Joseph Thomas "Joe" Morton, Jr. (born October 18, 1947) is an American stage, television, and film actor. He worked with film director John Sayles in The Brother from Another Planet (1984), City of Hope (1991) and Lone Star (1996). Other films he appeared in include Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Of Mice and Men (1992), Speed (1994), Apt Pupil (1998), What Lies Beneath (2000), Ali (2001), Paycheck (2003), Stealth (2005) and American Gangster (2007). In 2014, Morton won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Rowan Pope, Olivia Pope's father, in Scandal, and is known for playing the role of Henry Deacon on the popular TV series Eureka.
Morton was born in Harlem, New York, the son of Evelyn, a secretary, and Joseph Thomas Morton, Sr., a U.S. Army intelligence officer. Because of his father's military service, he spent parts of his childhood in West Germany and Okinawa. He graduated from Hofstra University.
Morton made his Broadway debut in Hair, appeared in Salvation, and was nominated for a Tony Award for Raisin. He has appeared in over 70 movies, including John Sayles' The Brother from Another Planet (as The Brother), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (as Dr. Miles Bennett Dyson) and Blues Brothers 2000 (as 'Cabel "Cab" Chamberlain', based upon the late Cab Calloway).

The Daily Show (also known as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart from 1999 until 2015, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah as of 2015) is an American late-night talk and news satire television program, which airs each Monday through Thursday on Comedy Central and, in Canada, The Comedy Network.
The half-hour-long show premiered on July 21, 1996, and was hosted by Craig Kilborn until December 17, 1998. Jon Stewart then took over as the host from January 11, 1999 until August 6, 2015, making the show more strongly focused on politics and the national media, in contrast with the pop culture focus during Kilborn's tenure. Stewart was succeeded by Trevor Noah, whose tenure premiered on September 28, 2015. The Daily Show is the longest-running program on Comedy Central (counting all three tenures), and has won 22 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Describing itself as a fake news program, The Daily Show draws its comedy and satire from recent news stories, political figures, media organizations, and often aspects of the show itself. During Stewart's tenure, the show typically opened with a long monologue, relating to recent headlines and frequently featured exchanges with one or more of several correspondents, who adopted absurd or humorously exaggerated takes on current events against Stewart's straight man persona. The final segment was devoted to a celebrity interview, with guests ranging from actors and musicians to nonfiction authors and political figures.

Plot: In this adaptation of Graham Greene's prophetic novel about U.S. foreign policy failure in pre-war Indochina, Audie Murphy plays an innocent Young American opposite the older, cynical Brit Michael Redgrave. They play out their widely different views on the prospects struggle for the hearts and minds of the Vietnamese people in their competition over a young woman. Murphy wants to reform her and make her a typical middle class American housewife; Redgrave accepts her inability to formulate or retain a political ideal and while promising her no real future, he objects to Murphy's attempts to change her. It's not clear whether Murphy is just what he appears - a bungling Yankee do-gooder - or a deliberate agent of U.S. covert operations.

This irks fur-trapper Pete Taylor, who has designs on Margaret himself. Pete's partner, Joe Morton, accuses him of stealing some pelts and this angers Pete to the point where he kills Morton. Pete then uses the head of a dead wolf to bite Morton and make it appear that Silver Wolf killed Morton. Silver Wolf is immediately placed on trial and a judge rules him guilty, and orders him killed. But Goldie the Eagle swoops down, snatches little Laura Morton and deposits her on top of Topa Topa. Silver Wolf goes in pursuit, rescues the girl and then, in completely justifiable self-defense, kills Pete. Tom then uses his naturalist skills to vindicate Silver Wolf of the Morton murder, and wins the hand of Margaret in the process.

Joe Morton arguably plays the scariest character on "Scandal." His character Rowan Pope puts this on display in the latest episode, where President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Grant confronts an imprisoned Rowan.
Not planning my days around a TV set
Paying our bills and staying out of debt
That's important to me
Opening the windows and letting in air
Holding hands when we're saying a prayer
That's important to me
Chorus 1
Having somebody to share my life
Loving my husbandand being a wife
And the very best mother I can be..
That's important to me
Telling the truth and being real
Feeding my family a home - cooked meal
That's important to me. that's important to me
Planting a garden and watching it grow
Keeping it country on the radio
That's important to me. that's important to me
Chorus 2
Always having you to hold
Being beside you when we grow old
And they plant us 'neath that big oak tree
That's important to me
Believin' my dreams will take me somewhere
Still being myself when I get there
That's important to me. that's important to me
