Goa government staff to get 5% Dearness allowance

PANAJI: The state government decided to enhance the dearness allowance to 5% for its employees and staff of grant-in-aid educational institutions.
The move is in line with the revised rates as sanctioned by the central government to its employees.
The enhanced dearness allowance will be paid along with the October salary.
Arrears from July onwards will also be credited to the government staff.
"It has been decided by the state government to extend to its workers and employees of grant-in-aid institutions, who are drawing pay and allowances, the benefit of payment of dearness allowances at revised rates as sanctioned to central government employees," undersecretary for finance, Sushama Kamat said. The dearness allowance will be calculated as per the 7th pay commission recommendations.
