Ebenso findet man Remixes wie zum Beispiel von "The Clash" ("Should I Stay Or Should I Go") oder auch von Weihnachtsliedern ("Auld Lang Syne", "The Little Drummer Boy")...by Bezahl
Ein echtes Schnäppchen!

ACTION PACT: The Punk Singles Collection (192kbps)

!Action Pact! were a punk rock band, formed in 1981 by guitarist Wild Planet, bassist Dr. Phibes, and drummer Joe Fungus. Joe Fungus also played with the Punk band called, Savage Upsurge. The John from Dead Mans Shadow, was the original singer of the band, when they were known as The Bad Samaritians. He left the band to concentrate on D.M.S. He was replaced by a girl named, George Cheex, who got the job because of "her courage to scream along with the band's songs!" Both George and Joe were 15 years old and still attending school, at the time the "Heathrow Touchdown" EP came out in October, 1981. The 2 tracks, London Bouncers and All Purpose Action Footwear, got the attention of Radio 1 DJ John Peel. He played the single many times on the airway and wanted the band to do their first session, which broadcasted on February 22nd, 1982. They recorded "People," "Suicide Bag", "Mindless Aggression", "Losers", and "Cowslick Blues".
The response was sufficient enough to make it on Fall Out Records, which made it their first signings and their debut release "Suicide Bag"EP which was labeled on July 1982, which rocketed to the top of the Punk charts. COLLABOS: A La Memorie De (192kbps)

COLLABOS....

CAPITOL PUNISHMENT: Bulwarks Against Oppression + Glutton for Punishment 7''

The first band Jocey and I played in together was a new wave band called ALTERED FEATURES. That was in 1980 and it lasted just a few months. We really wanted to play punk not wave. We looked for a new project and hooked up with EricTsuda. He wanted to try his hand at singing and he knew a drummer, 16 year old Keith Johnson.
Eric thought up the name of the band and we practiced in his living room. A few months later we played our first gig, July 4, 1981 with the DEAD KENNEDYS, THE FIX and
7 SECONDS at the Belmont Ballroom in Fresno.
That original line-up was short-lived and by '82 Eric was replaced with Ralph Lotspeich on vocals and a few months later Mike Branum took over drumming duties from Keith. Eric went on to play drums for DEATH OF GLORY and The UNFIT from San Luis Obispo. Keith moved up to San Francisco.
From 1982 to 1987 we kept that same lineup, which is a long time in punk band years. And what an incredible time those years were! We had a lot of fun from time to time and achieved goals every band strives for.
In the years to come we would record and release 5 studio LPs,
3 7-inchers, a couple videos, lotsa demos and compilation tracks for several different labels. We were on a few labels here in the U.S. Mainly We Bite America in Chicago and Unclean Records in Austin, Texas. In Germany were were on Destiny Records, Berlin and We Bite Records in Tubingen.
We had the pleasure of touring the U.S. 3 times; in '85, '86 and '89 and Europe twice; in '87 and '91. We played all over California including many times in San Francisco and the bay area. We got to play with some of the really cool punk/hardcore bands of the day: THE DEAD KENNEDYS, BLACK FLAG, MINOR THREAT, BAD BRAINS, DISCHARGE, etc. In our earlier tours we played mostly in the midwest; Chicago, Memphis, Houston, Omaha, Milwaukee, etc. Our '89 US tour took us to the east coast for the first time and we were so thrilled to play at the legendary CBGB in New York.

CAPITOL PUNISHMENT: Three Chord Pile Up

After signing to We Bite Records in Germany in '86, they set up a European tour for us in '87 and again in '91. We Bite did such a wonderful job booking those tours. Thomas and Margit Issler also took great care putting out a top quality product. Playing for appreciative audiences, singing along with our songs in Germany, Belgium, Denmark and Austria was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We played a few 500+ halls, but It was mostly small halls and Jugenzentrums. It was very meaningful and outrageously fun!
But, all things must come to an end and the so-called "first line-up",
which was actually the second line-up broke up at the end of that first European tour in '87. The band was coming apart at the seams anyway. The enormous stress of that tour was the proverbial straw. We five worked together as a team for 6 years. I say five because Jimi Haze our roadie/driver/confidant was very much a part of the band. We couldn't have done it without him. Jimi is now vocalist for STRYCHNINE, a band from Oakland CA.They've been one of thee most European touring bands and have tons of great tour stories.
In '87 the demise seemed eminent with many band member squabbles. So, we kinda saw it coming. When it finally happened it was quite painful, like a divorce, if you have any idea what that's like.

