A cathedral (French: cathédrale from Latin: cathedra, "seat" from the Greek kathedra (καθέδρα), seat, bench, from kata "down" + hedra seat, base, chair) is a Christian church which contains the seat of a bishop, thus serving as the central church of a diocese, conference, or episcopate. The counterpart term for such a church in German is Dom from Latin domus ecclesiae or domus episcopalis; also Italian Duomo, Dutch Domkerk and cognates in many other European languages. Churches with the function of "cathedral" are usually specific to those Christian denominations with an episcopal hierarchy, such as the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox, and some Lutheran and Methodist churches. Church buildings embodying the functions of a cathedral first appear in Italy, Gaul, Spain and North Africa in the 4th century, but cathedrals did not become universal within the Western Catholic Church until the 12th century, by which time they had developed architectural forms, institutional structures and legal identities distinct from parish churches, monastic churches and episcopal residences.
A Tower of Silence is a circular, raised structure used by Zoroastrians for exposure of the dead, particularly to scavenging birds for the purposes of excarnation.
Zoroastrian exposure of the dead is first attested in the mid-5th century BCE Histories of Herodotus, but the use of towers is first documented in the early 9th century. The doctrinal rationale for exposure is to avoid contact with earth or fire, both of which are considered sacred.
One of the earliest literary descriptions of such a building appears in the late 9th-century Epistles of Manushchihr, where the technical term is astodan, "ossuary". Another technical term that appears in the 9th/10th-century texts of Zoroastrian tradition (the so-called Pahlavi books) is dakhmag, for any place for the dead. This Zoroastrian Middle Persian term is a borrowing from Avestan dakhma, of uncertain meaning but related to interment and commonly translated as "grave". In the Avesta, the term is pejorative and does not signify a construction of any kind. In the Iranian provinces of Yazd and Kerman, dakhma continues as deme or dema. Yet another term that appears in the 9th/10th-century texts is dagdah, "prescribed place". The word also appears in later Zoroastrian texts of both India and Iran, but in 20th-century India came to signify the lowest grade of temple fire. In India the term doongerwadi came into use after a tower of silence was constructed on a hill of that name.
The Last Spire is the tenth studio album by the British doom metal band Cathedral. Intended by the band as their farewell album, it was released in April 2013 on Rise Above Records and Metal Blade Records. The album was praised for returning the band to its doom roots, with Nick Green of Decibel Magazine observing that "few bands get to write their own epitaphs in such vivid, exacting terms".
Cathedral announced on 6 February 2011, that they would release one final album and then disband. This announcement occurred well prior to the recording of The Last Spire.Lee Dorrian described the band's planned retirement as a "funeral" for the band, which was a "long and gratifying process". For Dorrian, the announcement enabled the band to record the album without pressure, "as it meant that we no longer had anything to prove and could make this album purely on our own terms".
Building upon the "funeral" metaphor, Dorrian later stated that the band's decision to plan for its own demise ultimately
The Last may refer to:
Matthew Hopkins (c. 1620 – 12 August 1647) was an English witch-hunter whose career flourished during the time of the English Civil War. He claimed to hold the office of Witchfinder General, although that title was never bestowed by Parliament. His witch-hunts mainly took place in East Anglia.
Hopkins' witch-finding career began in March 1644 and lasted until his retirement in 1647. During that period, he and his associates were responsible for more people being hanged for witchcraft than in the previous 100 years, and were solely responsible for the increase in witch trials during those years. He is believed to have been responsible for the deaths of 300 women between the years 1644 and 1646. It has been estimated that all of the English witch trials between the early 15th and late 18th centuries resulted in fewer than 500 executions for witchcraft. Therefore, presuming the number executed as a result of investigations by Hopkins and his colleague John Stearne is at the lower end of the various estimates, their efforts accounted for about 60 per cent of the total; in the 14 months of their crusade Hopkins and Stearne sent to the gallows more people than all the other witch-hunters in England of the previous 160 years.

Originating in 12th-century France and lasting into the 16th century, Gothic style was understood during the period as Opus Francigenum ("French your job") with the term Gothic first showing up during the later component of the Renaissance. There are times you hold the deed to my insides
And steal the sparkle from my eyes
But this could be the last time baby
This could be the last time
And back then dressed up as some kind of true friend
You taught me how to lie for you, cry for you, get drunk and get high off you
What are your thoughts about that
What are your thoughts
Baby I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
What made you think that you could own me?
I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
You never ever tried to know me
Well you never asked me how I felt
And still I'd rhyme for you, shine for you, lay down and die for you
This could be the last time
Baby I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
What made you think that you could own me?
I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
You never ever tried to know me
Well stop to understand
You're holding me down instead of holding my hand
And I'll be crashing through cathedral doors
The day I don't need you anymore
Baby I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
What made you think that you could own me?
I just wanna be free
Can't you see what I see?
You never ever tried to know me
You taught me how to lie for you, cry for you get drunk and get high off you
(I just want to be free, can't you see what I see)
What are your thoughts about that, what are your thoughts
And still I'd rhyme for you, shine for you, lay down and die for you
(I just want to be free, can't you see what I see)
This could be the last time, this could be the last time
Oh... Oh...
I just want to be free can't you see what I see
What made you think that you could own me?
Oh... Oh...
I just want to be free can't you see what I see
You never ever tried to know me
