Defiant NFL players continue to kneel for national anthem

Pictured: Moment Marilyn Manson wheeled on a stretcher

UPDATED Marilyn Manson is 'recovering well' in a New York hospital after a huge pistol-shaped stage prop fell onto him while performing at a concert Saturday night. The 48-year-old was photographed on a stretcher and appeared to be in pain before being put into an ambulance after the shocking incident happened while he was singing Sweet Dreams at the Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom. He had just begun climbing on to the props in the middle of his performance when they began to give way and 'toppled' on top of him, witnesses said. Several people rushed on to the stage but it took a number of minutes before Manson was rescued. A spokesman for Manson confirmed the singer was hurt and was being treated at a local hospital. Tyler Bates, his bandmate and producer, said in an Instagram post on Sunday that 'Manson will be back in action soon.'

Initially he was worried that someone was attempting to break in, but because he lives in Alaska he said he also realized the intruder might be a dangerous animal - such as a bear. After unsuccessfully attempting to figure out what the noise might be from afar, he gathered the courage to creep over to the front door and peek out the window, where he saw the lynx family playing.

Early pictures from the scene showed a woman lying on the ground and armed police standing over the attacker on the floor. A white sheet was later placed over the assailant. A police source said the stabbings were 'frenzied and took place in front of lots of witnesses. The man first shouted threats, and then launched into the two women.'
