Over three hundred hours of preparations results in the largest promotional & documentary film about Taiz city. The idea was born from Yemeni young minds who believed in playing a role of responsibility towards their city and their country. Almost two hundred people participated in this work starting from brainstorming ideas and all the way to all production stages. Helped in the implementation of this work some foreign technical experiences specialized in the media & production field.

Taiz
Taiz (Arabic: تعز Taʿizz) is a city in the Yemeni Highlands, near the famous Mocha port on the Red Sea, lying at an elevation of about 1,400 metres above sea level and Sabir Mountain that neighbors it rises the 3,006 metres above the city. It is the capital of Taiz Governorate. With a population of over 600,000 in 2005, it is the third largest city in Yemen after the capital Sana'a and the southern port of Aden. When Yemen was at peace, it was considered to be the cultural capital of Yemen.
During the 2011 Yemeni Revolution, a battle in Taiz between supporters and opponents of Ali Abdullah Saleh led to a rebel victory. As part of the 2015 Yemeni Civil War, the city is currently enduring an ongoing military confrontation between Houthis and the government forces of Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. The city is effectively under siege and the United Nations has warned of an "extreme and irreversible" food shortage if fighting continues.

Yemen (
i/ˈjɛmən/; Arabic: اليَمَن al-Yaman), officially known as the Republic of Yemen (الجمهورية اليمنية al-Jumhūrīyah al-Yamanīyah), is an Arab country in Western Asia, occupying the southwestern to the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. Yemen is the second largest country in the peninsula, occupying 527,970 km2 (203,850 sq mi). The coastline stretches for about 2,000 km (1,200 mi). It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north, the Red Sea to the west, the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea to the south, and Oman to the east. Although Yemen's constitutionally stated capital is the city of Sana'a, the city has been under rebel control since February 2015. Because of this, Yemen's capital has been temporarily relocated to the port city of Aden, on the southern coast. Yemen's territory includes more than 200 islands; the largest of these is Socotra.
Yemen was the home of the Sabaeans (biblical Sheba), a trading state that flourished for over a thousand years and probably also included parts of modern-day Ethiopia and Eritrea. In 275 AD, the region came under the rule of the later Jewish influenced Himyarite Kingdom. Christianity arrived in the 4th century AD whereas Judaism and local paganism were already established. Islam spread quickly in the 7th century and Yemenite troops were crucial in the expansion of the early Islamic conquests. Administration of Yemen has long been notoriously difficult. Several dynasties emerged from the 9th to 16th century, the Rasulid being the strongest and most prosperous. The country was divided between the Ottoman and British empires in the early 20th century. The Zaydi Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen was established after World War I in North Yemen before the creation of Yemen Arab Republic in 1962. South Yemen remained a British protectorate until 1967. The two Yemeni states united to form the modern republic of Yemen in 1990.

Battle of Taiz (2011)
The Battle of Taiz (2011) erupted during the 2011 Yemeni Revolution, between forces loyal to Yemeni leader Ali Abdullah Saleh and opposition protesters, backed by armed tribesmen and defecting soldiers in the city of Taiz.
The battle
Opposition demonstrators had occupied the main square in the city since the start of the uprising against the rule of president Saleh. The protests were for the most part peaceful. However, that changed on 29 May, when the military started an operation to crush the protests and clear the demonstrators from their camp at the square. Troops reportedly fired live ammunition and from water cannons on the protesters, burned their tents and bulldozers ran over some of them. The opposition described the event as a massacre.
Street clashes continued and by 31 May, the death toll among protesters reached between 28 and 64. On 31 May, about 100 women protesters had gathered in a central square, challenging security forces nearby to use force, which would represent a breach of social norms. But the women were soon dispersed by female police officers and women who support the president.

