where we will be 15 years from now. We have studied two organizations that endure for a long time....

Let's Play a game of Pharaoh. This is one of my all time favourite city builders - Part of a four game series (Including Rome, Greece and China), this game is all about building a civilization to stand the test of time (No not that game). You take the role of Pharaoh and must guide your people from simple riverside villages to grand palacial cities of ancient Egypt. If you enjoy the video please consider pushing that Like button. [Shabazz The Disciple]
Impressive times everybody lives the fast life
Running around selling drugs living trife
In order to survive we have to strive
for perfection and have a direction to guide
The young ones out of the darkness of reality
It's rap standing for this mic brutality
Cuz if we don't got them where will they end up
In a situation where they get sent up
For selling drugs or possession of weapons
Forcing and sending thier own mankind back to the essence
Bust shots at the cops for props
Low down shots, run the spots
So, I'm damn near every block
Making it hard to live at your residence
Brothers who kill brothers for past experience
Let me break it down to my point of view
Designed for a white man who didn't die for you
I know money is the roots of all evil
and worst is the devil, it controls people
It has your mind in a state, so negative
That to get more, you'll even murder your relatives
The drug game took a lot of my brothers
and others, but all I could do was think about their mothers
They can't bear that thought that their son was shot dead
in the ghetto, on the ground with holes in his head
All those years of chastizing, advising
He really wasn't realizing and open his eyes
and looking at life as a meaningfull experience
and take the dreams a lot more serious
Stop pleading for the opposite race
taking life for a waste and chase in space
The latter of success is what we have to climb
with the strong mind and yo, take your time
[Chorus: "sample", Shabazz The Disciple]
"Take your time, young man"
Take your time, all you gotta do is just take your time
"Don't you rush to get old"
"Take your time, young man"
Eh, yo, take your time
"Don't you rush to get old"
[Shabazz The Disciple]
Sometiems, I just sit back and wonder
What can I do to keep myself from going under
In the ghetto, yo, it's hard to stay alive
So I keep a strong mind and strive to survive
Seems hard at times, but I guess I slipped
Cuz I'm here and my mind is equipped
I walk past the brothers that be dealing
and a negative eye appears glady appealing
They drive fancy cars tinted up with a kit
How many brothers did they kill to get it
They rule the streets on a temporary basis
And everyday they live life at fast paces
And in the end they go out and fight caucasians
Peep smiles on the white mans faces
You sell drugs, brother, I don't have to
I'd rather make fly beats I could rap to
Red Hook is infested with capsules
But that's one lifestyle I can't adapt to
Because the living is lame, who's to blame
It's damn shame, but after you're illusion to maintain
And entertain, so use your brain
Stop walking all around as if your brain has been drained
Stop rushing to get to the top
Cuz you might get shot or knocked by the cops
Then you'll be sitting in the cell everyday
Reminiscing about your life and how you could've got away
The only way that you could've escaped
is if you wouldn't have got yourself involved in the first place
But it's too damn late to think backwards
Think about the sentance you're about to get slapped with
So, young brothers, here's a reason to think
About how the positive rise and the negative stink
They'll become memories of the past
The main reason's cuz they're living their lives too fast
The latter of success is what we have to climb
so, orcastrate line and yo, take your time
[Chorus: "sample", Shabazz The Disciple]
"Take your time, young man"
Take your time, all you gotta do is just take your time
"Don't you rush to get old"
"Take your time, young man"
Just take your time
"Don't you rush to get old"
[Shabazz The Disciple]
As the world revolves, our people dissolve
Create more problems not getting solved
We struggle just to survive
We struggle to stay alive
Innocent are dead, our freedom is deprived
Kinifes in fear, yo, we all under stand this
Freedom, not death, yo, all must ammend this
Your minds were diluted, heavily polluted
As far as I'm concerned, we've all been excluded
Took of our knowledge, but I'm here to speak it
Your must love it, before you must seek it
Destroy devilish snakes and never be a rebel
Instead of all of us falling victim to the devil
Don't let them hold you, don't let them control you
Don't let no one in the negative state of mind own you
Don't fall for the tricks of the 666
Cuz they first specialized in the crucifix
Now is the time to strive and be wise
Where we reach the horizon and we all disguising
It's up to us to keep the strong mind
So that the light can shine on all mankind
Take surprise and in your grands, young man
but hwatever you have to do, take your time
listen up boy and take your time
[Chorus: "sample", Shabazz The Disciple]
"Take your time, young man"
"Don't you rush to get old"
"Take your time, young man"
Eh, yo, take your time
"Don't you rush to get old"
"Take your time, young man"