CAPITOL PUNISHMENT: When Putsche Comes to Shove

Mike went up to the bay area to play drums for FANG. Later he played in HELLS KITCHEN with Jimi Haze on vocals. After that Mike drummed for Smelly in PLAINFIELD.
Joceylin and I continued on under the name CAPITOL PUNISHMENT from '88 to '95. We had several different singers and drummers over the years
(line-up changes and tours). In '93-'94 we played a few reunion shows with Mike and Ralph. It was fun and they went over quite well. In '95 we finally laid ole CP to rest. Joceylin and I are still happily together. And after a 7-year hiatus she has come back to playing bass guitar. We're currently (nov '06) playing in a band called the Dustups ... Dale Stewart

NEWTOWN NEUROTICS: 45 Revolutions Per Minute (Re-up)

There are a lot of people who were into the band but had trouble getting hold of the records, with the help of this site we hope to be able to point a lot of you in the right direction and answer any questions you may have about the band or their songs.
Formed in 1979 by Steve Drewett, they began like so many others to attempt to get their clumsy fingers around three chords and ape the Ramones who were their heroes.
Sporting Joey Ramone length hair Steve would sneer at cries of "Bloody Hippie" from the audience but after a couple of numbers nobody cared they just went into pogo frenzy. The early stuff from the band like "Hypocrite" and "When The Oil Runs out" singles were both great melodic punk songs on the type found in the early eighties but both were written prior to the election of the Thatcher monster. The horror of this event changed what was the non-political writing style of Steve's lyrics into the other extreme, and so in June 1982 "Kick Out The Tories" was released on CNT records. This was a double "A" side shared with Mindless Violence as it was quite obvious that the political nature of "Tories" would prevent it some what from being Radio One's Tony Blackburn's single of the week!

RATTUS: Here Comes Death

RATTUS was formed in the spring of 1978 by Jake and Vellu who started to play mostly English punk bands´ songs just for fun (Sex Pistols, Damned, Clash, etc.). A few weeks later they asked Jake´s brother Tomppa to join the band and so he did. The name RATTUS was taken from the first Lp of THE STRANGLERS, "Rattus Norvegicus". RATTUS is latin meaning a rat, a very big rat. In the early days RATTUS did shows only in their hometown and near of it.

DIE TOTEN HOSEN: Friss Oder Stirb (Single)

The members of Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers" in English although most closely translated to "The Dead Beats;" "tote Hose" is a German expression meaning "impotent", "lifeless", "boring", or "nothing going on") are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen 'Vom' Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). Although most of the members are German, drummer Vom is actually from England and replaced Wölli as the drummer in 1999; Wölli's untimely departure from the band was due to injuries caused by a car accident. Wölli himself had replaced Trini in 1985, and is still an honorary member of the band; Trini became the band's manager when Wölli joined. The band has existed for over 20 years, and their songs' focus gradually shifted from funny and nonsensical to serious; the songs from their first LP were mostly about having fun, but by the end of the 1980s they were focusing more on political and social issues such as racism.
Part of the folklore surrounding the band is the story that in their early days they played for free at private birthday parties or similar events. However, this was only under the condition that the host provided an unlimited beer supply and paid for all damages caused by the band. The debut single "Wir sind bereit" ("We are ready") was released in 1982, and was followed by their first album, "Opel-Gang", the next year. In 1988, Die Toten Hosen released the LP "Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau", which featured the song "Hier Kommt Alex" (referring to the movie A Clockwork Orange based on the book by Anthony Burgess); in 1993, Frank Castorf produced a German theater version of the book, in which the band performed as actors and musicians. "Hier Kommt Alex" (here comes Alex) was later redone for the Unplugged show in 2005 with the opening piano of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Their 1000th concert was on 28 June 1997, in the Düsseldorfer Rheinstadium, and was attended by more than 60,000 fans. A Dutch girl, Rieke Lax, died in the crowd; after various talks with security and police, the band decided to play soft songs until the end, in order not to panic the crowd. Later the band produced the song "Alles ist Eins" in memoriam for the Dutch girl. Their first tour after this event was as part of the 1998 Warped Tour to New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Hawaii, and included hospital visits for Campino after two of the nine Australian dates (Byron Bay and Geelong). Die Toten Hosen have collaborated with numerous other musicians (like Bad Religion, AC/DC, U2, Rolling Stones); they are also one of the few German punk bands popular outside of Germany (esp. in South America, Australia, Eastern Europe) other notable bands being Die Ärzte and WIZO. As longtime fans of their local soccer team Fortuna Düsseldorf they sponsored the club from 2001 to 2003.
In August, 2006, Campino (Andreas Frege) starred as Mack the Knife in a new version of "The Threepenny Opera" staged at Berlin's Admiralspalast, a short distance down Friedrichstrasse from where the play received its premier in 1928. Staged by actor Klaus Maria Brandauer, the much-awaited production opened to mixed reviews, with cheers for German rock star Campino, but scattered boos for Brandauer's "conventional" staging.

