SYNOPSIS :
Le film traite de la monotonie de la vie de deux étudiants, banale et
routinière. Prisonniers de leur ennui, leur vie semble réglée par une habitude machinale sans que leur volonté n'intervienne.
EXPLICATION / INTENTION :
L'intention fut de marquer la monotonie de la vie de deux colocataires en études supérieures et d'expliquer comment ils ont pu rater leur année universitaire en choisissant la facilité, la liberté de faire ce qu'ils veulent, à n'importe quel moment, tout en étant maintenu par le désir de cette continuelle et fausse liberté.
Cette liberté n'est qu'un voile noir dans les yeux des deux étudiants qui, à force de la cultiver, s'enracine en elle et ne prenne plus plaisir à l'apprécier. Machinalement ils se sentent libres de faire ce qu'ils veulent sans se rendre compte qu'ils sont involontairement tenus par des habitudes strictes et réglées.
L'utilisation d'un filtre chromatique et de split screens (écrans divisés) ainsi que de plans complémentaires viennent uniformiser et renforcer le sentiment de routine dégagé par la vidéo.
RÉFÉRENCES :
Les références utilisées sont : Jim Jarmusch avec Stranger Than Paradise (1985), racontant l'histoire de trois jeunes gens prisonniers de leur ennui et qui cherchent vainement à s'en sortir.
Filmé dans un noir et blanc très contrasté, le film présente une Amérique qui donne peu à rêver où trois personnages qui s'ennuient se mettent en quête d' "hypothétiques beaux lendemains".
C'est la façon qu'a Jim Jarmusch de décrire le célèbre "American Dream".
La musique utilisée présente une basse continue marquant chaque temps, appuyé par des guitares et un chant très mélodieux et lent, offrant une harmonie et une atmosphère particulière. L'utilisation de la musique dans le cinéma de Jim Jarmusch est très marquée et joue un rôle important.
Comme dans le générique de Permanent Vacation, nous avons voulu donner un côté narratif à ce générique en le mettant le plus en valeur possible.
Typographiquement, le générique s'inspire de celui de The Big Lebowski des frères Coen, créé par Randall Balsmeyer, qui a également travaillé avec Jarmusch pour les génériques de Dead Man, Ghost Dog ou encore Broken Flowers.
La typographie très marquée des années 1970 - 1980, au style vieux Rock, nous représente bien puisqu'il s'agit d'une époque, un mode de vie que nous apprécions, tout autant sur le plan cinématographique que musical, ou encore stylistique.

Maggie Q
Margaret Denise Quigley (born May 22, 1979), professionally known as Maggie Q, is an American actress and model. She achieved international notability starring in the title role of The CW's action-thriller series Nikita that aired from 2010 to 2013. In 2014, she portrayed Tori Wu in the film adaptation of Veronica Roth's novel Divergent and its sequels, and starred in the Kevin Williamson CBS drama series Stalker as Lieutenant Beth Davis from 2014 to 2015.
Early life
Q was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her father is of Irish and Polish descent and her mother is a Vietnamese immigrant. Her parents met while her father was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Q grew up with four siblings.
Q attended Mililani Waena Elementary School and Wheeler Intermediate School. She then attended Mililani High School, where she was on the cross country, track and field, and swim teams. She won the title of "Best Body" senior year, and graduated from Mililani High School in 1997. She won an athletics scholarship to a private university and intended to study veterinary science. Q's family was unable to assist her financially; she left Hawaii during the summer in hopes of earning enough money so that she could start her studies in the autumn.

"I Love" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Tom T. Hall. It was released in October 1973 as the only single from the album, For the People in the Last Hard Town. The song would be Hall's most successful single and was his fourth number one on the U.S. country singles chart. The single spent two weeks at the top and a total of 15 weeks on the chart. "I Love" was Hall's only entry on the Top 40 peaking at number 12.
References in popular culture
"I Love" was used, with altered lyrics, in a popular 2003 TV commercial for Coors Light.
The song was used in the film For No Good Reason.
"I Like", a parody version by Heathen Dan, was released on the 1983 compilation album The Rhino Brothers Present the World's Worst Records.

Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman (born Neta-Lee Hershlag; Hebrew: נטע-לי הרשלג; June 9, 1981) is an actress, film producer and film director with dual American and Israeli citizenship. Her first role was in the 1994 action thriller Léon: The Professional, opposite Jean Reno, but mainstream success came when she was cast as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (released in 1999, 2002 and 2005).
Born in Jerusalem to an Israeli father and American mother, Portman grew up in the eastern United States from the age of three. She studied dancing and acting in New York, and starred in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace while still at high school on Long Island. In 1999, Portman enrolled at Harvard University to study psychology, alongside her work as an actress; she completed a bachelor's degree in 2003. During her studies she starred in a second Star Wars film and opened in New York City's Public Theater production of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull in 2001.
Portman starred in the 2004 drama Closer, appeared in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith the following year, and won a Constellation Award for Best Female Performance and a Saturn Award for Best Actress for her starring role in the political thriller V for Vendetta (2006). Yvan Attal
Yvan Attal (born 4 January 1965) is an Israeli-born French actor and director.
Life and career
Born in Tel Aviv to French-Algerian Jewish parents, he grew up in the outskirts of Paris. His acting debut was in Éric Rochant's Un monde sans pitié (1989), which earned him a César Award for Most Promising Actor. His first feature film as director was Ma femme est une actrice (2001), which co-starred Charlotte Gainsbourg, Attal's real-life partner.
He directed a couple of segments in the film New York, I Love You.
He acted in The Interpreter and Anthony Zimmer, and in Rush Hour 3 he played a French cab driver named George.
Personal life
Attal's longtime partner is French-Anglo actress-singer Charlotte Gainsbourg whom he met on the set of the 1991 film Aux yeux du monde.Gainsbourg and Attal are not married and Gainsbourg has attributed her reluctance to marry to the fact that her parents never married. Attal publicly proposed to Gainsbourg on the 19th of June, 2013 during an awards ceremony when he received the French National Order of Merit. However in April 2014 Attal confirmed that they were still unwed with no plans to officially marry.

