"I saw my friends coming back to the village from Malaysia with lots of money... so I came here." But, Nirmala Bonat soon wished she had stayed behind. Her employer "poured hot water over me, pressed an iron to my body and beat me all over". Without legislation to protect the 320,000 Indonesian workers in Malaysia, it is a widespread and growing problem. Whilst Malaysia's Indonesian Ambassador Prince Rushdihardjo worries about those injured that "escape to our embassy," his government is reluctant to complain. It seems the wealth they return to their country is too valuable.

Even now after a two year moratorium has been lifted, only a trickle of Indonesians are coming in to work as live-in domestic helpers.

Maid
A maid, or housemaid or maidservant, is a female person employed in domestic service. Although now usually found only in the most wealthy of households, in the Victorian era domestic service was the second largest category of employment in England and Wales, after agricultural work.
Description
Once part of an elaborate hierarchy in great houses, today a single maid may be the only domestic worker that upper and even middle-income households can afford, as was historically the case for many households. In the contemporary Western world, comparatively few households can afford live-in domestic help, usually compromising on periodic cleaners. In less developed nations, very large differences in the income of urban and rural households and between different socio-economic classes, fewer educated women and limited opportunities for working women ensures a labour source for domestic work.
Maids perform typical domestic chores such as cooking, ironing, washing, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, walking the family dog, and taking care of children. In many places in some poor countries, maids often take on the role of a nurse in taking care of the elderly and people with disabilities. Many maids are required by their employers to wear a uniform.

Abuse is the improper usage or treatment of an entity, often to unfairly or improperly gain benefit. Abuse can come in many forms, such as: physical or verbal maltreatment, injury, assault, violation, rape, unjust practices; crimes, or other types of aggression.

Abuse of authority
Abuse of authority, in the form of political corruption, is the use of legislated or otherwise authorised powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. Misuse of government power for other purposes, such as repression of political opponents and general police brutality, is not considered political corruption. Neither are illegal acts by private persons or corporations not directly involved with the government. An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties.
Abuse of authority is separated from abuse of power in that the act is originally condoned, but is extended beyond that initially conceived and is in not all cases

The Buganda Road Court has sentenced the maid who was captured on camera beating a toddler to four years in prison. The maid, Jolly Tumuhiirwe, last week pleaded guilty to the charge of assault and causing grievous bodily harm. The toddlers parents broke down in tears upon hearing the sentence. Her employer "poured hot water over me, pressed an iron to my body and beat me all over". Without legislation to protect the 320,000 Indonesian workers in Malaysia, it is a widespread and growing problem. Whilst Malaysia's Indonesian Ambassador Prince Rushdihardjo worries about those injured that "escape to our embassy," his government is reluctant to complain. It seems the wealth they return to their country is too valuable.

I Have it Maid is a documentary that talks with runaway domestic household workers from the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam to learn about the reasons and situations associated with their fleeing. The film then focuses on a specific case about a Filipina named Vicky, who after years of working 24/7 on call with almost no time off, decides to run away from her employer out of desperation.

本記錄片探討在台灣之菲律賓、印尼、越南籍看護勞工，其所處的工作環境以及
為何最後選擇逃避的方式解決工作問題。本片以採訪個案方式呈現，片中人物
Vicky，在台灣幾近全年無休地工作，因此最後選擇逃逸的方式面對其雇主。
Directed by Alex Wolfgram and Nick Vaky, the two former graduate students of NCCU in Taiwan trace Vicky’s life from the Philippines when she was hired from her original broker all the way throughout her life in Taiwan in order to understand how her life ended up the way it did. The film incorporates interviews with brokers in addition to ones with various scholars, NGOs and politicians from both Taiwan and the Philippines to give viewers a comprehensive understanding of the structures and issues that most people believe are causing the workers to flee. I Have it Maid then concludes with suggestions as to how to improve the phenomenon of runaway workers for both the betterment of their lives in Taiwan as well as Taiwan’s society.

Vaky所攝製。拍攝過程中，一路由Vicky菲律賓家鄉，追朔如何透過人力仲介公司