RED LORRY YELLOW LORRY: The Best Of - Smashed Hits

The band was formed by guitarist/songwriter Chris Reed and vocalist Mark Sweeney, along with bassist Steve Smith and drummer Mick Brown (who would later join The Mission UK). Sweeney left the band in late 1981 and Reed permanently took over as vocalist, with Martin Fagan joining as a second guitarist. The group's sound, featuring a numbing guitar drone, powerfully throbbing drums, and Reed's cavernous vocal tones, caused the Lorries (as their fans came to call them) to be quickly lumped into the then-developing gothic rock scene by pop journalists, although the band themselves preferred to cite Killing Joke and Wire as influences.
In 1982, independent record label Red Rhino signed the band based on the strength of some of the group's demos. Their first single was "Beating My Head" later that year. The song made a strong appearance on the influential New Musical Express (NME) independent record chart. Fagan and Smith soon departed the band, to be replaced by Dave Wolfenden and Paul Southern respectively. While numerous other personnel changes would occur in the history of the band, Wolfenden became a mainstay and a frequent songwriting partner of Reed's during the band's most productive period. In 1983 and 1984, several more singles would be released by the band (including "He's Read" and "Monkeys On Juice"). In 1985, the band's debut album, Talk about the Weather, was released and reached #1 on the NME indie rock chart. The album, which most fans consider to be the band's best, received generally positive reviews and sold extremely well for a small label offering. "Hollow Eyes", a single taken from the album, obtained good sales as well, as did follow-up non-LP singles "Chance" and "Spinning Round", the latter of which is generally felt to be the Lorries's strongest song. The band released one more album on Red Rhino (Paint Your Wagon) in 1986, a single (“Cut Down”) and a four track EP (“Crawling Mantra”, released as by The Lorries), before signing to Situation Two, an off-shoot of major label Beggars Banquet Records. Two albums followed, 1988's Nothing Wrong and 1989's Blow. Neither one of the Beggars Banquet albums appeared on any mainstream pop charts. Singles, including “Only Dreaming (Wide Awake)” and “Open Up” (which upon its release was chosen by NME as the magazine’s Single of the Week), also failed to chart, and the band was subsequently dropped by the label. In 1991, the band released Blasting Off on the tiny Sparkhead label. Despite the relative strength of the song "Talking Back" (released as a single prior to the LP), the album was considered a major disappointment by fans and sold poorly. Reed broke up what was left of the band at that point.
In 2003, Reed revived the name Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and released four new songs in 2004, available via internet download only on the band’s website. The band toured frequently in the UK during 2004 and 2005, but no additional Red Lorry Yellow Lorry material has subsequently appeared to date. In 2006, Reed released an acoustic-based album, Minimal Animal, utilizing the band name of "Chris Reed Unit"

