Sixth grade

Sixth grade (called Grade 6 in some regions) is a year of education in many nations, and usually the start of middle school (USA) and in other countries it is the last year of Primary level (Elementary). It is for students ages 11–13.

Africa

Senegal

In Senegal, it would correspond to 6ème Lycee. It is the first grade of the third cycle called Collège (French).

Morocco

In Morocco, it would correspond to the sixth and the last year of elementary school. It is the last year before middle school.

Asia

In Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran and India, sixth grade is called Class 6.

China

In China, 6th grade would be the last year of elementary school. The students would be 11 or 12 years old.

Malaysia

In Malaysia, the equivalent is Year 6 also known as Standard 6, as the Malaysia academic year starts in January, unlike in Europe, Canada, and the United States where it starts in August. Students will sit for an important exam called Ujian Pentaksiran Sekolah Rendah (UPSR), which translates from Malay into English as "Low/Elementary School Assessment Test".

Social media

Social media are computer-mediated tools that allow people or companies to create, share, or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities and networks. Social media is defined as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content." Furthermore, social media depend on mobile and web-based technologies to create highly interactive platforms through which individuals and communities share, co-create, discuss, and modify user-generated content. They introduce substantial and pervasive changes to communication between businesses, organizations, communities, and individuals. These changes are the focus of the emerging field of technoself studies. Social media differ from traditional or industrial media in many ways, including quality,reach, frequency, usability, immediacy, and permanence. Social media operate in a dialogic transmission system (many sources to many receivers). This is in contrast to traditional media that operates under a monologic transmission model (one source to many receivers).

It is a supplier of stock images for business and consumers with an archive of 80 million still images and illustrations and more than 50,000 hours of stock film footage. Getty has distribution offices around the world and capitalizes on the Internet and CD-ROM collections for distribution. As Getty has acquired other older photo agencies and archives, it has digitized their collections, enabling online distribution. Getty Images now operates a large commercial website which allows clients to search and browse for images, purchase usage rights and download images. Costs of images vary according to the chosen resolution and type of rights associated with each image. The company also offers custom photo services for corporate clients.
