Some people love unions. Some people say unions are no good. This video does a spectacular job of showing what happens with public union employees, our taxes and their money. Also, how are politicians involved in all this?
Paul Ryan says, "In a Romney-Ryan administration we will not be ambiguous, we will stand with education reform, we will champion bipartisan education reforms putting students first."
Consider the teachers' strike going on in Chicago (Sept 2012), then watch the video:
** Chicago teachers average salary: $70,000 -- $76,000 per year (Highest or 2nd highest in nation).
** Chicago average family income: $47,000 per year.
** The city has already offered an 11% raise to teachers, but the union denied it.
** The Chicago Teachers Union originally asked for a 30% raise.
** Average health-care costs paid by teachers: 3%.
** Out of every new dollar set aside for public education in Illinois in the last 5 years, 71 cents goes to teacher retirement costs.
** Only 15% of fourth graders are proficient in reading.
** Only 56% of students who enter their freshman year of high school wind up graduating.

このアルバムは1st Full Albumということなのですが、全体的に聴いてみてこれがUNIONSの1枚目だ！
と自信を持って発信していける初期衝動、勢いを感じられました。どの楽曲でもツインボーカルの掛け合いが
ほんとにいい爆発力を生み出していて、個人的には３曲目のI Promiseが少し懐かしいエモ、スクリーモのような印象もあり、
それでいて新しいサウンドも入っており、90年代のエモ、スクリーモ好きとしてはグッときました。
ピアノとギターの高音の絡め方、パッと入ってくるストリングスなど、細かく練られていて気持ちいい。
激しさの中にも繊細でエモーショナルな6人の感情が詰まった1枚を是非手に取ってみてください。

Leaked documents from an ultra-conservative organization, the Bradley Foundation, reveals their plans to destroy unions nationwide.Bradley has already done debilitating damage to workers’ rights in their home state of Wisconsin, and plans to take that blueprint to other politically sensitive and swing states. Their long term plan is to turn the red states blue through removing the funding unions provide to Democratic and Progressive candidates, as stated in the documents. They, however, file their taxes as a charity giving them the freedom to launder money to groups with aggressive anti-union policies. Correspondent Naomi Karavani gives the details.

Do unions raise wages for workers as a whole? If not, can unions raise the wages of some workers? The answer is, well, it depends. Unions have the ability to restrict the supply of labor to a job, which can increase wages for some workers. However, unions can also lower wages. For example, work stoppages and strikes supported by unions can slow down economic growth, lowering real wages. To illustrate this, we take a look at what happened to Great Britain’s economy during the 1970’s union strikes.
It’s important to note that unions are not just about wages — they can be helpful in protecting workers from arbitrary abuses and maintaining positive workplace relationships.
Finally, we ask — are there differences between professional associations and unions? How are they similar? Watch to learn more about how unions affect the economy.

Trade union
A trade union (British English / Australian English / New Zealand English / South African English / Caribbean English; also trades union), labour union (Canadian English), or labor union (American English) is an organization of workers who have come together to achieve common goals such as protecting the integrity of its trade, improving safety standards, achieving higher pay and benefits such as health care and retirement, increasing the number of employees an employer assigns to complete the work, and better working conditions. The trade union, through its leadership, bargains with the employer on behalf of union members (rank and file members) and negotiates labour contracts (collective bargaining) with employers. The most common purpose of these associations or unions is "maintaining or improving the conditions of their employment". This may include the negotiation of wages, work rules, complaint procedures, rules governing hiring, firing and promotion of workers, benefits, workplace safety and policies.

Do unions raise wages for workers as a whole? If not, can unions raise the wages of some workers? The answer is, well, it depends. Unions have the ability to restrict the supply of labor to a job, which can increase wages for some workers. However, unions can also lower wages. For example, work stoppages and strikes supported by unions can slow down economic growth, lowering real wages. ** Average health-care costs paid by teachers: 3%.
** Out of every new dollar set aside for public education in Illinois in the last 5 years, 71 cents goes to teacher retirement costs.
** Only 15% of fourth graders are proficient in reading.
** Only 56% of students who enter their freshman year of high school wind up graduating.

と自信を持って発信していける初期衝動、勢いを感じられました。どの楽曲でもツインボーカルの掛け合いが
ほんとにいい爆発力を生み出していて、個人的には３曲目のI Promiseが少し懐かしいエモ、スクリーモのような印象もあり、
それでいて新しいサウンドも入っており、90年代のエモ、スクリーモ好きとしてはグッときました。
ピアノとギターの高音の絡め方、パッと入ってくるストリングスなど、細かく練られていて気持ちいい。

Do unions raise wages for workers as a whole? If not, can unions raise the wages of some workers? The answer is, well, it depends. Unions have the ability to restrict the supply of labor to a job, which can increase wages for some workers. However, unions can also lower wages. For example, work stoppages and strikes supported by unions can slow down economic growth, lowering real wages. To illustrate this, we take a look at what happened to Great Britain’s economy during the 1970’s union strikes.
It’s important to note that unions are not just about wages — they can be helpful in protecting workers from arbitrary abuses and maintaining positive workplace relationships.