SECTION 5: Rejected

The band is the brainchild of Klosec and until quite recently John "Sid" Berry. Along the way, they've been aided and abetted by Tezz who has gigged with Discharge/Broken Bones/Ministry and the UK Subs, among a zillion others. Honorable mention must also be made of Fish from The Skeptix, as well as Steve and Neil "Lurch" Walker from Close Shave. Rat from Rough Kutz has been known to share the boards with the band from time to time, too. If you want to keep a scorecard, that means Section 5 has successfully absorbed spiky headed anarchy men (Discharge/Skeptix), unreconstructed Oi boys (Shave) and ska hitmen (Kutz) on one beer soaked stage.
It's true Tosh is the only original member left from the band's inception circa 1982 in England's Stoke-On-Trent, but unlike almost all their compatriots, the amazing thing is that Section 5 has never broken up. Tosh has merely re-shuffled the line-ups and kept plugging. Tosh is not a man to deal with cash-ins, nostalgia, or pretending 2006 is the same as 1983. They've released one mini-LP, eight full-length albums and literally countless compilation tracks and numerous singles. And I've honestly yet to hear something bad from the group. Certainly some records are better than others, but all have some merit. I consider myself a politically minded person. I've gone from teen reactionary to proud lefty. (You can take the boy out of Cambridge, MA…..) . Section 5 has always considered themselves non-political and open to all. Whether they like it or not, that can be perceived as a stance in of itself. And they've suffered for it. By their own admission sometimes it's been self-inflicted. Still, their egalitarian entrance policy for both fans and actual members speaks for itself. More pointedly, their recent cancellation of a large gig in Germany due to the dubious associations of one of the bands on the bill, plus the ending of a long standing feud with a very well known left wing band are the only other pieces of evidence I need. And I sure as hell don't need any evidence to know a great band when I hear one.
This interview would have existed solely in my head if it weren't for the superhuman efforts of Fish from The Skeptix, who actually tracked down Tosh for the interrogation. Many, many heartfelt thanks, Fish. Section 5. They've think it's all over. Is it, fuck?

SPECIALS: The Specials (Re-up)

After being formed in 1977 by Dammers, Golding, and Panter, the band was first called The Automatics, and then The Coventry Automatics.[1] Terry Hall and Roddy Radiation joined the band the following year, and the band changed its name to The Special AKA The Coventry Automatics, and then to The Special AKA. Joe Strummer of The Clash had attended one of their concerts, and invited The Special AKA to open for his band in their On Parole UK Tour. This performance gave The Special AKA a new level of national exposure, and they briefly shared the Clash's management. In 1979, Dammers decided to form his own record label, and 2 Tone Records was born. On this label, the band released "Gangsters", which became a Top Ten hit in 1979. In a nod to classic Ska, the album lead off with Dandy Livingstone's "A Message to You Rudy" and also had covers of Prince Buster and Toots and the Maytals songs from the late 1960s.
The band had begun wearing mod/rude boy/skinhead-style two-tone tonic suits, along with other elements of late 1960s teen fashions. Their debut LP was Specials, produced by Elvis Costello. "Too Much Too Young" was a number one hit in the UK Singles Chart, despite controversy over the song's lyrics, which reference teen pregnancy and promote [[condom] use. Their second album, More Specials was not as commercially successful or plainly ska-influenced as previous recordings. The album featured a more experimental approach; including influences from pop music, new wave, and muzak. The band also experimented with what could be described as dark, almost psychedelic reggae. Notable female backing singers on the Specials first two studio albums included: Chrissie Hynde, Rhoda Dakar (Then of The Bodysnatchers and later of The Special AKA), Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey (of The Go-Gos).
After "Ghost Town" hit number one in 1981, Staple, Golding and Hall left the band (forming Fun Boy Three). Dammers added Stan Campbell, to begin working again under the group's previous name Special AKA. The resulting album, In the Studio, was not very commercially successful, although the songs "Racist Friend" and "Nelson Mandela" were hits. The latter contributed to making Mandela a cause célèbre in the United Kingdom, and became popular with anti-Apartheid activists in South Africa. Dammers then dissolved the band and pursued political activism.

