The Clements Center for National Security welcomed Dr. Michael Ledeen on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 to give a talk on fascism and its historical context.
Dr. Ledeen is a Freedom Scholar at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and is an internationally renowned scholar on Iran, Iraq, terrorism, and international security. He has served as a consultant to the National Security Council, the State Department, and the Defense Department, and as a Special Advisor to the Secretary of State. Dr. Ledeen holds a PhD in modern European history and philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, and has taught at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Rome.

Michael Ledeen: How We Can Win the Global War Against Radical Islam and Its Allies
Ten years ago, we found evidence that al-Qaeda was far more organized and adept than we had realized. It took us nearly that long to locate and execute their leader, Osama bin Laden, and we are far from finished. Al-Qaeda has morphed into a much more dangerous, menacing threat: ISIS. Defeating these radical Islamists will require decisive action.
