A photographer in Alaska woke up to strange noises at his door and worried his home was being broken into, only to find seven cute lynx kittens and their mother playing on his front porch. Tim Newton came across the lynx family when he heard scratching at his door. Initially he was worried that someone was attempting to break in, but because he lives in Alaska he said he also realized the intruder might be a dangerous animal - such as a bear. After unsuccessfully attempting to figure out what the noise might be from afar, he gathered the courage to creep over to the front door and peek out the window, where he saw the lynx family playing.

A man carrying a butcher's knife and shouting 'Allahu Akbar' killed two female passengers before being shot dead by soldiers at Marseille's train station in southern France. The attack at Marseille's busiest train station took place early this afternoon, as scores of armed police officers and soldiers swarmed the area. Both victims were women, with one left with a 'sliced neck'. The other was stabbed in the stomach. The prosecutor's office in Paris said in a statement the probe would focus on 'killings linked to a terrorist organisation' and the 'attempted killing of a public official', two terror-related charges. Early pictures from the scene showed a woman lying on the ground and armed police standing over the attacker on the floor. A white sheet was later placed over the assailant. A police source said the stabbings were 'frenzied and took place in front of lots of witnesses. The man first shouted threats, and then launched into the two women.'

The shocking moment a suspected terrorist with an Islamic State group flag mowed down a Canadian police officer in a car before getting out to stab him several times was caught on surveillance camera. Canadian police said early Sunday that an attack on an officer outside a football game and a high-speed chase of a U-Haul that left four people injured in the Western city of Edmonton, Alberta, are being investigated as acts of terrorism. Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said that officers have one person in custody and think he acted alone, but are not ruling out that others may be involved. At least four people have been injured; their conditions are unknown at this time.

CNN anchor Don Lemon stepped out on Saturday night holding hands with his rumored boyfriend. The 51-year-old veteran journalist attended the star-studded Saturday Night Live after party at Tao Restaurant and Night Club in New York City. It appears as though Lemon has been dating Tim Malone since at least April, according to a number of photos posted to social media. This is the first time they have been spotted in public together. Lemon only revealed he was gay in 2011 and has been linked to just one other boyfriend in that time. The pair kept it casual for the Saturday night party that Beyonce, Jay Z, Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johannson and more all attended.

Prince Harry has been caught on camera kissing girlfriend Meghan Markle on the lips for the first time at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games. The act is the biggest display of affection shared between the royal and the actress yet. The 36-year-old actress arrived with her best friend, Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney, wearing a white coat over a black outfit and the two women took their places in the discreet box to the side of the stage. Meghan's closest male friend, Markus Anderson, who introduced her to Harry last year, was by her side. Miss Markle - who was wearing a $68 pair of Everlane jeans, a $178 Badgley Mischka jacket and Jimmy Choo shoes - was also accompanied by her mother, Doria Ragland, a therapist and yoga teacher from LA. The fact that her mother had flown in from the US to spend time with her daughter and Harry emphasizes the seriousness of the romance.

The right-wing troll jetted out to Hawaii to marry his long-term boyfriend, named only as John, whose identity Milo has gone to some lengths to hide. Milo shared a photo of him and his partner - who is facing away from the camera - appearing to say their vows underneath a tree. On the back of his new husband's white tuxedo, were the words 'blind for love.' In another where the grooms are both pouring champagne into a tower of glasses. John's face is barely visible in the second photo where he's been all but cropped out.

Michael Kent, 38, has had his swastika tattoos removed after befriending his black probation officer Tiffany Whittier. He had been involved in a violent white supremacist group in Arizona for 20 years. During that time he got two swastika tattoos on his chest and the white supremacist motto 'white pride' inked on his back.

Shelby Floyd-Berrios, 26, ran towards gunfire outside the Publix grocery store in Orange Park, Florida on Tuesday after a US Customs and Border Protection officer was shot multiple times. The uniformed officer was targeted by 18-year-old Thomas Jacob Lewis IV for being a law enforcement official. The expectant mother, who had been working at a hair salon in the same complex at the time, said she had no idea where the shooter was or where he was firing from when she ran to the aid of the officer.

Retired Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré, credited for getting the relief efforts on track in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, mocked President Trump's criticism of San Juan's mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz. 'The mayor's living on a cot and I hope the President has a good day at golf,' Honoré said Saturday on CNN.

Former American football star and double murder suspect OJ Simpson has been freed on parole (pictured today, left) after nine years in prison for an armed robbery in Las Vegas. Simpson, now 70, spent nine years behind bars for a 2007 armed confrontation with two sports memorabilia traders in a Las Vegas hotel room. He was sentenced to up to 33 years, but won parole in July due to good behavior and other credits earned in custody. Simpson was acquitted in 1995 of murder charges in the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, 35, and her friend Ronald Goldman, 25, in what was arguably the most highly publicized murder trial in recent history.

These Alabama women have a fondness for big trucks, guns and hunting - and they are now about to become reality television stars. The eight women have been chosen to star in the new reality television show Redneck Housewives of Alabama. The show is set to feature a retired Dolly Parton impersonator and beauty pageant winner, a country singer and a long-distance truck driver. Redneck Housewives of Alabama was created by local Huntsville company Helen Evans LLC and auditions were held earlier in the year. It isn't yet clear if the reality series will be picked up by a major network but the eight chosen women have already started filming the show.

A funny video shows a man trying to get his dog Ellie, and Irish Setter mixed with a Golden Retriever, to move after she becomes mesmerized by a cat. It is unknown where the video was filmed but the man's accent is American.

Heather Piper was at the Century 16 Belmar theater, in Lakewood, Colorado, with friends on Tuesday when she says their movie experience was ruined by a group of teens was allegedly 'acting out of control.' 'They were crawling over seats and yelling,' Piper said. Piper said she repeatedly asked the teens to be quiet before yelling at them to 'shush', but the group ignored her pleas. Eventually, another movie goer got security and the teens finally began behaving themselves. But when it came time to leave, Piper said the youths were waiting for her.

The 78-year-old structure was blown up at 8am to make way for the expansion of a new bridge over Newtown Creek, New York. A surfer's wife is asking beach-goers for help after her husband lost his prosthetic eye while surfing in Florida earlier this week. Raymond Davidson was enjoying a fun-filled Thursday riding waves at Dayton Beach when he wiped after gliding on some especially choppy water. 'These things are expensive so if someone finds it can you please message me. Thank you!,' Carolyn Pandolfi wrote to Facebook.