THE VIBRATORS: The Best of The Vibrators (First Edition)

The Vibrators are a long-lived British punk rock band, formed in 1976. Originally, they were comprised of Ian "Knox" Carnochan (born Ian M Carnochan, 4 April 1945, Cricklewood, North West London), bassist; Pat Collier (born October 1951); guitarist John Ellis (born 1 June 1952, London) and a drummer known as "Eddie" (born John Edwards, 1 April 1951). They first came to public notice at the 100 Club when they backed Chris Spedding in 1976. On Spedding's recommendation, his record company, RAK, signed them. They released their first single, "We Vibrate", produced by Mickie Most, and also backed Spedding on his single "Pogo Dancing". The next year they supported Iggy Pop on his British tour. They signed to Epic Records and released their follow-up single "Baby Baby".
Despite numerous line-up changes, The Vibrators are still touring to this date, as a three-piece: Carnochan & "Eddie" being the only original members. They have also been largely supported by bands from local areas, including The Front. During the 1980s, John Ellis recorded and toured frequently with Peter Hammill, and subsequently The Stranglers, eventually joining the latter full-time during the 1990s. The Northern Irish punk / rock band, Stiff Little Fingers, took their name from a Vibrators song. Their discography is notable for adding a vast haul of live albums, outtakes round-ups, and best-ofs. One of the more recent is Live Near The Seedy Mill Golf Course, released in the UK by Invisible Hands Music in 2003.

FACE TO FACE: (1995) Big Choice (320kbps)

This is Face to Face's 2nd album, and it is way better than the first! This album, Big Choice, gets you pumped up to do whatever you do that requires lots of energy. This is a kick-ass album to skate to, buts its not one of those backround crappy punk bands they play in the beginning of a tv show or something stupid like that, this CD you can sit down and listen to it, and it means very meaningful lyrics from one of the best punk bands, ever! You can listen to it over and over and these awsome songs such as "struggle", "sensible", "you lied" and "promises", and all the other sweet songs never get outplayed. "Don't Turn Away" was in '92, and "Big Choice" was released in '95. Face to Face put lots of effort into this album, almost 3 years, and they did a great freakin' job my friends! Face to Face's "Big Choice" is by far their best album, and I recommend you getting this album if you like punk and music to get to you pumped up!

LEMONHEADS: (1993) Creator (320kbps)

Throughout rock history, there are a lot of examples of frontmen retaining a band's name after all other original members have departed or been dismissed, and this is probably the worst. The Deily/Strohm/Peretz/Dando Lemonheads were an awesome band. Creator is probably the best recorded representation of that lineup, but live they were just an untouchable punk rock force. Dando's insistence on dragging the name through the mud with the dreck that he foisted on the public after 1989 was inexcusable. That being said, you should all pick this up and bow down at the altar of one of rock's best tunesmiths... Ben Deily.

Tracks:
1. Burying Ground
2. Sunday
3. Clang Bang Clang
4. Out

LEMONHEADS: (1992) Lick (320kbps)

It still holds up more than 10 years and dozens of listenings later. The songs are catchy and clever with a punk edge and a sense of humor. None of it is filler and "Luka" alone is worth the price of admission. But if you are a fan of the "Into Your Arms"-type pop songs, you might not like this. I think it was all downhill from this point. If you do like this, check out "Creator" and "Hate your Friends", forget the later stuff. This is the early years.and the early years was the most powerful lemonheads period ever.it's a must own....the rapidly budding Dando [flexes] a burgeoning [songwriting] talent....the real killer here is `Luka,' a wired rewrite of Suzanne Vega's ghastly, mawkish hit; [shows a] talent for melancholy recontextualisation of the oddest source material.

Tracks:
1. Mallo Cup
2. Glad I Don't Know
3. 7 Powers
4. A Circle Of One
5. Cazzo Di Fierro

RIVERDALES: (1995) Riverdales (320kbps)

for some who don't know, The Riverdales is Screeching Weasel minus one, and if Screeching Weasel wasn't Ramones-ish enough, then you need to check out these guys. very awesome punk rock treats here. there are only about 4 songs on the whole cd i listen to, but you should buy this cd for one song only, and that's "Back To You".........that song is frickin' awesome. get this. the riverdales-consisting of members from schreeching weasel-put out a great punk recording w/ three chords , harmonies & the whole shebang. If you like the Ramones (simple, catch-y, 50's based style), then check out the Riverdales. The best tracks, IMHO, are Back to You and In Your Dreams. This album moves at a good clip all the way through...and not so fast that you trip on the lyrics while singing. I would love to see them in a bar ....and they make good beach music.....the guitar work is GOOD too.

