    After spending tens of thousands, I just stopped going to the doctor. I can’t afford to properly manage my condition. And it certainly doesn’t help when people with chronic illness often have their ability to work severely impacted leaving them less financially able.

    The attention is on the out of pocket expenses for cancer, but the biggest group impacted by this are people with chronic illness. This needs significant reform and more patient voices please.

    Great look at what online communities can mean for disabled people, particularly people, like me, who are stuck at home most of the time. Social media can be hugely important for connection, activism and even work.

    I’ve long had this niggle that calls for a social media detox smack of privilege. For many, online communities are a lifeline.
