We helped sponsor the Grand Opening of the Watsonville Skatepark. We showed up with some product and barged into the restricted park. The City of Watsonville was doing a ribbon cutting and event, which meant we had to wear pads and skate by age group till 2pm but that didn't stop us form getting some first runs in the newly built park. Security kept telling us to stop but we have a hard time with people trying to regulate skateboarding. After the opening event part was done it was go time and we did our own ribbon cutting with the Mayor of Watsonville for some good ol padless skateboarding. Members of the Santa Cruz Flying Club flew the Bay Tour Saturday, January 28. 2012. The flight of two (a Cessna 150L and Cessna 172N) departed Watsonville, California (KWVI) and landed at a very busy Livermore Airport (KLVK). The route took us clockwise from Watsonville, over Highway 17 and the Lexington Reservoir, up the peninsula, just west of SFO and AT&T; Park, then East of the financial district at about 2,500 feet. The airspace around KSFO was very busy as evidenced by ATC chatter. I often had up to 7 targets on my TIS display (Garmin 430W) at a time. Over the bay, we passed near Alcatraz, the Golden Gate and Angel Island. After flying over San Pablo Bay, we headed east to the Carquinez Straights and the mothball fleet, then southeast over Concord and down the valley toward ...

Starting out near Salmon Creek Falls on California Route 1, we head North passing some absolutely beautiful sights. Road work had traffic tied up near the Limekiln State Campground. So I whip out my phone and shot some video of the coastline. The gray things you see on the beach below are seals. Finally traffic starts to move again and we pass under a man made tunnel and a new bridge CalTrans is working on. From here it's a long ways to Carmel Highlands. We'll fill up in Carmel (the first station was 10¢ higher then the 2nd station, so I changed lanes quickly.) We'll travel the Monterey Metro Area and stay with CA-1. We'll pass Watsonville on our way to the Santa Cruz Metro Area. Staying on CA-1 we stay on the coastline up to just East of the Pigeon Point Lighthouse where we change out dis...
Watch in high quality (480p). In this video, it shows our mini, last minute Father's Day outing to Capitola Beach, CA. It was actually quite warm this day, reaching to the upper 80s. So a few of us decided to go last minute to the beach. It was myself, my sister, Richie, the Catbagans and Bernadette, Jose and Shane that went. The video first shows us headed towards Capitola, CA from home. We went along Highway 152 westward towards Watsonville, CA. It was nice we went through the mountains and winding roads and through the thick dense forests. Once on the other side of the Santa Cruz Mountains, we saw Watsonville and also seeing the coastal fog hug the coastline. It was just passed 4:30 p.m. at the time when we started descending towards Watsonville. Once around Watsonville, we ...