Tracks:
1. Fun Tonight
2. Judy Go Home

RIVERDALES: Storm the Streets (320kbps)

Last seen recording for Look Out! and opening for Green Day in 1995 at enormodomes everywhere, Riverdales are back with a vengeance, sporting a new label, the same ol' snotty attitude, and the requisite Ramones-style buzz on their second album (14 songs in just under 32 minutes, and not one of them a stinker). Beyond the fact that Dan Schafer sings some of the tunes and Ben Weasel uses his real surname, I've never been able to tell the difference between Riverdales and Ben's other (semi-legendary) punk combo, Screeching Weasel. Not that it matters: Both bands deliver catchy, high-energy punk that will have you pogoing around the living room like a idiot. And "Riverdale Stomp" is one of the best anthems Ben has ever had a hand in. --Jim Derogatis

RARITIES, Unreleased tracks and the uncommon chance to hear the MIGHTY Freeze live! THE FREEZE cuts off of THIS IS BOSTON NOT LA are easily the best tracks off the album. Although just a hint of better things to come, this band was never afraid to stand up for what it felt was right, even at the risk of raising some hackles within their own scene. This is a band of leaders, not followers. They created their own sound and identity, one that will never be equalled in raw quality and finely tuned magic!.. Golias

VA: No Fate Vol. 2 - World Hardcore Compilation (VBR)

This compilation Cd is not based on some distinct idea. I guess many people notice that there are invisible barriers in the hardcore scene. This CD could not be happened without the dedications and contributions of the bands who try to break down the wall. The weak keep any from the strong. It makes some distance. If you notice that the distance itself is another form of discrimination may be you can see the things differently, I guess. I hope the energy of the sound and the messages threw by bands on this compilation will move you to take actions. Check out the different approach and style of hardcore music...and enjoy!

GANG GREEN - ANOTHER WASTED NIGHT

Skateboards, Beer, Parties, Girls...Count me in!!!! This is the best Gang Green album ever. If you are lucky enough to have ever seen these guys live you know what I'm talking about. I had the pleasure of seeing them in the 80's at the Cameo Theatre in Miami Beach. I was in New York a few months ago and freaked out when I saw they were playing at CBGB's. I had Chris sign "Skate To Hell" on my old school Factory 13 skateboard! I was so stoked. He was the coolest guy and the show was rad! This album always gets my blood pumping. Buy it and you'll want to go skate some curbs and do a boneless or two... then drink some beer. This album RULES!

GANG GREEN: (1990) Can't Live Without It

Gang Green was a hardcore punk band originally from Braintree, Massachusetts. The first incarnation of the band consisted of 15 year olds Chris Doherty, Mike Dean, and Bill Manley and contributed seven tracks to the This Is Boston, Not L.A. compilation in 1982. That same year the group disbanded and lead singer Chris Doherty joined the band Jerry's Kids for their album Is This My World? In 1985 Doherty reemerged with an all new Gang Green lineup consisting of himself (vocals, guitar), Chuck Stilphen (guitar, vocals), Glenn Stilphen (bass, vocals) and Walter Gustafson (drums). This second lineup is the most famous nationally as it was both the first to tour and the one that recorded the classic songs "Alcohol" and "Skate to Hell". This edition of Gang Green released the Another Wasted Night LP on Taang! Records in 1986. It is regarded as one of the definitive hardcore records of its time.
By 1987, when they were signed by Roadrunner Records the band’s musical style had come to lean more toward heavy metal and the personnel of the band, save Doherty, had changed completely. This incarnation of Gang Green consisted of Doherty, Fritz Erickson (guitar), Joe Gittleman (bass) and former Jerry's Kids drummer Brian Betzger. In 1989 Gittleman left to devote more time to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and was replaced by Josh Pappe, formerly of Dirty Rotten Imbeciles.

GANG GREEN: (1989) Older Budweiser + Plus This is Boston, Not L.A. (ep)

