AGRESSION: [1983] Don't Be Mistaken

Oxnard, SC, skatepunks from 1983 with "Intense Energy" (the well-named killer here that originally appeared on the super period compilation Someone's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In), teen natural amphetamines, and a few real hot tunes. Pummeling edge and clear singing are a real plus. Not exactly T.S. Eliot in the lyrics department, but like Jody Foster's Army, Agression completely anticipated the mixing of cultures (punks and skateboard enthusiasts) forever documented in Thrasher mag. AUTOMATIC 7: [1995] Automatic 7

New Jersey punkers Automatic 7 had the vocalic growl similar to SoCal punk revivalists, yet honed their own brash rock sound. Formed during the mid-'90s in New Brunswick, vocalist John Hulett, bassist Nic Nifoussi, and guitarist Phil Jaurigui, molded jaunty punk-pop inside the hardcore face spewing off about the downward spirals of drugs and deception. A self-titled debut was issued in 1996; the follow up, 2001's Beggar's Life, marked the band's first for Vagrant Records.

BIG BOY TOMATO: Hormones and Hangovers [CD-single]

Big Boy Tomato enjoyed a fair amount of success in North and West London, and their 'New Wave of New Wave' sound saw them supporting bands like UK Subs and Stiff Little Fingers.
The Tomatoes managed a couple of e.ps, including 'Acton Baby' and the four track CD 'Hormones and Hangovers.'
The Tomatoes split in the early 90s, and a splinter group emerged. Sugar Snatch (as they came to be known - there were disputes over their original name, Candy Snatch) took inspiration for their songs from cartoons, namely Asterix and Animaniacs. One album, "Mad Cows and Englishmen" was released amidst much touring of the UK and Europe, often playing the supporting slot to Toy Dolls.

DEMENTED ARE GO: [1999] Hellucifernation

Demented Are Go are a Welsh psychobilly band that was formed around 1982 in Cardiff. They were one of the earliest in the initial wave of bands to mix punk rock with rockabilly, and as a result, are considered to be highly influential to the psychobilly scene.
The band often claims their name originated from the phrase "Demon teds are go!," an adaptation of the phrase "Thunderbirds are go!" from the Thunderbirds TV series, as rockabillies are known as teds and psychobilly is often associated with horror.

EBBA GRÖN: [1978] Antirock [single]

Ebba Grön was a Swedish punk band formed in 1977. The original members were Joakim Thåström (Pimme), Gunnar Ljungstedt (Gurra) and Lennart Eriksson (Fjodor). After the release of their second album in 1981, they were joined by a fourth member, Anders Sjöholm (Stry Terrarie).
One of the most famous songs they recorded is a cover version of "Den ena handen vet vad den andra gör" by the Swedish progg band, Blå Tåget. Renamed "Staten och Kapitalet," the song expresses an anti-capitalist sentiment about how the government, Staten, and the private corporations, Kapitalet, cooperate to control and enslave the working classes.
