Uzair

Uzayr - most often identified with the Judeo-Christian Ezra (عزير, 'Uzair) - is a figure mentioned in the Qur'an, in the verse 9:30, which states that he was revered by the Jews as "the son of God". Jews do not agree on that statement. Historically, Muslim scholars have interpreted this verse as referring to a small group of Jews making such a reverence.

Ezra lived between the times of King Solomon and the time of Zachariah, father of John the Baptist. Although not explicitly mentioned in the Quran among the prophets, Ezra is considered as one by some Muslim scholars, based on Islamic traditions. On the other hand, Muslim scholars such as Mutahhar al-Maqdisi and Djuwayni and notably Ibn Hazm and al-Samaw'al accused Ezra (or one of his disciples) of falsification of the Torah. Several sources state that the Qur'an refers to Jews who began to call Ezra a "son of God" due to his religious achievements.

Gordon Darnell Newby states it may due to misunderstanding of Ezra's position in the Jewish faith as a Bene Elohim. Other Western scholars, relying on exegetical material from Ibn Abbas and Ibn Qutaybah, consider Uzair not to be Ezra but Azariah, mentioned in the Book of Daniel as Abednego.

Uzair Jaswal

Uzair Jaswal is a Pakistani singer, music composer and actor. He has composed and sung some songs which are popular in Pakistan. He made his Bollywood debut with the song Tere Bin from the movie Ek Paheli Leela.

Personal life

Uzair was born to a Muslim family in USA. Famous all over as Jaswal brothers the family has a history of talented stars. Later he and his family moved to Pakistan and permanently settled in Islamabad and Lahore. His brother Yasir Jaswal is Pakistani singer, lyricist and director.

Career

From the childhood days Uzair had dream of becoming a singer. He started his career at the age of 19. He also performed in Coke Studio which was biggest dream of his life. He made a very firm position in a very short duration. Some of his popular songs are "Tere Bin", "Jaanvey", "Bolay", "Yaheen" etc. His Coke Studio hit is "Nindiya Ke Par". His songs are loved by his fans. He has worked in 3 movies also Gol Chakkar, Slackistan and Jalaibee.

Entry in Bollywood

Jaswal made his Bollywood debut in the film Ek Paheli Leela which was released on 10 April 2015. He sung the song titled "Tere Bin Nahi Laage", which was a recreated version of his own song. The song was recreated by Amaal Mallik with a few lyrics by Kumaar for the film.