Older... Budweiser was the third full-length album released by Boston, Massachusetts hardcore punk/speed metal band, Gang Green. It was released in 1989, a year after the EP, I81B4U. It was the last full album of new material to emerge from the band until 1997's EP, Back & Gacked, but was followed by a live album, Can't LIVE Without It in 1990. After the album was released, bass player Joe Gittleman was sacked and replaced by D.R.I.'s Josh Pappe in time to tour.
It was the first time the band had recorded outside of their Boston, Massachusetts hometown as well. Rhode Island was the new setting, with Tom Soares replacing Daniel Rey at the mixing and production table. A change of scenery, to Rhode Island – near the heart of the burgeoning New York hardcore scene – saw a marked change in sound for the band, although it had the same members as had performed previously. Songwriting was no longer a solo effort on the part of Doherty with a few token collaborations. Nearly every track was written in partnership with another member – even Joe Gittleman was the sole writer of two tracks, this maybe contributing to his urge to form a new band which he was free to do after this release.
The lyrics changed from fun, beerdrinking, womanizing anthems to more socio-political themes – except "Bedroom of Doom" which reverted to form, albeit momentarily. "We Can Go" was an acknowledgement that they knew they had disappointed some fans by "selling out" or "going metal" – but it contained the message that no matter what the genre, they could still enjoy a punk or metal show as it was the music – not the dress code or hair length – which counted. "Church of Fun" was a stab at the widespread prominence of evangelism – it was almost obligatory for bands, whether metal or punk, to write a song on this subject. Musically, the up-beat funtime catchy melody had dissipated somewhat, making way for a more darker mood which only returns on "Bedroom of Doom" only to give way to full on thrash metal on "Casio Jungle" – an attack on electronica music. The songs are slower, which means they are not played as fast as they can possibly go with this band. There is even a song featuring an orchestra – "Ballad" – which although was tongue-in-cheek was still a departure in genre even for that time.
Overall, the album appeased the hardcore punk fans with its "local" NYHC-style sound. It also still bore a certain amount of metallic attributes to keep the thrash fans happy – even they could not deny the message in "We Can Go" – and above all, proved the band had more than one dimension lyrically – this obviously being the point, according to the album's punworthy title.

Tracks:
1. "Church of Fun" (Chris Doherty, Brian Betzger) – 3:10
2. "Just One Bullet" (Doherty, Betzger) – 3:00
3. "We Can Go" (Joe Gittleman, Doherty) – 2:19
4. "Tear Down The Walls" (Fritz Ericson, Doherty) – 3:11

OUT OF ORDER: Survival of The Fittest (VBR)

I'll get right to the point. If you missed seeing Out Of Order, then you missed one of the top five bands Chicago ever produced. Out of Order was everything that you wanted a live band to be. Ripping tunes with a manic on drums, perfectionist on guitar and someone that everyone was trying to be on vocals. The band made everything look so amazingly efortless that the poor excuses for headliners they occationally fronted (usually the Brit - types) had to be shaking in their Doc Martins to follow them up.
The ''scene'' during the '80s in Chicago began as a time of waiting around for the infrequent visit of a Black Flag or UK Subs to carry the day and boost the hopes of the growning frenzy on avid smart music followers. When Out of Order (and a hand full of others) burst onto the local scene there suddenly became a reason to go out and see local talent, spike your hair, mosh whatever... you know the drill.

ANTI-SOCIAL: Battle Scarred Skinheads!

This is a pretty good Oi! band from '81. There are some rippin songs on this album. All of the last 7 songs pretty much kick-ass cuz they're from Anti's first demo release or some shit. I think I like those songs cuz they have a Menace sound to them. They do a decent cover of a Sham 69 song, "What Have We Got" but, the best song on here is either "Live and Let Live" or "New Punks"(Demo Version). Uhhh...so like...if you're into Oi! and you don't have this then, you should probably get this or some shit.

Tracks:
1 Too Many People
2 Let's Have Some Fun
3 Backstreet Boys
4 Your Choice
5 New Punks
6 Screw U
7 Battle Scarred Skinheads
8 Official Hooligan
9 Sewer Rat
10 What Have We Got
11 Bollocks
12 Can't Even Dream
13 Anti War
14 New Punks (Demo)
15 Union Jack
16 Live And Let Live
17 Brick Wall

