Thank you for visiting The Bookshelf's online store and magazine where the convenience of the internet meets the services of a great neighbourhood bookstore.
Shopping Cart: To add an item to your shopping cart, click the green "add to cart" button that appears on the product page for all items available in the store. You can return to browsing by either clicking the 'x' in the cart window or clicking anywhere else on your browser screen. The shopping cart can be accessed at any time for editing items or showing the order summary by clicking the red tab on the right hand side of your browser.
Checkout: When you are ready to check out, access the shopping cart and click the big red "checkout" button at the bottom of the cart.
Customer Accounts: You will be presented with the following checkout options to enter/access shipping address, email address, and phone number:
- Log in to an existing account (save time now)
- Create a new account (save time in the future)
- Check out without using an account
Shipping Options:
The default shipping address can be edited or selected from those associated with your account at this point.
You will then be presented with our shipping options which include:
- Bookshelf Store Pickup (same day if in stock)
- Guelph Free Local Delivery (same day Mon-Friday if ordered by 2:00pm and in stock)
- Standard Shipping
Payment Options:
You will then be presented with our payment options secured by Shopify Inc (prices in Canadian funds) which include:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
You will then be presented with an option to provide a billing address defferent from your shipping address.
Press the 'complete order' button and the process is complete!
Technical note: javascript and cookies must be enabled in your browser (by default in most modern browsers: Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc) to order online.
Our Terms
Privacy/Security/Marketing: Our privacy, security, and marketing undertakings can be viewed here.
Guarantee: All products are guaranteed against manufacturer defect.
Returns/Exchanges: Products may be returned for refund or exchange within 15 days of your receipt.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Please notify us in advance at web_orders@bookshelf.ca if you would like to return or exchange a product.
To return your product, you should send your product to: The Bookshelf, 41 Quebec Street Guelph Ontario CA N1H2T1.
Refunds (if applicable): Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Sale items (if applicable): Only regular priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable): We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at web_orders@bookshelf.ca and send your item to: The Bookshelf, 41 Quebec Street Guelph Ontario CA N1H2T1.
Gift Returns/Exchanges (if applicable): If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you. If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver who will be informed of your return.
