A couple hours spent filming at Haulover Inlet on a late December Sunday afternoon. The inlet was choppy and the weather was great, a perfect combination for a novice captain to be lured into the inlet and over their skill set and boat’s capability. But alas, the small boat captains were cautious and the adventurous captains knew how to handle a boat in the chop of the inlet.

I made the drive up to Jupiter Inlet to check it out and see what boat action was up there. One thing that I did notice that was very different about Jupiter Inlet compared to Haulover, all the small children were wearing life vests.

A disabled jet ski was towed through the Boynton Beach inlet by his buddy on another jet ski. His buddy was dragging him through the channel with just a hand grip on the disabled jet ski. Then a savy, quick thinking Good Samaritan boater navigated through the rushing, incoming tide to toss the disabled jet ski a tow rope.
Then, an abrasive, offensive boater nearly runs over the disabled jet ski and then curses and swears at the disabled jet ski instead of lending him assistance.
Congratulations and praise to the honorable boater that lent assistance in hazardous currents under challenging conditions.
As for the yellow hulled boater with the condescending, nasty disposition, DON'T be that guy!

Inlet
An inlet is an indentation of a shoreline, usually long and narrow, such as a small bay or arm, that often leads to an enclosed body of salt water, such as a sound, bay, lagoon, or marsh. In sea coasts, an inlet usually refers to the actual connection between a bay and the ocean and is often called an "entrance" or a recession in the shore of a sea, lake, or river. A certain kind of inlet created by glaciation is a fjord, typically but not always in mountainous coastlines and also in montane lakes.
Complexes of large inlets or fjords may be called sounds, e.g., Puget Sound, Howe Sound, Karmsund (sund is Scandinavian for "sound"). Some fjord-type inlets are called canals, e.g., Portland Canal, Lynn Canal, Hood Canal, and some are channels, e.g., Dean Channel and Douglas Channel.

Jupiter, Florida
Jupiter is a town located in Palm Beach County, Florida. According to the 2014 Census Bureau estimate, the town had a total population of 60,681. It is one of the northernmost suburbs of the Miami metropolitan area. It was rated as the 9th Happiest Seaside Town in America by Coastal Living in 2012.
History
The area where the town now sits was originally named for the Hobe Indian tribe which lived at the mouth of the Loxahatchee River, and whose name is also preserved in the name of nearby Hobe Sound. A mapmaker misunderstood the Spanish spelling "Jobe" of the Indian name "Hobe" and recorded it as "Jove". Subsequent mapmakers further misunderstood this to be the Latin translation of the god Jupiter, and they anglicized the name from Jove to "Jupiter". The Roman god Jupiter (or Zeus in the Greek mythology) is the chief Roman god, and god of light, of the sky and weather, and of the state and its welfare and its laws. Jupiter's consort was Juno, inspiring a neighboring town to name itself "Juno Beach".

Oregon Inlet
Oregon Inlet is an inlet along North Carolina's Outer Banks. It joins the Pamlico Sound with the Atlantic Ocean and separates Bodie Island from Pea Island, which are connected by the 2.5 mile Herbert C. Bonner Bridge that spans the inlet. As one of the few access points to the ocean along this stretch of coast, Oregon Inlet is a major departure point for charter fishing trips, with a nearby harbor serving as the base for many large boats that travel miles out towards the Gulf Stream almost every day. The inlet is also the location of a U.S. Coast Guard station.
History
Oregon Inlet was formed when a hurricane lashed the Outer Banks in 1846, separating Bodie Island from Pea Island. One ship that rode out that storm in Pamlico Sound was named the Oregon. After the storm the crew members of this ship were the first to tell those on the mainland about the inlet's formation. Hence, it has been known as Oregon Inlet ever since.
Akin to many other inlets along the Outer Banks, Oregon Inlet moves southward due to drifting sands during tides and storms. It has moved south over two miles since 1846, averaging around 66 feet per year.

Tradegy AVERTED - Near miss in Boynton Beach Inlet - Disabled Jet Ski almost run over
A disabled jet ski was towed through the Boynton Beach inlet by his buddy on another jet ski. His buddy was dragging him through the channel with just a hand grip on the disabled jet ski. Then a savy, quick thinking Good Samaritan boater navigated through the rushing, incoming tide to toss the disabled jet ski a tow rope. Then, an abrasive, offensive boater nearly runs over the disabled jet ski and then curses and swears at the disabled jet ski instead of lending him assistance. Congratulations and praise to the honorable boater that lent assistance in hazardous currents under challenging conditions. As for the yellow hulled boater with the condescending, nasty disposition, DON'T be that guy!

A disabled jet ski was towed through the Boynton Beach inlet by his buddy on another jet ski. His buddy was dragging him through the channel with just a hand grip on the disabled jet ski. Then a savy, quick thinking Good Samaritan boater navigated through the rushing, incoming tide to toss the disabled jet ski a tow rope.
Then, an abrasive, offensive boater nearly runs over the disabled jet ski and then curses and swears at the disabled jet ski instead of lending him assistance.
Congratulations and praise to the honorable boater that lent assistance in hazardous currents under challenging conditions.
As for the yellow hulled boater with the condescending, nasty disposition, DON'T be that guy!
