Prelude FLNG is the world's first floating liquefied natural gas platform as well as the largest offshore facility ever constructed. The Prelude is being built by the Technip / Samsung Consortium (TSC) in South Korea for a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell, KOGAS, and Inpex. It is 488 metres (1,601 ft) long, 74 metres (243 ft) wide, and made with more than 260,000 tonnes of steel. At full load, it will displace more than 600,000 tonnes, more than five times the displacement of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
The hull was launched in December 2013.
The main double-hulled structure was built by the Technip Samsung Consortium in the Samsung Heavy Industries Geoje shipyard in South Korea. Construction was officially started when the first metal was cut for the substructure in October 2012. The Turret Mooring System has been subcontracted to SBM and has been built in Drydocks World Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Other equipment such as subsea wellheads are being constructed in other places around the world. It was launched on 30 November 2013 with no superstructure (accommodation and process plant).
Floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) refers to water-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations employing technologies designed to enable the development of offshore natural gas resources. While no FLNG facilities currently exist, a facility is in development by the Malaysian national oil company PETRONAS, and is due to be completed by the end of 2015. Floating above an offshore natural gas field, the FLNG facility will theoretically produce, liquefy, store and transfer LNG (and potentially LPG and condensate) at sea before carriers ship it directly to markets.
Studies into offshore LNG production have been conducted since the early 1970s, but it was only in the mid-1990s that significant research backed by experimental development began.
In 1997, Mobil developed a FLNG production concept based on a large, square structure (540 by 540 feet (160 m × 160 m)) with a moonpool in the center, commonly known as "The Doughnut". The Mobil proposal was sized to produce 6,000,000 tonnes (6,600,000 tons) LNG per year produced from 7,400,000 cubic metres (260,000,000 cu ft) per year of feed gas, with storage provided on the structure for 250,000 cubic metres (66,000,000 US gal) of LNG and 103,000 cubic metres (27,000,000 US gal) of condensate.

World is a common name for the whole of human civilization, specifically human experience, history, or the human condition in general, worldwide, i.e. anywhere on Earth or pertaining to anywhere on Earth.
In a philosophical context it may refer to:
In a theological context, world usually refers to the material or the profane sphere, as opposed to the celestial, spiritual, transcendent or sacred. The "end of the world" refers to scenarios of the final end of human history, often in religious contexts.
World history is commonly understood as spanning the major geopolitical developments of about five millennia, from the first civilizations to the present.
World population is the sum of all human populations at any time; similarly, world economy is the sum of the economies of all societies (all countries), especially in the context of globalization. Terms like world championship, gross world product, world flags etc. also imply the sum or combination of all current-day sovereign states.
The Prelude FLNG project has reached a milestone, leaving the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea and starting its 5,800km journey across the ocean to Australia. After the hook-up and commissioning is complete, Prelude will extract and liquefy natural gas at sea, delivering more and cleaner energy for the world. Royal Dutch Shell has announced its intention to use a floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) platform to exploit the Browse gas field off the north coast of Western Australia. This animation introduces the FLNG platform. The floating platform measures 105 meters tall, 75 meters wide, 488 meters long, and weighs 600,000 tonnes when fully loaded. The first FLNG vessel will begin harvesting gas from the Prelude gas field, situated 200 kilometers off the Kimberley Coast, in 2017 and will stay there for up to 25 years. The facility is also designed to withstand storms, and cyclone-force waves. According to Reuters, "it expects to produce around 3.6 million tonnes of gas a year with a capacity for a further 4.7 million. It expects to make its first delivery to customers within 6 years." A shipyard in South Korea is building the biggest vessel the world has ever seen - a gas processing platform for the energy giant Shell. Longer than four football pitches laid end-to-end, it stretches for nearly half a kilometre (1600 ft). Known as Prelude, the vessel will eventually be moored above a gas field in remote waters off Australia and is designed to provide a new way to get gas to the global market.
That, which is argued for centuries,
There, where answer is found,
All is the world, where a human doomed to death
Can’t find himself
The whole universe being
Is the universe dust kept in centuries.
We don’t notice how
We doom everything to ashes.
Fool’s tread has no borders
He erases them
He calls himself falsely
And boasts of the rightless right
What will we leave on the Earth?
- Trace of burning darkness,
Bones, keeping the secret,
Moment, when we’ve doomed ourselves
And where no arguing will be
Where no answer will be found
There is a world, we didn’t save