SYNOPSIS : Le film traite de la monotonie de la vie de deux étudiants, banale et routinière. Prisonniers de leur ennui, leur vie semble réglée par une habitude machinale sans que leur volonté n'intervienne. EXPLICATION / INTENTION : L'intention fut de marquer la monotonie de la vie de deux colocataires en études supérieures et d'expliquer comment ils ont pu rater leur année universitaire en choisissant la facilité, la liberté de faire ce qu'ils veulent, à n'importe quel moment, tout en étant maintenu par le désir de cette continuelle et fausse liberté. Cette liberté n'est qu'un voile noir dans les yeux des deux étudiants qui, à force de la cultiver, s'enracine en elle et ne prenne plus plaisir à l'apprécier. Machinalement ils se sentent libres de faire ce qu'ils veulent sans se rendre compte qu'ils sont involontairement tenus par des habitudes strictes et réglées. L'utilisation d'un filtre chromatique et de split screens (écrans divisés) ainsi que de plans complémentaires viennent uniformiser et renforcer le sentiment de routine dégagé par la vidéo. RÉFÉRENCES : Les références utilisées sont : Jim Jarmusch avec Stranger Than Paradise (1985), racontant l'histoire de trois jeunes gens prisonniers de leur ennui et qui cherchent vainement à s'en sortir. Filmé dans un noir et blanc très contrasté, le film présente une Amérique qui donne peu à rêver où trois personnages qui s'ennuient se mettent en quête d' "hypothétiques beaux lendemains". C'est la façon qu'a Jim Jarmusch de décrire le célèbre "American Dream". La musique utilisée présente une basse continue marquant chaque temps, appuyé par des guitares et un chant très mélodieux et lent, offrant une harmonie et une atmosphère particulière. L'utilisation de la musique dans le cinéma de Jim Jarmusch est très marquée et joue un rôle important. Comme dans le générique de Permanent Vacation, nous avons voulu donner un côté narratif à ce générique en le mettant le plus en valeur possible. Typographiquement, le générique s'inspire de celui de The Big Lebowski des frères Coen, créé par Randall Balsmeyer, qui a également travaillé avec Jarmusch pour les génériques de Dead Man, Ghost Dog ou encore Broken Flowers. La typographie très marquée des années 1970 - 1980, au style vieux Rock, nous représente bien puisqu'il s'agit d'une époque, un mode de vie que nous apprécions, tout autant sur le plan cinématographique que musical, ou encore stylistique. Le film traite de la monotonie de la vie de deux étudiants, banale et
routinière. Prisonniers de leur ennui, leur vie semble réglée par une habitude machinale sans que leur volonté n'intervienne.
EXPLICATION / INTENTION :
L'intention fut de marquer la monotonie de la vie de deux colocataires en études supérieures et d'expliquer comment ils ont pu rater leur année universitaire en choisissant la facilité, la liberté de faire ce qu'ils veulent, à n'importe quel moment, tout en étant maintenu par le désir de cette continuelle et fausse liberté.
Cette liberté n'est qu'un voile noir dans les yeux des deux étudiants qui, à force de la cultiver, s'enracine en elle et ne prenne plus plaisir à l'apprécier. Machinalement ils se sentent libres de faire ce qu'ils veulent sans se rendre compte qu'ils sont involontairement tenus par des habitudes strictes et réglées.
L'utilisation d'un filtre chromatique et de split screens (écrans divisés) ainsi que de plans complémentaires viennent uniformiser et renforcer le sentiment de routine dégagé par la vidéo.
RÉFÉRENCES :
Les références utilisées sont : Jim Jarmusch avec Stranger Than Paradise (1985), racontant l'histoire de trois jeunes gens prisonniers de leur ennui et qui cherchent vainement à s'en sortir.
Filmé dans un noir et blanc très contrasté, le film présente une Amérique qui donne peu à rêver où trois personnages qui s'ennuient se mettent en quête d' "hypothétiques beaux lendemains".
C'est la façon qu'a Jim Jarmusch de décrire le célèbre "American Dream".
La musique utilisée présente une basse continue marquant chaque temps, appuyé par des guitares et un chant très mélodieux et lent, offrant une harmonie et une atmosphère particulière. L'utilisation de la musique dans le cinéma de Jim Jarmusch est très marquée et joue un rôle important.
Comme dans le générique de Permanent Vacation, nous avons voulu donner un côté narratif à ce générique en le mettant le plus en valeur possible.
Typographiquement, le générique s'inspire de celui de The Big Lebowski des frères Coen, créé par Randall Balsmeyer, qui a également travaillé avec Jarmusch pour les génériques de Dead Man, Ghost Dog ou encore Broken Flowers.
La typographie très marquée des années 1970 - 1980, au style vieux Rock, nous représente bien puisqu'il s'agit d'une époque, un mode de vie que nous apprécions, tout autant sur le plan cinématographique que musical, ou encore stylistique.
