    Shreveport Times: We’ve been at war in Afghanistan since 2001 and Iraq since 2003. We’ve been killing people in those countries longer than any wars in American history with no end in sight. None of the countries we’ve destroyed attacked us. The people and government of Afghanistan were not connected with 9-11. President George W.     The Daily Caller: Some widows of Afghan National Security Force members killed in action were forced to perform sexual favors for officials before they could obtain pension benefits, U.S. Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) John Sopko said Thursday.     10-year-old girl gang raped by six men, then beheaded in Afghan province
    Khaama Press (Translated by RAWA): Reports from Herat and Helmand provinces state that two young girls were mercilessly killed in these provinces. Local officials in Helmand province stated that six men gang raped a 10-year-old girl and then beheaded her. Omar Zwak, the governor’s spokesperson, said that two men were caught by the locals and they were trying to capture the rest.      Full news...

    Number Of IDPs Fleeing Conflict On The Rise
    TOLOnews.com: Humanitarian Response on Monday issued the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) weekly report and stated that between 1 January and 31 August this year, 223,874 people fled their homes due to conflict in Afghanistan – an 11,000 increase against the same period last year. The report stated that the provinces sheltering the highest number of displaced people are Kunduz with 28,261 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Nangarhar with 27,401 IDPs and Uruzgan with 17,062.      Full news...

    Two Killed In Bombing On Wedding Ceremony In Qarabagh
    TOLOnews.com: In the foreign troop’s air strike in Kabul’s Qarabgh district on Monday night two people were killed and three others wounded, local officials confirmed. Qarabagh’s district governor, Abdul Sami Sharifi, told TOLOnews that the incident happened in Jarji village of the district when guests at a wedding ceremony fired into the air in celebration.     At Least 11 Afghan Civilians Killed in American Airstrikes
    The New York Times: At least 11 civilians were killed Wednesday in American airstrikes in southeastern Afghanistan, witnesses and officials said, the second deadly allied strike in three days to add to the country’s mounting civilian death toll.     Thirteen civilians killed in air strike on Taliban in Afghanistan?s Herat
    1TV: Thirteen civilians were killed in an air strike against the Taliban in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat, local officials said Tuesday. The strike happened on Monday evening in on a key Taliban base in Bakht Abad village of Shindand district.     Suicide bomber kills five at bank in Afghan capital
    Reuters: A suicide bomber blew himself up at a bank close to the heavily protected U.S. embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, killing at least five people and wounding eight, the interior ministry said. The bomber hit the entrance to a Kabul Bank branch in the well-off area of Kabul, close to the main diplomatic quarter, ministry spokesman Najib Danish said.     Al Jazeera: A suicide bombing followed by gunfire as Shia Muslims gathered for Friday prayers at a mosque in Kabul killed at least 28 people, with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group claiming responsibility.     BBC Persian (Translated by RAWA): Local officials in north-eastern Badakhshan province have reported that a man and a woman had been killed by the Taliban for having “illicit relations” in Daraym district of the province.     Five Children In One Family Murdered In Kabul
    TOLOnews.com: Five children were murdered in PD10’s Wazir Abad area of Kabul city on Sunday. The five children were all between the ages of four and 16 years old. The children reportedly died from axe wounds. Their bodies were then set alight, police said.
