Business services firm Tricor Chew has expanded its Australian presence across the East Coast of the country through a merger with Sydney-based firm Kreston Dormers.

The new firm, Tricor ChewandDormers, will have four offices across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney and 40 staff.

The combined firm will continue to provide non-audit accounting, compliance, legal, immigration, advisory and back office services, with a focus on Asian multinational corporations and family groups coming into Australia and Australian firms looking to go into Asia.

Managing director Kim Chew said the combined firm would be better able to take advantage of the inbound references from the Asian offices of Tricor, a part owner of the combined firm.

"Tricor is one of the few Asia-based multi-disciplinary firms that has expanded into over 30 global offices from Hong Kong. The strength lies in the fact that we are all subsidiaries acting as good regional partners and managed by a central management team which includes the leaders from each major country," Mr Chew said.

Kreston Dormers managing director Tony Dormer will become a director of Tricor ChewandDormers. Tricor was purchased by European private equity firm Permira in 2016 and views Australia as a key growth market for Tricor.
