Northwest or northwestern Ohio consists of multiple counties in the northwestern corner of the United States state of Ohio. This area borders Lake Erie, southern Michigan, and eastern Indiana. Some areas in northwestern Ohio are also considered the Black Swamp area. The Toledo metropolitan area is also part of the region. Just like any other region, there is no universally agreed-upon boundary for northwestern Ohio, as the entire area is defined differently by the opinions of multiple people.
The area's population in the year 2000 was 1,639,144. The area is declining in population, specifically in the northern regions (counties shaded in the darker blue and Allen County). Southern areas such as Marion and Morrow counties as well as the city of Findlay are growing.
These places are or may be classified as being in northwestern Ohio, depending on the definition being applied:
If a city is a county seat, it has been listed above according to the county in which it lies. Many of the cities, townships, and villages in northwest Ohio are clustered in the Toledo MSA. This list is incomplete.
Ohio i/oʊˈhaɪ.oʊ/ is a state in the midwestern region of the United States. Ohio is the 34th largest by area, the 7th most populous, and the 10th most densely populated of the 50 United States. The state's capital and largest city is Columbus.
The state takes its name from the Ohio River. The name originated from the Iroquois word ohi-yo’, meaning "great river" or "large creek." Partitioned from the Northwest Territory, the state was admitted to the Union as the 17th state (and the first under the Northwest Ordinance) on March 1, 1803. Ohio is historically known as the "Buckeye State" (relating to the Ohio buckeye tree, and Ohioans are also known as "Buckeyes."
The government of Ohio is composed of the executive branch, led by the Governor; the legislative branch, which comprises the Ohio General Assembly; and the judicial branch, which is led by the state Supreme Court. Ohio occupies 16 seats in the United States House of Representatives. Ohio is known for its status as both a swing state and a bellwether in national elections. Six Presidents of the United States have been elected who had Ohio as their home state.
The four cardinal directions or cardinal points are the directions of north, east, south, and west, commonly denoted by their initials: N, E, S, W. East and west are at right angles to north and south, with east being in the clockwise direction of rotation from north and west being directly opposite east. Intermediate points between the four cardinal directions form the points of the compass. The intermediate (intercardinal, or ordinal) directions are northeast (NE), southeast (SE), southwest (SW), and northwest (NW). Further, the intermediate direction of every set of intercardinal and cardinal direction is called a secondary-intercardinal direction, the eight shortest points in the compass rose to the right, i.e. NNE, ENE, ESE, and so on.
To keep to a bearing is not, in general, the same as going in a straight direction along a great circle. Conversely, one can keep to a great circle and the bearing may change. Thus the bearing of a straight path crossing the North Pole changes abruptly at the Pole from North to South. When travelling East or West, it is only on the Equator that one can keep East or West and be going straight (without need to steer). Anywhere else, maintaining latitude requires a change in direction, requires steering. However, this change in direction becomes increasingly negligible as one moves to lower latitudes.

Set to HD. This is the first of a video series called "Bad Drivers Of Northwest Ohio" filmed December 2013-January 2014. I bought a K6000 model dash cam to record my drive and any events that happen. These dash cams are widely used in Russia due to insurance scams and other things. They are really only used by emergency vehicles and truckers here in North America. I bought this for only $36 and the only extra thing I had to buy was the micro-SD card. I decided to document bad drivers around where I live (Northwest Ohio) but, I plan to expand using videos from trips elsewhere. Well, here is the first of many videos to come from this series. Video is property of Matchboxtruckman163
Once again, I make the drive to Van Buren Ohio, where this long abandoned gas station sits right on the corner of Interstate 75 and State Route 613. No information could be found online as to why or when this gas station closed, but I believe it to be a long time ago. Seeing the vehicles left behind and the lobby of the station frozen in time is really something else. Also, as more and more locations like this are being bought out and bulldozed, it means even more to me to be able to preserve them, even in ruined state, so something can continue to remain of what was once there. Thanks for watching!

On 12/26/14, Jan Blackgrove, my Grandmother and favorite railfan partner, passed away from this earth to be in heaven above. The first scene was recorded three years ago at Bryan, Ohio. In it, my Grandmother, the woman in red, waves at a passing Norfolk Southern train with her good friend Lois. Throughout middle school and high school, my Grandmother and I developed a close relationship through train watching, so much so that I would consider her my best friend. On the day of her death, in order to cope, I spent time doing the thing we both loved to do: train watching. In this video, you’ll see some amazing trains and locomotives, filmed on a clear and sunny day, made possible only by God himself. It was if He had blessed the day of her homecoming with a multitude of great trains. Like u...

Well it took me long enough to upload the video but here it is! This is my second time railfanning in Northwest Ohio. The last time was in Fostoria, OH w/ CIMRailVideos in May 2014 and it was amazing. This weekend was just as good. Overall I saw over 50 trains in two days at Deshler, OH and Wauseon, OH, a few trains are not shown in this video. On June 30, 2016 my Dad and I headed down to Deshler, OH where the CSX Garrett/Willard and Toledo Subdivisions cross each other creating the diamond well known as Crossroads Park. Both lines are extremely busy however on this day the Garrett/Willard Subdivision saw the majority of the trains with the Toledo Subdivision only seeing 6 trains. Overall I saw a total of 27 trains at Crossroads Park, 23 of which are in this video. The highlights from the...