Taiz's anti-Houthi forces clashed with Houthi fighters on Thursday. The clashes, which took place on the western edge of the city, started after a group of Houthi fighters attempted to take control of the headquarters of the 35th brigade which is fighting alongside pro-government militia. The headquarters have been previously contested by the two groups. According to popular resistance fighters, who are allied with the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis across the country, the offensive was pushed back. Houthi militias and popular resistance militias have been fighting in and around the city of Taiz since the Houthis attempted to take control of the city last year. Yemen's conflict pits an internationally-recognized government backed by a Saudi-led coalition against the Shiite rebels, who captured the capital, Sanaa, in September 2014. Over three hundred hours of preparations results in the largest promotional & documentary film about Taiz city. The idea was born from Yemeni young minds who believed in playing a role of responsibility towards their city and their country. The Battle of Taiz is a military confrontation between opposing Yemeni forces in the city of Taiz for control of the 35th Armored Brigade base. The battle began one month after the start of the civil war.
Popular committees are armed groups established in Yemen, composed of members from various Yemeni tribes, for the purpose of assisting the Yemeni army during the Yemeni uprising and the late Yemeni civil war. In 2015 during the Yemeni civil war, the popular resistance committees are formed in some governorates of Yemen, which is witnessing the armed conflict.
The Yemeni Civil War is an ongoing conflict that began in 2015 between two factions claiming to constitute the Yemeni government, along with their supporters and allies. Houthi forces controlling the capital Sana'a and allied with forces loyal to the former president Ali Abdullah Saleh have clashed with forces loyal to the government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, based in Aden.

The clashes, which took place on the western edge of the city, started after a group of Houthi fighters attempted to take control of the headquarters of the 35th brigade which is fighting alongside pro-government militia.
The headquarters have been previously contested by the two groups.
According to popular resistance fighters, who are allied with the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis across the country, the offensive was pushed back.

Why Taiz should separate, even if it decides not to join South Yemen. Video describes Taiz business culture and values, desire for investment and building businesses and how it differs from Sanaa, Sanhan Saada ruling culture. Taiz fought two revolutions and yet its still impossible to bring foreign direct investment to the Taiz province as Houthis/Saleh/Ahmar steal it so investors leave, jobs are lost and provinces sinks deeper and deeper in poverty. Again, Sanaa may have a couple not yet assassinated opened minded intellectuals but these are not the people with either the guns, numbers or authority to make a difference.

Yemen is an Arab country in Western Asia at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula. Yemen is the second-largest country in the peninsula, occupying 527,970 km2(203,850 sq mi). It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the north, the Red Sea to the west, the Gulf of Adenand Arabian Sea to the south, and Oman to the east-northeast. Although Yemen's constitutionally stated capital is the city of Sana'a, the city has been under rebel control since February 2015. Because of this, Yemen's capital has been temporarily relocated to the port city of Aden, on the southern coast. Yemen's territory includes more than 200 islands; the largest of these is Socotra.
With its long sea border between eastern and western civilizations, Yemen has long existed at a crossroads of cultures with a strategic location in terms of trade on the west of the Arabian Peninsula. Large settlements for their era existed in the mountains of northern Yemen as early as 5000 BC.
Yemen was the home of the Sabaeans (biblical Sheba), a trading state that flourished for over a thousand years and also included parts of modern-day Ethiopia and Eritrea. In 275 AD, the region came under the rule of the later Jewish-influenced Himyarite Kingdom.[10] Christianity arrived in the fourth century, whereas Judaism and local paganism were already established. Islam spread quickly in the seventh century and Yemenite troops were crucial in the expansion of the early Islamic conquests.
Administration of Yemen has long been notoriously difficult. Several dynasties emerged from the ninth to 16th centuries, the Rasulid dynasty being the strongest and most prosperous. The country was divided between the Ottoman and British empires in the early twentieth century.
The Zaydi Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen was established after World War I in North Yemen before the creation of the Yemen Arab Republic in 1962. South Yemen remained a British protectorate known as the Aden Protectorate until 1967 when it became an independent state and later, a Marxist state. The two Yemeni states united to form the modern republic of Yemen in 1990.

Hurricane Irma which made landfall in Florida on Sunday as Category 4 storm with winds up to 130 mph (209 kmph) has come down to a Category 2 with winds of 105 mph (177 kmph).