MY OWN LIES & Y: (2003) Tough Guys Save The World..to Death

Ralf and Steffen (who share their apartment) got to know each other very well and they were absolutely needing to have a new fast core-band, so that Ralf (actually drummer) could play bass once again. Steffen got to know Martin, guitarist of NYCTOPHOBIC through a mutual friend and asked him if he wanted to join their new project and if he knew a vocalist.
Martin asked me, Zimbo (NYCTO's vocalist)about screaming in a Hardcore-band and I also joined that project because I was already waiting for such an opportunity but actually as guitarist... When we met the first few times Martin and Steffen played guitars, Ralf played bass, Nanouk (COSTA'S CAKE HOUSE) played drums and I was supposed to "sing". With that line-up we created the first two songs (superficial and life controlled) but Nanouk unfortunately had to come from the longest distance to our rehearsal room without a car and he is also having two further side-projects and C.C.H., so we couldn't practice very often... After a few conversations with us and without Nanouk he left the band without any negative vibrations, because we were not satisfied with practicing so rarely. Then we thought about the new line-up with only four people, that's when I told the other ones, that I'd prefer playing guitar - so Ralf gave up the bassplaying and sat down again on his drum stool (what he first didn't want to...) and Martin started playing bass and today's line-up was fixed:
Ralf - drums/vocals (PRONE/STACK/x-DIAVOLO ROSSO/x-CHOREA ...)
Steffen - guitar (FEAR IS THE PATH TO THE DARKSIDE/STACK/x-DIAVOLO ROSSO)
Martin - bass (NYCTOPHOBIC)
Zimbo - guitar/vocals (NYCTOPHOBIC)
Today I think our little project has become a band and we all have loads of fun with creating songs and playing them live. We still play (very) fast and varied Hardcore combined with punkish and metalish guitar riffs and our lyrics (written by Ralf and Zimbo) are about society, political and even emotional topics - in general about life and what we see and read. I hope that was enough info for you, if you need to know more about us just e-mail and we will try to answer all your questions. ...and now for something completely different, Zimbo. (2000)

DISCHARGE: First Ever London Show (1980)

Discharge formed in 1977 with the original line up of Terry 'Tez' Roberts on vocals, Tony 'Bones' Roberts on guitar, Roy 'Rainy' Wainwright on guitar, Nigel Bamford on bass and Akko on drums. Shortly after Nigel Bamford left the group, and Rainy moved to bass. This line-up sounded much more like the Sex Pistols, but only recorded one demo. The line-up and the sound changed in 1979. It became: Kelvin 'Cal' Morris on vocals, Bones on guitar, Rainy on bass and Tez on drums, which many consider to be the "classic" Discharge line-up. The heavy, distorted, and grinding guitar-driven sound and anti-melodic shouted or screamed vocals of the new line- up, earned an early crossover appeal to fans of speed metal. Their songs focused on anarchist and pacifist themes emphasizing the grisly effects of nuclear warfare and the social ills caused by capitalism.
The band's approach to lyric-writing also added to the raw power of the band's sound; Discharge songs often stripped down the lyrics to a guttural, repeated message, to forcefully express a song's theme. Perhaps the most extreme example of this approach is the song "Free Speech for the Dumb," which consists solely of the words from the song's title. The band was also notable for its expression of its political and social themes in its albums artwork, which depicted the horrors of war using an iconic black-and-white photography style. In 1980, Discharge signed on with Clay Records, releasing the single "Realities of War," which made the UK indie charts. After the EP releases in the same year, Discharge went through many line-up changes. Tezz (drums) departed, and was replaced by Dave 'Bambi' Ellesmere (formerly of The Insane) before the Why EP was recorded. Only briefly prior to that Welsh stixman a very young 16 year old Keith Haynes appeared on drums for a very short time before moving back to Wales to carry on his duties with Picture Frame Seduction this time on vocals In 1982, Discharge released a full album entitled Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing, which made it to the UK Albums Chart.
The "Never Again" EP saw another line-up change. Gary Maloney of The Varukers played drums. Bones departed before Warning..., which was when Discharge began adding more metal influences. The band saw yet another change in the line-up in 1985, with the release of Ignorance. The band saw many more changes with its transition into a more metallic sound and in 1985 they released Grave New World, a record to be forgotten in the Discharge discography, sounding more glam metal in style. After this, they disbanded, only to return in the beginning of the 1990s. In 2002, however the original line up was finally reunited for the release of Discharge. Shortly after the release of this record, the band toured, playing to generally indifferent audiences. Cal immediately left the band and was subsequently replaced by Rat of seminal UK band, THE VARUKERS. An honor for Rat, who sports a Discharge tattoo on his neck. The band continues to play in the UK.Also in 2002, Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing was voted the number one punk album of all time in a poll by Terrorizer magazine.
