And it says this, to my intelligence: I’ve been a lifetime in a cell trying to figure this problem out. Not trying, just automatically. I can’t sleep without thinking. I can’t live without something beating in my chest or functioning in my soul and my life that says this: There is only one way. There can be no dissension. There can be no division; there can be no question about it. What is must be to be what is. If life is going to be on this planet, it has to come in perfect order with the atmosphere it breathes. If it doesn’t have that, then there is nothing else. Everything must be sacrificed for one principle in one order, in one life, in one air, on one world, in one Earth, in one mind, that has nothing to do with human beings. Human beings are the problem. They’re the ones that are creating the decisions that are destroying the life on earth. And all life will be lost on Earth if you don’t deal with the human problem. _____________________________________________________________ July 18, 2014 45 Years Later, Defense Attorney in Manson Case Speaks Irving Kanarek was assigned as Charles Manson's attorney during the "Tate-LaBianca trial", after Manson's 6th Amendment Right of self-representation was violated. In a recent article by TheGuardian.com, Kanarek, now 94, claims that Manson was legally innocent, and actually innocent. He gives his take on Manson, the trial, and the debilitating media frenzy surrounding it all. “I would defend a client who I knew was guilty of horrific crimes. They have to be proved guilty. I've had cases where people were guilty as hell but they couldn't prove it. And if they can't prove it, he's not guilty. In that case, the person walks free. That's American justice. I got a reversal of Jimmy Lee's death sentence, and he had been accused of killing a police officer. That made me the victim of police non-objectivity. They pulled me over, gave me tickets undeservedly. It wasn't a difficult decision to take the Manson case. My purpose was to fight legally admissible evidence, and the amount of that was scant. His guilt was based on a few hearsay words, inadmissible in court, that he supposedly told this guy to do a number on the Tate residence. No question he was legally innocent. And, more than that, he was actually innocent. There was no evidence connecting him to those murders. The newspapers, the magazines, the motion pictures got people all excited – Manson as the embodiment of human evil. Charlie wasn't a monster. When you look at the legally admissible evidence, you come to a very different conclusion. Just looking at him from objective considerations, he's a personable person.”
“I've thought a lot about the case in terms of the legalities. I haven't dwelt much on the human tragedy of it. There's a lot of myth, for example that the baby was taken out of Tate's body. Not so. The wounds were not in the abdomen. The wounds were primarily in the breast area. I didn't spend much time [thinking about Tate and the other victims], because they were victims of disputes that Charlie had nothing to do with. I think his direct involvement has been woefully extrapolated. By the time I visited the house, the bodies were gone. The scene was what I'd call mechanical. Nothing about it was gruesome, per se. They'd marked where they were in chalk. So it isn't as overwhelming as some people may feel. None of it stayed with me. The tools of the courtroom make such scenes less than human. I didn't think about it emotionally. The victims are part of the case, but are not that tangible. I lost sleep on other cases, but not on this one. People ask me, have I ever felt in the presence of evil, I don't know how to respond to that. I don't dream or even think much about Charlie. I have regrets about every case where someone is killed or injured. Murder is unappetising. Some people have been inquiring if the article is true. Although the article is fake, it does reference true events and facts concerning the CA Dept. of Corrections (including “elderly parole”), and it brings up some points we’d like to address. -- Manson will be 80 years old this year (2014). -- He has been in prison for 45 years. In so-called civilized/advanced countries, this is unheard of. (In parts of Europe, the maximum sentence for murder is 26 years) -- CM has endured decades of torture, through long-term solitary confinement, and abuse by forced debilitating psychotropic “medication”. Now he must contend with substandard medical care, poor nutrition, unhealthy conditions of confinement, and continued discriminatory treatment at the hands of rogue staff members. In addition, he is denied his 1st Amendment rights of access to the public media, and is held against his will in a protective housing unit instead of general population. -- Manson has been convicted of masterminding 9 murders; convicted of first degree murder only through conspiracy laws. It has never been claimed by a court that Manson himself killed anyone. -- In California and elsewhere, people who have actually committed murder are being released regularly (“…data from 2012, shows that of 784 California inmates on parole after being sentenced to a life term for murder, only 5 percent returned to prison last year for parole violations.”) -- Manson is considered by the CDCR to be a “low risk” inmate, meaning that the inmate is highly unlikely to be a risk if released. According to the CDCR, low risk category is determined by age, amount of time incarcerated, and behavior while incarcerated. -- The only evidence used to convict Manson was purely circumstantial; presented by bribed witnesses, threatened witnesses, fabricated testimonies, and through suppression of exculpatory evidence. -- New developments in the “Manson cases”, previously overlooked or suppressed evidence, as well as updated witness statements, have constantly been ignored by the media and the courts. -- Manson was unduly denied his 6th amendment right of self-representation. -- Manson was never allowed a defense portion of the trial, after 8 months of prosecution, slander, and a pervasive world-wide media frenzy (which began well before the trial itself). -- The longer you hold Manson down under your ignorance, jealousy, lies, and cover-ups – the more you will have to pay.

His visiting privileges have been suspended for 90 days, followed by 90 days of only "no-contact" visits (behind glass for one hour). No other information on this episode is available at this time. John G and Mickens ("Irish") ________________________________________________________ December 10, 2013 Concerning Charles Manson: Letter from a member of the US Armed Forces As I have grown older, I have come to understand the media for what it really is…sensationalistic journalism designed to titillate it's viewers. A prime example is the Geraldo Rivera special "Murder: Live from Death Row" that aired on national television in 1988. It is available on YouTube, so I urge you to watch it. Then, compare the actual television program, specifically Geraldo interviewing Charles Manson, to his entire and unedited interview of Manson, which is also available on YouTube. You will see what I mean. Geraldo cuts and splices the interview so that Manson's words are taken out of context and used against him. Let me be clear about something….He is a criminal and has done some very bad things in his life. BUT being a petty criminal, and mastermind of the most heinous crime in U.S. history, are two very different things. I won't try to explain what I mean by that here, but I suggest doing your own research. The cards were completely stacked against him from birth, yet he has persevered. He is very unusual and definitely marches to the beat of a different drum. But I can assure you he is not the "Most Dangerous Man Alive" or the devil, re-incarnated. I know this because I have gotten to know him on a very personal level over the last four years. As a service member stationed in Afghanistan in 2009, I began writing to him because I wanted to see for myself what he was "really" like... not the typical news coverage designed to scare old ladies and increase network ratings. Through phone calls and letters, I have learned that he is nothing like what we have been led to believe over the last forty-four years. Besides what you THINK you might know about him, I can also tell you that he has a huge admiration and respect for the military. He befriended me and gave many thanks for what I do to serve our country. He cares about what is happening to the country and to the world. He has a positive message, if you will just listen. Being raised in institutions, he has spent most of his life in solitary confinement. That being said, his perception of reality is completely different from ours. You need to understand that from the onset. He doesn't speak in a language or dialect that we are used to hearing. He speaks almost entirely with figurative language to illustrate his points and most of us aren't used to that. He is wise beyond his years and also very intelligent. Open your ears and open your mind and you will be surprised at what you will hear. Charles Manson November 7, 2013 __________________________________________________________________ November 8, 2013 Report Unhealthy conditions of confinement: Living conditions in the PHU aggravate the health problems of inmates. The air is consistently polluted by concrete dust from the unpainted concrete block walls. There are also pervasive chemical fumes from floor strippers, pesticides and toxic cleaners. Dust and debris from the outside air is pumped in through dirty and neglected ventilation ducts. Despite numerous written requests and a doctor’s prescription, Manson is being denied clearance for an air purifier. Ignoring obvious nutritional deficiencies in the prison diet, doctors and medical staff routinely deny Manson’s requests for normal treatment options. Conflicting information has been presented to Manson by medical staff, and “No” is their safe and standard answer for common sense solutions.
Prison mailroom staff members are once again failing to process and deliver Manson’s mail in a fair and timely manner. Incoming mail for Charlie has come up missing, and the mail that he does receive is being delivered in bunches of six to ten letters, followed by a lapse of several or more days with no mail at all. Dozens of envelopes are marked with yellow “refusal slips”, meaning the mail has been kept from Manson for “internal rules violations”. There is no transparent over-sight of this punitive process. Portions of Charlie’s outgoing mail are also being stolen or destroyed, and the entire mail stream is so slow that it often takes 30 days or more for mail going either way to be delivered. Inmates in other units of the prison also report that their mail stream is marred by severe slowdowns and missing mail. ____________________________________________________
