Sonoma County is a county in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2010 United States Census, its population was 483,878. Its county seat and largest city is Santa Rosa.
Sonoma County comprises the Santa Rosa, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA Combined Statistical Area. It is the northwestern county in the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area region.
Sonoma is the southwestern county and largest producer of California's Wine Country region, which also includes Napa, Mendocino, and Lake counties. It has 13 approved American Viticultural Areas and over 250 wineries. In 2002, Sonoma County ranked as the 32nd county in the United States in agricultural production. As early as 1920, Sonoma County was ranked as the eighth most agriculturally productive US county and a leading producer of hops, grapes, prunes, apples, and dairy and poultry products, largely due to the extent of available, fertile agricultural land in addition to the abundance of high quality irrigation water. More than 7.4 million tourists visit each year, spending more than $1 billion in 2006. Sonoma County is the home of Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College.
Sonoma may refer to:
A county, abbreviated Cnty. (US) or Co. (UK and Ireland), is a geographical region of a country used for administrative or other purposes, in certain modern nations. The term is derived from the Old French conté or cunté denoting a jurisdiction under the sovereignty of a count (earl) or a viscount. The modern French is comté, and its equivalents in other languages are contea, contado, comtat, condado, Grafschaft, graafschap, Gau, etc. (cf. conte, comte, conde, Graf).
When the Normans conquered England, they brought the term with them. The Saxons had already established the districts that became the historic counties of England, calling them shires (many county names derive from the name of the county town with the word "shire" added on: for example, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire). The Vikings introduced the term earl (from Old Norse, jarl) to the British Isles. Thus, "earl" and "earldom" were taken as equivalent to the continental use of "count" and "county". So the later-imported term became a synonym for the native English word scir ([ʃiːr]) or, in Modern English, shire. Since a shire was an administrative division of the kingdom, the term "county" evolved to designate an administrative division of national government in most modern uses.

I've been doing a lot of studying on the benefits of shooting Raw with ML. So, I decided to take a stab at it. I purchased a Lexar 1066x Card from Amazon, installed ML on my 5D, and shot some footage during our time in Sonoma County. My wife and I are trying out this local exploring thing, and I figured this would be a perfect time to try this out. Workflow: - Shot in RAW - Not one frame dropped using the Lexar 1066x - Imported and converted .raw to a dng sequence using RAWMagic Lite for Mac - Imported DNG sequence into Resolve 10 Lite - Graded in Resolve, which was a whole new beast for me - Exported as PRORES 422 HQ - Back into FCPX - Music added and edited in FCPX All in all this was a HUGE learning experience, but I can definitely see the benefits of shooting in RAW. Some test footage I shot with my new Canon XC-15 camera that I put together into something more presentable. Shot handheld in Canon LOG. Grain was intentionally added in post using FilmConvert. Also used Color Finale for grading as well. Caged animals were filmed at Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue
