Minerva

Minerva (/mɪˈnɜːr.və/; Latin: [mɪˈnɛr.wa]; Etruscan: Menrva) was the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of arts, trade, and strategy. She was born with weapons from the head of Jupiter. After impregnating the titaness Metis, Jupiter recalled a prophecy that his own child would overthrow him. Fearing that their child would grow stronger than him and rule the Heavens in his place, Jupiter swallowed Metis whole. The titaness forged weapons and armor for her child while within the father-god, and the constant pounding and ringing gave him a headache. To relieve the pain, Vulcan used a hammer to split Jupiter's head and, from the cleft, Minerva emerged, whole, adult, and bearing her mother's weapons and armor. From the 2nd century BC onwards, the Romans equated her with the Greek goddess Athena. She was the virgin goddess of music, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, weaving, crafts, and magic. She is often depicted with her sacred creature, an owl usually named as the "owl of Minerva", which symbolised her association with wisdom and knowledge.

GMA Network

GMA Network (Global Media Arts or simply GMA) is a major commercial television and radio network in the Philippines. GMA Network is owned by GMA Network Inc. a publicly listed company. Its first broadcast on television was on October 29, 1961, GMA Network (formerly known as DZBB TV Channel 7, RBS TV Channel 7, GMA Radio-Television Arts then GMA Rainbow Satellite Network) is commonly signified to as the "Kapuso Network" in reference to the outline of the company’s logo. It has also been called the “Christian Network” which refers to the apparent programming during the tenure of the new management, which took over in 1974. It is headquartered in the GMA Network Center in Quezon City and its transmitter is located at Tandang Sora Avenue, Barangay Culiat also in Quezon City.

The original meaning of the GMA acronym was Greater Manila Area, referring to the initial coverage area of the station. As the network expanded it changed into Global Media Arts. At present the corporate name is simply GMA Network Inc.

Helen Gamboa

Helen Albent Gamboa-Sotto (born May 7, 1945) is a veteran Filipina actress, singer, dancer and former beauty queen.

Background

Helen Albent Gamboa was born at 6:35 PM on May 7, 1945 at Maternity and Children's Hospital (now known as Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital) in Santa Cruz, Manila to Domingo Ponce Gamboa (October 13, 1908 in Santa Ana, Pampanga - June 12, 1987) and Eusebia Pangilinan Albent (November 28, 1914 in Angeles, Pampanga - January 21, 1986).

Gamboa is the wife of actor-comedian/TV host/politician-senator Tito Sotto and the mother of actress/singer Ciara Sotto and actor/singer Gian Sotto.

She's also the aunt of singer/actress/TV host Sharon Cuneta. Sharon's mother Elaine Cuneta is her sister. She is of Spanish-American descent.

She has been a runner-up to Cynthia Ugalde by a point in Miss Press Photography of the Philippines in 1961.

In the late '60s, Helen has been called as the "Dancing Queen" in film and TV musical shows, prior to the ever-popular song of Abba; eight years before the Swedish rock band's song has been known, between 1968 and 1976.

Jackie Lou Blanco

Jacqueline Lourdes Blanco-Davao (born February 11, 1964) is a Filipina actress and aerobic instructor of Spanish Filipino descent. During the 1980s and the 1990s, she appeared in comedy, drama and romance films including Hihintayin Kita sa Langit, (1991), Si Aida, Si Lorna, o Si Fe, (1989) Misis mo, Misis ko, (1988) and Palabra de honor (1983).

Blanco is the daughter of famous Filipino Music composer and actress Pilita Corrales. She has a half-brother named Ramon Christopher Gutierrez. She is married to Philippine actor Ricky Davao. They have three children.

Blanco co-hosted Student Canteen midday talkshow in the 1980s in GMA's channel 7. She also appeared in Walang Tulugan, a midnight musical program hosted by German Moreno.

In June 2007, she enrolled in the Associate of Arts program of the University of the Philippines, Open University. Blanco writes a column in The Philippine Star newspaper.

She is also well known for playing Antagonistic roles in many television dramas on GMA-7 telenovelas and series

Kevin Santos is a Filipino actor and was discovered in the Philippine over-all talent competition, StarStruck.

Starstruck

Kevin Santos was included in the Final 14 of StarStruck wherein Ryza Cenon and Mike Tan won as the Ultimate Survivors. He was eliminated contestant that was followed by the Bb. Pilipinas 2007 contestant Ailyn Luna.

Post StarStruck

Santos was included in Ako si Kim Samsoon with Regine Velasquez and Jennica Garcia. He appeared in the sitcom Show Me Da Manny with Manny Pacquiao and Marian Rivera. He played the main villain Rocky in his fourth Sine Novela, Basahang Ginto, opposite Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann.
