The New 'AHS: Cult' Episode Was Edited to Be Less Violent After the Las Vegas Shooting

6 hours ago | POPSUGAR | See recent BuzzSugar news »

The sixth episode of American Horror Story: Cult, set to air on Oct. 10, was originally going to open and close with a graphic depiction of a mass shooting at a political rally. In the wake of the horrific Sept. 30 shooting in Las Vegas, which left 59 people dead and over 500 injured, many wondered if creator Ryan Murphy would delay showing the episode. The episode, "Mid-Western Assassin," will go on as scheduled, but that doesn't mean Murphy left it as is. While speaking at the New Yorker Fest over the weekend, Murphy revealed he and the rest of the Ahs team decided to re-edit the episode - which was filmed well before the Las Vegas shooting - to make it less violent. Now, the show's mass shooting, which Murphy described as "an obvious anti-gun warning about society," will happen off-camera instead. "Should you air it? Should you not air it? »

‘Episodes’ Series Finale: Creators on Ending the Matt LeBlanc Comedy with a Heartfelt Meta Twist

20 hours ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

It’s official: There are no more “Episodes.”

David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik’s award-winning Showtime comedy came to a close Sunday night, and as sad as it is to say goodbye, the brilliantly meta Hollywood satire delivered an ideal ending. Both surprising and fitting, the final moments of “Episodes” came together in a way that felt inevitable only after it happened.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for the “Episodes” Season 5 finale — the series finale — Episode 7, “Episode Seven.”]

After confronting Matt (Matt LeBlanc) over why he passed on the script they created together (kind of), Beverly (Tamsin Greig) and Sean (Stephen Mangan) came to terms with the cold hard truth: Their latest pilot wasn’t very good. So, in a burst of inspiration, Sean wrote a new pilot that everyone loved, including Matt. The three patched up their thorny fallout and committed to the new project, which turned out to be… »

Who Is Lorne Michaels? There are people who will not have heard of Lorne Michaels, but chances are good that they don’t watch a great

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Boss Promises You Will Never Expect Where Season 9 Ends Up

20 hours ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

After two episodes, the long-awaited ninth season of Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is finally start to shape its ultimate narrative. Little dignities, big hijinks, and Palestinian chicken aside, the HBO series lives and dies by the strength of its overall arc, a backbone that’s helped deliver such classic storylines as “that time Larry did Broadway” and “hey, Richard Lewis is dying.” This year, it’s all about the fatwa. And the “Fatwa!”

“Once we landed on the arc for the season, once we realized that we were going to do him writing a musical called ‘Fatwa!’ and then getting a fatwa for writing ‘Fatwa!,’ I saw where that should take the season,” producer and directer Jeff Schaffer recently told IndieWire. »

Five Things You Didn’t Know about Willie Garson

Willie Garson is the kind of guy that usually plays the sidekick or the friend that likes to store and retrieve bits of knowledge and wisdom when it’s either really needed or the main character really doesn’t want it. He can also be the very sarcastic little guy that you don’t really want to deal with but know you’ll have to if you want to get the kind of information you need. In short he’s the support, the costar, the guy in the background you don’t think much of until you really need him. That’s okay though, this has still

Studio Ghibli Cartoon Characters Edited Into Real World Settings

Ghibli cartoon characters are creepy unless you’re used to them. I get the feeling that a good part of the world feels the same about American cartoons, even if they’re set into real world settings like this. Maybe it’s the fact that I am in fact biased and am not a fan of Japanese animation, but something about these characters gives me the creeps. I get the idea that some of them are supposed to be uplifting and actually pretty cute, but all in all they are a little on the nutty side in my opinion. But to each their

‘The Deuce’: James Franco’s Good Time Twins Tell a Tragic Story of What Happens When Men Stay Silent

1 hour ago | Indiewire Television | See recent Indiewire Television news »

After the latest episode of “The Deuce,” it’s hard to argue against Maggie Gyllenhaal as the cast Mvp.

Playing Eileen “Candy” Merrell, a prostitute working without a pimp on the dark streets of ’70s Manhattan, Gyllenhaal is going through the ringer. Her character’s emotional spectrum is so wide, it would be miraculous if Gyllenhaal could convey half of what Eileen goes through, let alone the full wavelength seen in Episode 5.

In “What Kind of Bad?”, Eileen transitions from laughing at her date’s post-coital questions to pressing her battered face into a wall and weeping as a pimp reminds her of how often she’s been abused. Later, as Eileen puts on makeup to try to hide the bruises, she listens to a voicemail from her date, asking if she’ll be able to make a party that weekend. Gyllenhaal only flinches from the physical pain of her »

This is a young person’s car, plain and simple. Or it could be a very eccentric Jurassic Park fan’s car, but I can almost guarantee a lot of other folks would not take a second look at this thing.
