Justin Comments: I was inspired to send this in by “The Berkley Showcase” last week. I think the covers on John Silbersack’s sci-fi books has been sadly underrepresented on your site.

Note to publishers:
“Based On An Outline By…” is the lamest sales pitch in the known Universe — easily beating “This Author Is Only A Teenager” and “First Publication Anywhere” to the top spot.
Why not just say: “We couldn’t pay Big Name Author enough to turn the outline into a whole book”?

“Rogers Rangers” – does he, now?

I’m all for supporting the differently-abled, but I think this fellow with no feet needs more support when his firearm recoils.

Hey Tag Wizard, I see a trio of ridiculous hats here.
Is that a hat trick of hats?
September 18th, 2017 at 12:48 pm
No Vultan. Why is Buck Rogers wearing riding breeches?
September 18th, 2017 at 1:36 pm
@Bibliomancer—not only is his ridiculous hat equipped with a doorknob on top, but it seems his reflective visor is fixed over his forehead. To protect his frontal lobes from gamma ray bursts, perhaps?

Does the “R” on his belt buckle stand for Roger, Ranger or Randy?

Rogers looks his chronological age. Modelled on Clint Eastwood? Or Jack Palance.

Who Framed Rogers Rangers?
September 18th, 2017 at 3:37 pm
So, I guess the uniform for these rangers is a white hat with a knob on top and white gloves with flared cuffs?
I also assume that this is a galaxy where women usually only wear bathing suits – or less. There are a lot of places like that on this website.

It sounds like an 80s Saturday morning cartoon, with tricky lyrics because of the possessive apostrophe on a name ending with S.
I wonder if the theme would be as good as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IqznlB1GhI

By his exploding balls of fire.

@Tat: just put the name in the refrain, make it rhyme with itself:
Rogers’ Rangers!
Dressed in only pastel hue
Rogers’ Rangers!
Whoever you are, we’ll explode YOU!
September 18th, 2017 at 5:19 pm
@Tat Wood—I’ve been musing on “Rogers’s Rangers” since I saw this cover this morning. “Rogers’s” is pronounced with three syllables, of course; “babes’s” with two.
Rogers’s Rangers be headed for danger
but babes’s swim suits make everything cute.

@B.Chiclitz: I saw that and in my head it came out with the tune of the ‘My Little Pony’ adverts.

@Tat W—oh, that will work, that will work! Just to make sure I watched a video of the song. As soon as I stop going blind and deaf, I will write another post.

So this is the sequel to “Mordred”, which we saw here?
http://www.goodshowsir.co.uk/?p=12701
The sequel to the sequel based on the outline based on the novel!
I swear the smaller ‘splosion up left is one of their hats being used as target practice by someone not appearing in this art.
Buck’s rifle use is just wrong. As are his jodhpurs.
Another entry in the “Feet Are Hard To Draw” sweepstakes.

@GSSxn—
I am baffled by the curtain tassels on the damsel’s bikini.
–a modicum of modesty?
–extra support for the holster belt?
I am more baffled by those shoes, particularly trying to figure out where the left one actually is.
